- When one of Arthur's former female Cold War assets emerges during one of Annie's missions, he immediately flies to Berlin to help, which sparks Joan's curiosity about their past relationship.
- Auggie attends late war buddy Billy's remembrance celebration. Arthur personally gos to Berlin to pretend he's a prospective client for money laundering tycoon Isaak von Hagen, whose wife tipped him off. Joan, left in interim charge, must get funds from Jai's new special ops section. The German authorities are on to the operation.—KGF Vissers

Annie (Piper Perabo) checks in with Auggie (Christopher Gorham) on a money laundering operation out of a honey factory in South Africa. The honey is shipped to Brussels. The money goes to Bermuda, then Berlin, to an investment company owned by Isaac Van Hagen, whom Annie is watching at the moment. She plans to get to Isaac through his wife Elsa, who just opened her first private bank account in 20 years of marriage. Annie follows her on to the train.
She loses her for a moment. Elsa sneaks up on her, whispering she wants a meeting with Arthur Campbell (Peter Gallagher), Annie's boss.
Joan (Kari Matchett) checks on Arthur, who's packing for Berlin. He knew her as Petra, a former asset whom he described as dangerous. She was a member of the German Stasi, secret police. He hasn't notified the Germany intelligence because he's worried about moles. He suggests Joan cover his desk while he's away.
He promises to meet with Elsa and come right back.
Joan calls Annie, telling her not to meet with Arthur face to face since he'll blow her cover. Joan tells Annie to arrange the meet and run point. Joan asks for a full report of everything.
Annie calls Auggie, saying she thinks Joan wants her to spy on Arthur.
Annie meets with Arthur on top of an old NSA listening post. Annie tells him Elisa will meet him tomorrow at the harbor. Arthur wants to control the meet. He gives Annie something for the meet and says she should just follow his lead. He tells her not to worry about Joan. "If all goes to hell, it's on me," she says.
Miles from accounting comes by for a meeting with Arthur, but bails when he sees it's Joan. Jai (Sendhil Ramamurthy) stops by Joan to get files on a new operation he's heading up for special projects, his new division.
Annie calls Auggie. He's heading off to a 30th birthday memorial for Billy, from his Black Diamond Special Ops. She urges him to go.
Annie puts something on the wheel of Elsa's car as she gets in. Elsa checks her make-up on the way, racing down the road. Annie presses a remote and the device on the tire blows. She pulls over with a flat. Arthur steps out from behind an underpass.
Elsa wants resettlement in the UK. She'll give up Isaac's whole client list. Annie fixes the flat and listens. Elsa says the only way to get close to Arthur is to pose as a client. Arthur suggests she pitch him, citing their past spy history. Isaac might believe Arthur would need to launder money because of his recent legal troubles.
Elsa finds Annie and says Arthur must meet Isaac today and be sure to reject the terms Isaac proposes. Elsa wonders what Arthur is up to and if he's trying to get her killed.
Auggie goes to the memorial, but sits alone at the bar. Billy's little sister Parker comes to talk to him. She wonders how he's doing.
Annie answers a Skype call from Danielle (Anne Dudek), who's looking for Chloe's artwork for a show. Annie remembers she had them framed and they're in Annie's apartment. Danielle can't know where it is, neither can anyone at the agency. Annie apologizes. Danielle hangs up on her.
Arthur sits down with Isaac and Elsa. He says the CIA doesn't trust him anymore. He says he met Elsa when he was posing as a student. Elsa says she thought it was true love. Isaac interrogates Elsa about him. Isaac says there's a $3 million minimum and he takes 4%. He gives him til 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Annie poses as a lost tourist. Arthur offers directions. He tells her the $3 million price. Annie suggests she call Joan, since he's already late getting home. Annie needs to be read in on Elsa. He says lines blur. He says he'll explain everything later to Joan.
Auggie and Parker share a beer. She's off to the Peace Corps. She asks what he's contributing to the scrap book for Billy. She got sheet music for Billy's favorite song "A World Apart." Auggie suggests he can top that.
Annie calls Joan, asking if she can free up $3 million. She'll have to get it from Jai's operation.
Cut to Auggie and Parker in a jazz club, where Billy's favorite musician is playing. He wants to get it signed for her. She takes him to dance.
Annie calls Auggie, telling him Arthur was in love with Elsa. She hasn't told Joan.
Joan sits in Arthur's office waiting for his call. Finally, she calls him. She gets him to admit he's posing as the client. He asks her to admit he was in love with Elsa. He knows how it must look.
She reminds him their anniversary is in two days and they haven't spent one together in three years. She says good-night and hangs up. There's a knock at Arthur's door. It's Elsa.
He's angry to see her. She tells him Isaac is on to them. They have to leave now. He thinks she's only in it for the money. He remembers back then, when she said she'd go with him and thinks she never meant it. She reminds him of his great instincts and asks if he trusts them.
The next day, Arthur calls Annie, saying Elsa is trying to play them. He wants to meet in 10 minutes. Annie doesn't get far when a black SUV cuts her off. Arthur's inside. He introduces Karl, his German counterpart. Annie recognizes him as someone who's been shadowing them. Karl says he's getting them out of Berlin and keeping them alive. They've heard chatter Isaac wants Arthur dead. They arrive at a private plane. Local police are there to ensure they're on it when it leaves.
Annie asks what about Elsa. Arthur says Elsa planned to defect in 1989, but when he went to meet her at the planned spot, the Stasi was there waiting for him with guns. Annie asks why he came to Berlin if he thinks Elsa betrayed him. He has doubts, but says it's too late. She tells him to follow his gut.
Cut to the police dropping Annie and Arthur off back in town -- Arthur knew they'd help because just like local US police and FBI, they resent taking orders. Arthur goes to the meeting location and meets Elsa inside. She tells him she thinks she was followed, but he suggests they go now.
Miles from accounting stops by again and says he'll come back. Joan stops him, saying Arthur will trade him DeSean Jackson for Eli Manning for his first pick in the keeper draft.
Joan asks Auggie if he's heard from Arthur or Annie. They're not answering their phones and haven't picked up the money.
Elsa and Arthur emerge from the building and find one of Isaac's bought police outside. They make a run for Elsa's car. Elsa and Arthur get in and run off. Annie knocks out the policeman and hops on his bike, tearing after them.
Isaac chases after them in a Porsche. A gunman with him fires at them.
Arthur signals Annie to get in front of them. Arthur blocks Isaac from passing and lets him get close. Elsa sees a bike laying in the road ahead. Isaac can't see it behind them. Arthur swerves at the last minute. Isaac crashes into it, flipping and wrecking spectacularly.
Arthur escorts Elsa to a plane, putting her on a flight to London. Interpol has Isaac in custody. Elsa tells Arthur she was detained on their last night. Someone tipped off the police. She told no one. They say good bye.
Arthur tells Annie she'll deserve any credit she gets. He'll have to take the credit. He was never there.
Parker shows up at Auggie's house. She says she can't hang out this weekend. He understands. She kisses him.
Arthur comes home. He brought Joan a necklace, a symbol which in the Navy symbolizes safe passage home. Joan offers her present: she got him Eli Manning. They wish each other happy anniversary.
Annie comes by Danielle's with chocolate chip pancakes, Chloe's favorite. She hopes she hasn't missed her chance to make it up to them. Danielle invites her to stay.
