In the aftermath of Peter Farquhar's death. His brother Ian cannot believe that Peter was an alcoholic and drank himself to death.
No one else seems to have been too concerned at Ben Field's rather creepy eulogy at Peter's funeral service.
By this time Ben Field has already honed into his next victim. Retired teacher Ann Moore-Martin (Anne Reid.) She is unmarried, well to do, a devout Christian and a neighbour of Peter Farquhar as well.
Like the first episode, Ben worms into her life and it is not long before Ann starts to behave erratically. This time her niece Ann-Marie has concerns and goes to the police.
Given this is based on real life events. You have to wonder just how Ben Field got away with two things and no one thought it was odd.
He was in a gay relationship with Peter and now professes his love for Ann. You would have thought Ann sensed something was off. Then there was Ben targeting a relationship with another old single person.
You might think the other neighbours felt that was dubious.
There were some nice touches to show how grasping Ben was. Trying to weasel the share of the house that Peter had bequeathed to his brother.
At times though it felt a lot like a copy of the first episode.
