The town of Tramplonia is based on Pamplona, the city in Spain known for the Running of the Bulls.
While the episode mentions that the Rangers are in Spain, the environment and customs of the locals more closely resembles Mexico. Bulls are important cultural icons in each country.
This marks the third time in the series that the rangers have left America for a foreign land (though several of the sea-faring episodes are ambiguous on that account). Here, the rangers are in Spain. Previous trips include visits to London (in Ghost of a Chance) and Egypt (in Throw Mummy from the Train).
This marks the Rescue Rangers' second trip to Europe. They previously visited London, England, in Ghost of a Chance.
By airdate, this is the first episode, aside from the pilot movie, with Jim Cummings providing the voice of Monterey Jack. Peter Cullen had been voicing him in all of the previous episodes(sans the "To The Rescue" movie pilot which aired previously to this)and the next two following this one has Cullen in said role,as those episodes were produced prior to this one even though they aired after, before the remaining episodes to follow in the series had Cummings in the role of Monty. It was said that while the voice cast was sitting at a table preparing to begin recording for the show's next season that they were all doing different impressions of their characters and Cummings decided to try his own version of Monterey Jack. The producers of the show found Cummings' impressions of Monterey Jack more funny and witted than Cullen that they decided to give the role to Cummings. Cullen however remained with the show voicing various guest characters throughout.
