At the end of the episode, Emmet is saying on video how he left someone behind and that "A better man" could have found another way... The obvious reference is to The Hanging Man... But the very last thing he says is "I don't expect her to forgive me." At first I thought I may have misheard it, but even if he had said "him to forgive me" - he couldn't have been talking about the guy he left; he was apparently dead to the crew at that point (they left him to die); he was referencing his wife - which is why Lincoln and his mother hugged and embraced one another to end the episode.
I found this to be some of the best writing of any episode, although they really need to work on cleaning up the logical fallacies (some examples including:
However, the theme of the show is captivating enough for me to ignore these issues and accept the cliffhanger format; hopefully they will keep up the good work with episodes like this one

- Jahel answering untranslated questions that are being presented to her in English... hopefully not one of those 'I spoke English the whole time' gags like on another popular show very similar to this one...
- the crew being able to find extremely remote places in the Amazon with ease based on photographs...?
- Lincoln cauterizing wounds with a hot butter knife after having a 2 minute conversation and letting the knife cool down. (not to mention the absurdity of doing this with a butter knife)
