The CW is now run by Nexstar, a company focused on making the smallest broadcast network profitable. The ratings matter more than ever, and the CW series must earn their keep to stay on the air. How many shows will be cancelled or renewed during the 2024-25 season? Stay tuned.
CW shows this season (so far): All American, Children Ruin Everything, The Chosen, Crime Nation, Good Cop/Bad Cop, Joan, Police 24/7, Scrabble, Sherlock & Daughter, Sullivan's Crossing, Superman & Lois, Totally Funny Animals, Totally Funny Kids, Trivial Pursuit, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Wild Cards, and The Wranglers.
There's lots of data that network execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. These 2024-25 charts will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Welcome to Deadline’s annual list of premiere dates for new and returning TV series.
The roster covers hundreds of broadcast, cable and streaming programs debuting throughout 2025, including many still listed as Tba (to be announced). It includes series premieres and season debuts, shows returning from hiatus and some one-offs such as live sports and awards shows but not movies or specials.
Note that older premiere dates are listed at the bottom and that not all PBS outlets premiere their shows on the same day.
As always, we update this post daily as more dates are revealed, so check back often for the latest. We’re glad you tuned in. Additions or adjustments can be sent to editors@deadline.com.

The Writers Guild of America has asked its members to affirm disciplinary actions against four writers accused of breaking union rules during the 2023 strike, with a vote on their appeals scheduled for mid-May, according to media reports.
Edward John Drake, Roma Roth, and Julie Bush are accused of prohibited writing activities during the stoppage, while Tim Doyle faces censure for an offensive social media post. The WGA West board voted last week to expel Drake and Roth, the guild’s harshest penalty. Bush was temporarily suspended and given a lifetime ban from serving as a strike captain. Doyle was publicly censured.
“Every Guild member knows what it means when there’s a strike: pencils down,” the board wrote in its appeal to members, Variety first reported Saturday. “[Drake] did not go pencils down during the strike.” Guild leadership did not immediately respond Saturday to a request for comment.

The Writers Guild of America asked members on Friday to uphold disciplinary actions against four of their brethren who are accused of violating guild rules during the 2023 strike.
Three of the writers — Edward John Drake, Roma Roth and Julie Bush — are accused of performing forbidden “writing services” in violation of union solidarity. A fourth member, Tim Doyle, is accused of making an off-color joke in a Facebook group of fellow writers.
The WGA West board voted to expel Drake and Roth, the severest form of punishment for guild rule violations. Bush was given a temporary suspension and a lifetime ban on serving as a strike captain, while Doyle was given a public censure.
All four are appealing the discipline to the general membership. Three other members, who were not identified, were also found guilty by trial committees of writing during the strike. Those members elected not to appeal.

Monday is looking a little different to normal tonight, Monday, March 10. Only a little, though, as one of the broadcast networks is off the usual schedule.
CBS is opting for a night of specials and reruns. This isn’t too surprising when you consider the need to spread out episodes of TV shows. However, it is disappointing for those who were ready for new comedy or the NCIS franchise.
The Bachelor, Rescue: Hi-Surf, and more
ABC is ready to bring more reality TV. We start off with two hours of The Bachelor, and it’s time for “The Women Tell All.” This is a chance for the women of The Bachelor to share their side of the story of the events that happened. Paramount+ has released a trailer for the forthcoming drama, which premieres with two episodes on Thursday, March 20; the eight-episode series will then follow a weekly release schedule. The footage sees Dennis Quaid don an orange jumpsuit as Keith Jesperson, aka the Happy Face Killer, who sits behind bars for his murderous crimes. He’s visited by his daughter, Melissa Moore (played by B Positive’s Annaleigh Ashford) — but the meeting doesn’t exactly radiate with familial love.

Whether you’re in the mood for reality or scripted, there’s something to watch across broadcast TV networks tonight, Monday, March 3.
Most networks will air something new throughout the night. There is a small exception to that with CBS. NCIS: Origins remains on a break. This isn’t a concern for fans of the series, though, as the show has landed a second season renewal. The CW also continues reruns after new episodes of All American, and it looks like the network is preparing for the return of another show.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, All American, and more
Let’s start with the night of reality TV on ABC. After two hours of The Bachelor, fans can continue with the Hulu series Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. This episode is one that a lot of people talked about after it aired on Hulu. The women head to Sin City,...

The best Chad Michael Murray movies and TV shows include a mix of young adult releases, and in recent years, more adult drama fare. Murray got his start as an actor after he graduated from high school and won a modeling scholarship, which helped him pick up an agent. He moved to California and quickly earned a role in the MTV drama series Undressed. This helped lead to his breakout role on The Gilmore Girls as Tristin DuGray.
After another recurring role in Dawson’s Creek, Murray’s popularity exploded when he grabbed one of the leading roles in One Tree Hill. This also led to several film roles, mostly in young adult movies like Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story. He hasn’t slowed down since aging out of many of those young adult releases, earning some great roles in movies like Fruitvale Station and TV shows like Marvel’s Agent Carter and Sullivan’s Crossing.

One Tree Hill was one of the defining teen dramas of the early 2000s. Although it lasted nine seasons, it ended while it still had millions of viewers.
That explains why there’s been a lot of enthusiasm about a comeback season of the WB-turned-cw drama.
News broke last year that Netflix was developing a sequel series, and now we have another promising update on the matter.

Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer in the first six seasons, is working with former co-stars Sophia Bush, Daneel Ackles, and prospective showrunner Becky Hartman Edwards to get the new take off the ground.
In a recent interview with People, the 42-year-old noted that the reboot news leaked “very, very, very early in the game.”

The brand new sixth season of Virgin River is now streaming on Netflix, and chances are you've already watched all 10 episodes by now. Is that all? Nope! You have nothing to worry about because Virgin River season 7 has already been confirmed. Netflix announced the show's renewal back in October 2024.
An official release date hasn't been announced for the seventh season, but it will likely be released sometime in 2025. A new season of the romantic drama series has come out every year since it first premiered. One of the show's stars, Tim Matheson, revealed in a recent interview that production on Virgin River season 7 will begin in March 2025.
Unless there are serious delays in the filmmaking process, we can expect a late 2025 or early 2026 release. However, if Netflix wants to keep up with its pattern of releasing a new season every year, then the streamer will most likely drop season 7 by the end of next year.

Christmas and New Year may be just around the corner, but that’s not stopping networks from bringing some great TV. Let’s take a look at what’s on the Big 5 networks tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 18.
This is a big night for CBS. Survivor did things differently this year, with a two-part finale. Well, the first part aired last Wednesday, and now it’s time to see the second half. Meanwhile, other networks opt for reruns and holiday specials.
Survivor, Jingle Bell Ball, and more

Chad Michael Murray may have achieved teen heartthrob status early in his career, but there was a moment he was ready to walk away.
In a conversation with Interview published Wednesday, the Merry Gentlemen star reflected on being at the center of mega fandom after starring on One Tree Hill for seven seasons, as well as films such as A Cinderella Story and Freaky Friday. At the time, Murray not only experienced stardom, but also tried to navigate it while growing up, which almost felt like too much.
“There was a moment where I was quitting. I was done. I just couldn’t do it anymore,” he said. “It was right after I left One Tree Hill, and it wasn’t because of the fandom. It was because, when you’re 18 to 25, these formidable years where you’re really cutting your teeth on life experiences and your brain isn’t fully developed,...

Chad Michael Murray may not be returning to One Tree Hill.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, published Wednesday, the Merry Gentlemen star was asked about reports of the upcoming reboot of the hit teen show he starred on for seven seasons.
When Murray heard the news, he said he spoke with his former co-star James Lafferty, who played his onscreen half-brother, Nathan Scott, on the show.
“We’re not doing it because no one’s ever picked up the phone and said, ‘Hey, we’re doing this,’ so we’re not doing it,” he said.
However, he was happy about the prospect of the series returning: “I want it for the fans.”
In another interview with E! News, Murray also said of the show, “This experience that I’ve gotten like the privilege of being able to experience over the course of the last 24 years is incredible.
