The final season of Snowpiercer has finally found a home.
The fourth season of the sci-fi drama will air on AMC after the company acquired the rights to the Tomorrow Studios-produced series. It comes after TNT scrapped the show last year as part of a wider Warner Bros. Discovery content write down strategy.
Deadline revealed in January 2023 that the fourth season wouldn’t air on its original home, as part of a slew of content cuts that also including the axing of Batgirl, Abrams’ HBO drama Demimonde, and TBS series such as The Big D, Chad and Kill The Orange Bear.

[Warning: The below contains major spoilers for USA Network’s The Big D season finale.] JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers have guided six divorced couples through an emotional journey on USA Network‘s The Big D. The dating reality series saw recent divorcees attempt to move forward with their lives. Whether that be with an old flame, a new connection or just leaving Costa Rica ready to make a fresh start. Over time they participated in Ex-ercises, therapy sessions with Dr. Jada Jackson, and were thrown curveballs like other ex-spouse additions that changed the dynamic. By the finale on August 16, two couples remained. Alexis Fletcher and Devon Wright rekindled their bond through the process. And Casey Costa (Brooks Peters’ ex) and Ben (Angelique Richards’ ex) built the foundation for their romance while in paradise. Those eliminated were welcomed back to vote on what couple should win. The finalists were tasked with explaining to the group what they...

Part of the appeal of watching reality dating shows like “The Big D,” “Love Island USA,” and “Temptation Island” is the ability to watch gorgeous singles creating drama in exotic tropical locales like Costa Rica, Fiji, and Maui. Given that the contestants are essentially sequestered for weeks or months at a time yet seem to have an endless array of outfits, a question arises: Where are these clothes all coming from? Do the singles bring their own wardrobe? Is it provided? Do they need to coordinate with each other and the hosts, as well as make sure they’re not clashing with the set decoration?
The answer is all of the above, with slight variations from show to show. On USA’s “Temptation Island,” showrunner Trifari White works with the cast to select clothes from their own closets that will reflect who they are but also work for the style of the series.

As “The Bachelorette” Season 20 enters its second week, former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher shared her words of wisdom for leading lady Charity Lawson, urging her not to “self-sabotage.”
“You’re gonna go through a whirlwind of emotions — it’s going to be the best thing that you ever do, some of the best times of your life, but you’re also going to have moments where you feel completely alone, confused, isolated, and at times really struggling,” Fletcher told TheWrap during a recent interview. “I think in those moments, it’s very easy to start to self-sabotage, and to start to doubt all the things that are actually good … so I always just say, ‘don’t self sabotage, really just be in the moment [and] feel everything that you’re feeling — all those feelings are normal.

Whether you prefer to call them "FBoys" or "douchebags," it's shaping up to be a summer of male debauchery on TV. Wherever you look — streaming or cable, scripted or unscripted — there are sleazeballs lurking, waiting for the right moment to turn on the charm and wheedle their way into the lives of their unsuspecting victims. It has all the makings of a new and disturbing trend in television — companies taking fully produced, unaired series and moving them off their books — but insiders are hesitant to say whether cancellations like what we saw today at Showtime, as well as what has happened at Warner Bros. Discovery, AMC, Starz, Netflix and Peacock over the last few months, is becoming the new normal.
Consider it more of a one-time “right-sizing,” they say.
“I don’t think those companies are going to want to make a practice of this on an ongoing basis,” a partner at a talent agency tells Deadline. “They’ve done it and they weren’t burned to the ground by the town, but the reaction was really, really strong. Speaking candidly during a Deadline-moderated keynote at the Realscreen conference in Austin, Texas, Finch opened up about the challenges and plans at the newly merged company.
“Going through a merger — and this was a humungous merger — is tough, it’s tough on the content creators, partners, staff, we’re a little ‘rear view mirroring it’ and we’re thrilled about what 2023 is,” she said. “Just now is when we’re able to put our strategy in place; last year was based on bringing two giant entities together.”
Finch talked about programming plans for its networks including the Turner networks, Discovery channels as well as the likes of HGTV and Food Network. She also discussed the recent restructure that led to the...

Exclusive: There probably has been no other division of WarnerMedia more impacted by the Discovery merger than the TNets, which consist of TNT, TBS and TruTV. In the span of a couple of months after the transaction was completed, they got new leadership, with Discovery’s Kathleen Finch adding them to her portfolio, while the previous toppers exited: General Manager Brett Weitz, SVP Original Programming Adrienne O’Riain, and unscripted chief Corie Henson.
The new owners quickly scrapped or ended scripted series such as Chad, Snowpiercer and Kill the Orange Bear, cut a number of unscripted series such as the already completed The Big D, and let go a number of big-ticket development.
As the dust has started to settle, Finch, Chairman and Chief Content Officer, US Networks Group, Warner Bros. Discovery, recently made an outreach to talent agencies and producers, laying out her plans for what original programming on the...

Warner Bros. Discovery Friday detailed its charges for the second quarter that included a combined 825 million hit on the content side, including 496 million for content impairment and 329 million for content development write-downs, as well as 208 million for employee terminations for the three months ended June.
As reported Thursday, Wbd posted a net loss of 3.4 billion (or 2.2 billion pro forma) in its first quarter as a combined company, recording 1 billion of restructuring and other charges (and 983 million of transaction and integration expenses). An SEC filing today said that, “Content impairments and development write-offs resulted from a global strategic review of content following the Merger. Employee terminations relate to cost reduction efforts and management changes. These charges resulted from activities to integrate Wm and establish an efficient cost structure.”
Restructuring and other charges by segment stood at 200 million for studios, 308 million for networks and 475 million for Dtc.

It is the latest example of Warner Bros. Discovery canceling a show or movie that has already been produced. Deadline revealed that reality series The Big D had been axed by two weeks ahead of its premiere, ostensibly for tax reasons, allowing the company to write down the costs of the project.
Yesterday, this went to another level after the company scrapped high-profile DC movie Batgirl.
Essentially, Wbd is able to write off the costs of certain productions as part of a “purchase accounting” maneuver because of...

NBC is leaving the island.
The broadcast network has canceled Million Dollar Island, a big-ticket reality competition series, ahead of production.
The series, which was announced in March, was understood to be in the casting phase before it was shelved. It joins series being shelved such as Turner Networks’ The Big D, which was pulled by Warner Bros. Discovery a couple of weeks ahead of its premiere.
It’s understood that one of the factors behind the decision was the show’s budget. Million Dollar Island is a Survivor-esque competition format that will see 100 contestants compete over 50 days for the chance to win 1 million.
It follows the news that NBCUniversal unscripted chief Jenny Groom is leaving the broadcaster amid a shake-up in its alternative team that is expected to see former Turner Networks exec Corie Henson replace her.
Based on a Dutch format produced by John De Mol’s Talpa,...
