- Stan tells Det. Linden he has no idea who Rosie's father is but knew before he married Mitch that the child was not his. She assures him that Alexi Giffords had nothing to do with Rosie's murder. Stan is keeping a watchful eye on him nevertheless. Terry has been seeing the married Michael Ames but he breaks up with her. Michael Ames becomes a suspect with Linden and Holder wondering if he might be Rosie's biological father. It turns out Rosie may have been blackmailing Ames by threatening to tell his wife about his affair with Terry. They re-question Michael Ames and learn who sent the blackmail threat. Darren Richmond meanwhile gives an interview and re-affirms his desire to run for mayor. Gwen has a change of heart and returns to Seattle hoping to rejoin the Richmond campaign. Mitch continues getting to know her new friend. Det. Linden and son Jack moves out of their hotel after it becomes apparent to her that someone had earlier broken into their room.—garykmcd
- Open with Terry talking to Michael Ames in his limo. Ames tells her to leave him alone.
Linden meets with Stan about not being Rosie's biologicial father.
Tina shows up at Mitch's room soaking wet asking to hang out. She lets her take her shows.
Stan tells Linden that Rosie was conceived during a period where they were broken up. He doesn't know the identity of her father and never asked. He mentions that Rosie was looking through Mitch's shoebox of keepsakes and admits that Mitch is "gone." Linden asks to look through Rosie's room. From Rosie's window she sees cigarettes and an ashtray sitting in the ally. Holder calls Linden with word that Ames took a limo to the fairy that night. He also had an overnight bag and a ticket to Vegas.
Linden and Holder pay Terry a visit and ask about Ames. She tells them she and Ames had a "real" relationship. She was supposed to pick him up at the ferry that night be he cancelled on her last-minute. Holder gets word a text was sent from Rose's burner phone to Ames. It said: "$5,000. I want the money or I'll tell your wife."
Holder finds out Ames' company was a big supporter for Mayor Adams. Linden asks for a warrant for Ames' phone records. Holder points out that if Ames was Rosie's father that would make Jasper her half-brother.
Holder and Linden meet with Jasper, who is adamant Rosie was not a prostitute and was, in fact, a virgin. Rosie told him her life was a fake. Jasper saw his father that night at 4am when he was dropped off by a taxi with a broken taillight. He suggests they talk to one of his father's prostitutes.
As Gwen watches Richmond's interview in DC, the people she's with point out that it really doesn't matter whether or not he actually killed Rosie, since his name will forever be associated with the crime.
During his interview Richmond tells the story about Jamie's father.
Gwen has a drink with her father and looks apprehensive about moving on.
Jasper goes to his father's work site and demands to know if he had anything to do with Rosie's murder.
Stan appears to be following Alexi.
Mitch tells Tina she should reach out to her mother, that she knows what it's like to miss a child. After seeming upset, Tina eventually passes out on the bed.
Holder thinks Linden could be becoming too empathetic towards Rosie. Linden is told Carlson pulled the warrants on both Ames and the casino.
Ames and Jasper are at the station when Linden and Holder arrive. Jasper takes credit for the blackmail text, saying he was upset with his father. After Ames' counsel provides a credit card receipt from the ferry, he is allowed to go. Carlson orders Linden to leave the Ames family alone, then says "I looked at your file."
Alexi meets Stan at the cemetery. He swears that he didn't hurt Rosie. Stan tells Alexi he had planned to tell Rosie about not being her real father. He explains that his father was a good man, but a "lazy thief." Stan asks Alexi why he didn't kill him. He tells Stan that "she saved your life."
Gwen shows up at Richmond's office. She wants to help him get rid of the murder "stink." Jamie stops her at the elevators and says "It's good to see you."
Linden and Holder pay a visit to Ames's wife, Sally. She doesn't know where he was the night of the murder. She tells them that they have an agreement that "he can play." She asks about Mitch Larsen and Sally say they were in Indonesia when Jasper was conceived.
Linden and Holder see Wapi Eagle casino manager Nicole Jackson arrive for the Ames' party. Linden wants to tap Ames' phone. Holder thinks she should calm down before Carlson gets pissed.
Mitch wakes up to find Tina still sleeping beside her. She touches Tina's hair and whispers, "I'm so sorry." She cries and asks Tina if they can just lie there for awhile.
Richmond calls Gwen and invites her to return to the campaign.
Linden is so excited for a grade Jack got that she goes to put it on the fridge. She spots a drawing on there that Jack didn't put there. She checks the hallway suspiciously.
Mitch wakes up to find Tina gone. Tina has gone through her stuff and taken Mitch's cash. We see a letter addressed to David Rainer in her box.
Linden brings Jack over to Holder's place to crash.
We see Adams and Jackson shaking hands in a familiar fashion.
Stan watches Terry leave the house.
Mitch opens the David Rainer letter, which was written to inform this man that she was pregnant and didn't know what to do.
Holder and Jack wrestle playfully in his apartment. We see that someone wearing black gloves is watching.
