Em meets Charlie at her nephew's birthday party and they become fast friends. He is funny and charming, intelligent and creative but no person is ever truly perfect, especially if they are not a "person" at all. Charlie is a puppet. Behind Charlie is Angus, an unassuming puppeteer who has taken his job home with him. At first Em believes Charlie is just a catharsis for Angus but when the man operating the puppet begins to communicate to her secretly behind the puppets back she starts to question, who is who and who is real and is she falling in love with the man or the puppet?
