This is one of their better episodes. Besides being funny very often and showcasing Parson's (Sheldon) great acting abilities, I found the episode to be be very CLEVER about the tired old topic of nerdy, low self-esteem Leonard groveling for sex from pretty powerful Penny, but NO! Usually you NOT ONLY SEE this (Leonard's groveling), but you have to HEAR them all discussing all aspects of coitus -- wanting it, pursuing it, getting over it, etc, etc. Here, though, it was very cleverly well done. Since former lovers Leonard and Penny said they were on a friendship date, not the usual sex-romantic date, Leonard (and then Penny too) changed the usual routine and conversation -- like speaking his own mind, demanding his own choice of movie, hooking up with another girl while on the date. So, to repeat, I usually wince when I see Leonard and Penny speak openly and cloyingly about their love life, here it was rather fresh, different. Good job.
The second half of the episode was also nicely done -- about Sheldon trying to shoo a bluebird away from his apartment. The Leonard-Penny half was mostly clever with some comedy thrown in. The Sheldon-blue bird half was mostly Sheldon outraged at this comedy best.
