Sex & Nudity

  • There is talk of Joan having started in an "erotic film" earlier in her youth.
  • There are some sexual references, but nothing more than that. At most some brief kissing scenes. No nudity.

  • Some f-words are used in their literal meaning. Sex is implied and a homosexual sexual situation is barely shown but heavily implied in an earlier episode. Bette has a one time affair with her married director. Sex is underlining tension throughout.

  • A woman is seen shooting a gun in a movie.
  • Not really any violence. The main actressess are acting and in production of a new horror film.
  • An actress "accidently" kicks her co-star in the head for real when shes meant to pretend for a scene.

Profanity

  • Episode 1:
  • 6 uses of "fuck" and "shit", one use of "cunt" and other milder language like "bitch" or "goddamn".
  • Throughout the seasons episodes strong language is used in exclamation and insult. Strong derogatory terms including the use of the word "cunt" towards a young lady. Joan uses the f-word a lot and the men use a lot of bad language frequently. The mean spirited shade is present and legendary.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Episode 1:
  • There is some smoking and drinking in the episode.
  • The main characters smoke quite frequently. People smoke nearly every time they arent speaking, drinking is also near constant and drug use is implied.

  • There is constant threat and tension between the main characters.
  • Some mildly emotional moments.
