(at around 7 mins) In the opening scene when the police car takes off after Mick, we notice it has twin pipe exhausts in the rear shot (one pair each side) Later on, the rear of the car has single twin exhausts (one pipe either side).
At around 48:50, the Jeep and truck are driving on the right hand side of the road. In the next immediate shot, both vehicles are on the left hand side of the road.
(at around 23 mins) Rutger Enqvist identifies himself as coming from Germany, yet when he talks about studying Law, he uses the word "Jus," which only an Austrian would use. Germans would always say "Jura."
When Mick shoots the police officer in the beginning of the movie, both the front window and the rear window of the police car are intact after the shooting. This, of course, is impossible.
(at around 4 mins) The speed limit on highways in North Western Australia is 110km/h not 100km/h.
Western Australia does not have a dedicated highway patrol unit. All law enforcement on WA roads is done by the state police whom use the standard state police decal on their vehicles.
(at around 7 mins) When Mick Taylor shoots the first highway patrol officer you can hear the gunshot before the impact. In fact you'll hear the shots seconds later from the victim's perspective.
Both the highway patrol car in the opening scenes, and the 4x4 as Rutger and Katarina are looking for a ride leaving Wolf Creek Crater (at around 20 mins), bear the same Western Australian license pate 1DUU347.
(at around 1h 21 mins) Towards the end of the film, when Paul is being quizzed by Mick, he refers to Lieutenant James Cook, pronouncing it American fashion-"Lootenant". As a Brit/Pom, he should pronounce it "Leftenant".
(at around 15 mins) The road signs displayed near the beginning of the movie, when they fail to be picked up by Mick, show Derby and Halls Creek behind them connecting with National Highway 1 with Port Hedland and Perth to the left and Kununurra and Darwin to the Right. This is Geographically impossible as halls creek is on National Highway 1. Also Derby is located on the Western side of National Highway 1 which means that Port Hedland and Perth are to the Right and Kununurra and Darwin are to the Left. Also a road distance marker is shown as Mick drives away showing "D 130" meaning that Darwin is 130Km away, assuming they are at the turn off to Derby then Darwin is actually 1700km away.
Around 27 minutes into the movie when Mick first stab's Rutger(Male of the German Couple) in the spine, not only do you hear the crunching of his spine, but Mick turns him into a head on a stick like several of his previous victims. However soon after that scene as he has the German Female on the ground, somehow Rutger magically is able to walk again and use all his limbs and attack Mick from behind with out explanation.
