A Discovery of Witches immediately gained popularity once the AMC show was added to Netflix, and I can tell you that I'm definitely not surprised. The fantasy series has all the elements to make it a success, and it's just so great to see. There's also only three seasons and they're not particularly long, so it's easy to get through quickly.

Dublin International Film Festival has unveiled its full programme for the upcoming edition, opening with the world premiere of Irish filmmaker Marian Quinn’s anti-war epic Twig.
This re-telling of Greek tragedy Antigone stars Sade Malone in the titular role and Brían F. O’Byrne, and is set in Dublin’s inner city, where an ancient city wall cordons off a neighbourhood which is rife with drugs. It is produced by Ireland’s Ruth Carter of Blue Ink Films and Tommy Weir for Janey Pictures.

The Newport Beach Film Festival, which will run from Oct. 12-19 this year, has announced their opening and closing night films.
Marco Perego’s “The Absence of Eden,” which stars Zoë Saldaña, will open the festival on Oct. 12 at the Edwards Big Newport. Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers,” starring Paul Giamatti, will close the festival on Oct. 19. The 24th festival will take place in person and feature 91 films from around the world.
Filmmakers will be present for a moderated interview before “The Absence of Eden” screens. The film follows an Ice agent (Garrett Hedlund) grappling with the moral conflict of border security and an undocumented woman (Saldaña) fighting to get away from a merciless cartel; the paths of these two individuals intersect as they join together to save an innocent girl’s life.
