"Weiß" or "White" is a 3.5-minute (2.5 without credits) short film from 5 years ago written and directed by Julia Peters. And even if I believe that this was not a great film by any means, it sucks to see her work for stuff like "Rote Rosen", the pond scum of German television. This little film here is a story on domestic violence. It is metaphorical, but it's not telling an interesting or convincing story unfortunately. The final shot still elevates the material. Also I am not sure what the color white in the title and everywhere in this film is intended to symbolize. Maybe it's used as an opposing metaphor that everything is really dark in this family? That's just trying to interpret it somehow. It's simply not clear and feels unfinished somehow. Just like the entire film. Quite a pity. I came across this one because Marie Zielcke is semi-famous here in Germany, but her work here is only one shot. Nothing memorable. Not recommended.
