The Spider-Man baloon may have been clipped by a tree, but the ratings for NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade continued their ascent. After hitting a six-year high in the metered markets last year with a 11.5 household rating, NBC’s 9 Am-noon coverage of the parade anchored by bearded Al Roker and Matt Lauer did one better yesterday, climbing 17% to a 13.5, an 11-year high. NBC’s Thanksgiving dominance extended to primetime with the Steelers-Ravens football game, which drew a 11.8 metered market rating, up 3% from last year, and the network is expected to win the night in total viewers and adults 18-49. ABC’s A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1.6 in 18-49) from 8-9:30 Pm ranked in between the network’s two rebroadcasts of the special last year — 2.2 on Thanksgiving Eve and 1.1 on Thanksgiving. It was followed by Lady Gaga And The Muppets Holiday Spectacular (0.9), which was down 25% from the Michael Jackson...

Lady Gaga’s holiday special failed to generate much applause. The Artpop singer’s Thanksgiving special with The Muppets disappointed in the ratings Thursday night.
ABC’s 90-minute Lady Gaga & The Muppets Holiday Spectacular had only 3.6 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 at 9:30 p.m. That’s considerable less than ABC’s 8 p.m. annual repeat of a 40-year-old holiday special, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (5.3 million, 1.6 in demo).
Perhaps a more telling comparison: Lady Gaga’s previous ABC holiday effort, A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, aired in this same slot two year ago, but had a 78 percent higher rating (5.4 million total viewers,...

Mother Monster is teaming up with some other Little Monsters for Lady Gaga and the Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular!, a 90-minute special on ABC, airing Nov. 28 from 9:30 to 11 p.m. Et. Thanksgiving must be Gaga’s favorite holiday, as she also hosted A Very Gaga Thanksgiving on ABC in 2011.
Gaga — whose Artpop album arrives Nov. 11 — is a veteran groupie of the Muppet gang too, taking Kermit as her date to the 2009 VMAs, featuring Jim Henson creations on her Monster Ball Tour and, of course, there was the time she wore Kermit as a cape.

Christmas has come early with word that Lady Gaga and the Muppets are joining forces for a holiday television special.
E! News reports that Mother Monster and the beloved puppets recently filmed a special to celebrate the holiday season, set to air on ABC. Details on the special are scant, beyond the knowledge that the production took place in Los Angeles.
This won't be the first time Gaga and the Muppets have teamed up. The pop star attended the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards with none other than Kermit the Frog as her date, while her 2010 Monster Ball tour featured pieces created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. And one can't forget the infamous outfit she once wore on German television made entirely of plus Kermit toys.
Also not a first for the singer? A network television holiday special. In 2011, Gaga hosted and directed "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," which also aired on ABC,...

E! reports that ABC is turning to Lady Gaga for another holiday special (following A Very Gaga Thanksgiving). This time, its a Christmas special that would include The Muppets. I hope there’s a sketch where a PETA activist calls her out for that time she wore a frog skin coat.

Lady Gaga is teaming up with The Muppets for a holiday special. There’s not a whole lot of news about the art project artist’s latest holiday venture, but E! Online is reporting that the special was recently shot in L.A. and will air later this year on ABC. Gaga’s new record, the not-so-coincidentally timed Artpop, hits stores Nov. 11. This isn’t Gaga’s first holiday go ‘round. In 2011, she hosted and directed the very awkward special A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, which included guest appearances from Katie Couric, Tony Bennett, and chef Art Smith.

Spoilers ahead. Two more dancers have left the competition after tonight’s performance show, which featured guest judge Kenny Ortega, some incredible duets, and plenty of side-eye from me re: the elimination process. I’ll post my full recap of tonight’s performances later on; in the meantime, discuss!
Malece Miller and Alan Bersten have been eliminated. What? Nigel Lythgoe attempted to soften this blow (?!) by suggesting that they try (try!!) to join the Top 10 tour anyway, as swing dancers or alternates. As If He Isn’T In Charge Of All Of This.

Michael Jackson couldn't beat Lady Gaga in the battle of the Thanksgiving specials. The Spike Lee documentary "Michael Jackson: Bad25" on ABC fell short of last year's "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," according to preliminary numbers. Meanwhile, NBC took a commanding overall win on the strength of its NFL coverage. NBC grabbed first place in ratings with a 5.8 rating/18 share in the 18-49 demographic most important to advertisers and was first in total viewers with 15.9 million -- far and away, the best network performance of the night. 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving' couldn't overtake the classic 'Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.'

Lady Gaga's "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving" special may have been a triumph of overly-glammed performances, cooking segments with celebrity chefs and craft-time activities with third graders, but none of that was enough to overtake a time-tested Turkey Day classic, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving."
Yes, Charlie, Peppermint Patty, Snoopy et al. bested Gaga in the Thanksgiving ratings battle, though the race was much closer than you'd probably expect. (Both programs aired on ABC.) "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" — first broadcast in 1973 — was watched by some 5.8 million viewers on Thursday night, while "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving" was seen by 5.4 million, according to the Nielsen ratings. Both drew roughly the same audience share in the 18-49 age demo, though neither could compete with the big Thanksgiving-night winner: a repeat of CBS's "The Big Bang Theory,...

Lady Gaga hosted a televised Thanksgiving special last week which also included a food segment with Art Smith.
"Tonight, I asked chef Art to prepare for us some fried turkey and waffles for all of America to enjoy on Thanksgiving," Lady Gaga said during A Very Gaga Thanksgiving.
Smith also helped Gaga make a few family recipes for the audience, including Grandmother Germanotta's Salami Pecorino Cheese Waffles and Aunt Sheri and Uncle Steve's Spiced Pecans.
"Cooking is such a huge part of my life that nobody really knows about," Lady Gaga added. "It's what I do on the road when I'm alone to make me feel happy."
It seems Gaga's entire family has a love for food because the Germanotta's are opening their very own restaurant.

The 'Mary the Night' singer has revealed she posed nude so the 55-year-old crooner could draw pictures of her and the idea was conceived by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Speaking about the experience on CBS TV special 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving' which aired last night (24.11.11), she said: "I walked in and said, 'Well Tony here we are,' and I dropped my robe and I got into position. I felt shy and thought, 'It's Tony Bennett, why am I naked?' "
The pictures that Tony sketched of Gaga, 25, will be published in Vanity Fair magazine next year.
At the beginning of the holiday show, the two singers performed 'The Lady Is A Tramp' – the track they recorded together for Tony's album 'Duets II' – together, and later Gaga admitted she has a special connection with Tony.

Lady GaGa's music special gave ABC its best Thanksgiving since 2007, preliminary figures suggest. A Very GaGa Thanksgiving enthralled 5.4m (1.6) between 9pm and 11pm, easily bettering Beyoncé's 'I Am...' World Tour of 2010. Big Bang Theory took the honours overall, amusing 11.2m (3.6) at 8pm, after which Rules of Engagement logged 7.9m (2.4) at 8.30pm, the second biggest demo rating of the evening. The Tiffany Network's airings of Person of Interest (9pm) and The Mentalist (10pm) did less well, appealing to 8m (1.7) and 7.8m (1.5) respectively. (more)...

Gather 'round, Little Monsters! Lady Gaga is serving up something special during a preview for her very-first 90-minute holiday TV special, "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," which will air at 9:30 p.m. Et Thursday on ABC.
"So excited for everyone to see the Thanksgiving Special I directed!" the pop star wrote on Twitter alongside a link to a preview. "Getting into the holiday spirit!"
In a three-minute teaser, Mother Monster gathers with a crowd of third-grade children from her former elementary school to make some festive crafts and share personal holiday-food traditions. "I want everyone to go around the room and say one thing that their family makes for Thanksgiving," she tells the swarm of girls. Gaga is...

It's Thanksgiving! The leaves are changing in certain parts of the country that still have seasons, the smell of butane from turkey fryers is filling the air and ABC is celebrating with ... Lady Gaga?
Because nothing says making the holidays "hip" like Gaga!
'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving' (Thurs., Nov. 24, 9:30Pm Et on ABC) is a 90-minute TV special conceived and directed by Gaga herself that finds the queen of shock performing eight songs for a small audience that includes her friends and family. The songs range from her biggest hits to holiday classic 'White Christmas,' and she's even doing a duet of 'The Lady Is a Tramp' with Tony Bennett.
Yep, this is really a thing. ABC is calling it "Gaga-fied," I'm calling it awesomely random.

On Monday night, Lady Gaga launched the holiday-themed Gaga's Workshop at Barneys in New York. It was an event that brought out some of the city's biggest fashionistas, many members of the Haus of Gaga (including the event's curator and Gaga's stylist Nicola Formichetti) and the Mother Monster herself.
DJ White Shadow, who produced several tracks on Gaga's Born This Way, was on hand providing tunes for the big shindig.
"They spent a lot of time on the installations," he told MTV News on Tuesday afternoon (November 22). "I didn't understand what it was until I walked up to it. It's Santa's Workshop, but all Gaga stuff. But the windows are super cool.

ABC is out to capitalize on your Thanksgiving food-coma couch time with A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, a special naturally hosted by noted Martha Stewart emulator Lady Gaga. Surprisingly, the preview for Gaga's ninety-minute Turkey Day special does not feature any intergalactic birth scenes, all-white bathhouses, or even "Let's Make a Sandwich" time. In fact, this looks downright... dare I say it... conventional. Sure, there's some eclectic fashion, but the centerpieces here appear to be bantering with Tony Bennett, test-tasting some turkey prepared by Art Smith, a super-serious interview with Katie Couric, and doing some kind of glitter activity with a group of children. Could this be Lady Gaga's bid for the homemaking throne? Turns out few may ever know, since ABC stupidly chose to schedule A Very Gaga Thanksgiving around the same time as a rerun of The Mentalist. Because if America loves [...]...

The apartment that Lady Gaga once lived in on the Lower East Side is now available to rent, but the world's biggest pop star still doesn't have her own place in New York City.
Gaga returns home to her childhood bedroom on the Upper West Side for "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," premiering Thursday night, and according to the New York Post, the singer has an unusual business arrangement with her family that surprises everyone in the music industry: Gaga's father, Joe Germanotta, receives 50 percent of her earnings under their LLCs Team Love Child and Mermaid Music.
"There's really no justifiable sense to doing a 50/50 deal with anyone in your career, other than someone you're partners in a band with," says entertainment lawyer, Josh Grier, who represents Wilco and Elvis Costello. "Certainly no artist entering a management deal does anything close to that -- a commission is usually 15 to 20 percent."

Thanksgiving is coming early, little monsters. Lady Gaga is sharing not one but two exclusive treats with E! as she preps two major new undertakings, her ABC holiday special and her book with hot-button photographer Terry Richardson, Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson. In the exclusive photo above, the pop star returns to her alma-mater, Sacred Heart Catholic school for A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, her 90-minute ABC special airing Nov. 24 at 9:30. On she'll perform eight songs, including "White Christmas," "Marry the Night" and "Lady Is a Tramp (with Tony Bennett), and do a sit-down with Katie Couric to talk about her life, relationships and music. And then, of course, she'll deep-fry a...

Lady Gaga performs on "X Factor" UK

Lady Gaga lost her head on Sunday night when she took the stage on "X Factor UK" to perform "Marry the Night."
Gaga, decked out in a gown that made her appear headless, emerged from a crypt as torches burned around the stage. Her dancers did most of the heavy lifting in the movement department, while Gaga let all the action happen around her, standing in the middle of the stage donning the unusual costume. As the song closed out, Gaga went back in the box and came back out in just a black bodysuit, finally getting in on the dancing for the gothic performance of the Born This Way track, an ode to her hometown of New York.
After the performance, Gaga confirmed that she...
