The COP27 climate summit in Egypt was supposed to end Friday, but went into overtime as an agreement was made to create a "loss and damage" fund for the first time ever. But which countries and industries will pay for it, and how much? Weeks into November, much of Canada is already seeing its fair share of wintery conditions, but, a severe lack of rainfall continues to take a toll on the west coast. FIFA 2022 host country Qatar has a poor human rights record - notably over the treatment of migrant workers leading up to the tournament. But what about the government's treatment of LGBTQ+ members? And finally, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on the home stretch of his 10-day foreign tour, touching down in the final stop of Tunisia for the Francophonie summit today.

FIFA World Cup celebrations have been marred by tragedy. Grant Wahl, one of the top soccer writers from the U.S., collapsed while covering the Argentina and Netherlands game on Friday and later died in hospital. As the Maritimes are preparing to once again host the World Junior Hockey Championships, there's a police investigation underway into the 2003 Canadian team with off-ice claims that a group of players sexually assaulted a woman who was unconscious. In Montreal, over 100 civil society organizations showed up to protest at the UN's COP15 biodiversity summit in Montreal. But that hasn't stopped growing skepticism over whether world leaders are taking the issue seriously. France is making condoms free for young people in an effort to cut down on a growing problem of sexually transmitted infections - one that's also growing in Canada. And finally, anti-semitic comments and acts have been on a sharp rise both in Canada and in the U.S. over the last several years, and it's left communities wondering why not enough is being done to curb it.

One Canadian medical team of volunteers just returned from a mission in Poland where they provided crucial surgical care. Julia Foy met up with the team there and reports on the difference they made. Plus, the January 6th committee will issue its final report this week on the attack on the U.S. Capitol after conducting more than a thousand interviews and reviewing hours of footage. The committee will reportedly recommend the department of justice file criminal charges against former president Donald Trump for his role in the attack. Jennifer Johnson reports.

And now, there is growing anxiety over an explosion of cases in China. In Paris, a gunman opened fire at a Kurdish cafe and community centre, killing three people. Finally, a new Ipsos poll conducted for Global News found nearly a third of Canadians say they are less trusting of information from social media than they were prior to the pandemic.
