The weekend’s big theatrical release is Disney and Pixar’s ‘Inside Out 2,’ but if that’s not your cup of tea, there are some great choices to watch at home on all the major streaming services. Here are IMDb’s picks for the best things to stream this weekend.
“Presumed Innocent” on Apple TV+
If this legal thriller seems familiar to you it's probably because there have been many incarnations over the years, from Scott Turow's bestselling novel in 1987 and the 1990 box office hit starring Harrison Ford, to made-for-television sequels in 1992 and 2011. David E. Kelly and J.J. Abrams team up to bring an updated version to the screen with Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role of Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor accused of murder. The miniseries premiered its first two episodes on Wednesday, with new episode dropping weekly.
“House of the Dragon” on Max
Time needed to be spent setting the table in the first season of “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon” to introduce the Targaryen ancestors and their complex family dynamics. The second season promises to deliver some fireworks, as the civil war between Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half-brother Aegon II takes center stage. An uptick in action and an abundance of dragons should help boost the show's popularity after a successful maiden launch. If there is any doubt in your mind whether to continue (or start) the series, know that there’s a just-announced third season in the works.
“Bridgerton” on Netflix
The final four episodes of Season 3 are streaming on Netflix, and will deliver on the promise of that Episode 4 cliffhanger and learn what follows after Colin’s proposal to Pen. As their slow-burn romance comes to a conclusion, “Bridgerton” fans are already speculating as to which characters will be in the spotlight for Season 4, which—based on the show’s production history—likely won’t arrive until 2026.
“The Boys” on Prime Video
Fans are eager to dive into Season 4 of “The Boys” this weekend, with the first three episodes now streaming. Newcomers Valorie Currie and Susan Heyward are the latest supes to jump into the fray (as Firecracker and Sister Sage, respectively), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“The Walking Dead”) joins the cast as an old colleague of Butcher. Savor the show while it lasts; “The Boys” was just renewed for its fifth and final season.
‘Brats’ on Hulu
Andrew McCarthy directs this documentary about the group of young stars branded as the “Brat Pack” in the 1980s. McCarthy tracks down the Brat Pack cohort—which include himself, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, and others—to reflect on the impact the label (and Hollywood) had on them. A must see for ‘80s kids, you can stream it on Hulu now.

On TPlus, the company’s block on Peacock, NCIS star Valderrama is exec producing Keep This To Yourself, an adaptation of Tom Ryan’s YA thriller. The series, written by Ryan and Mark Kruger, takes place the year after the notorious Catalog Killer murdered four victims before disappearing. The HBO Max documentary “Lfg” chronicles the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team as they take legal action against the U.S. Soccer Federation for equal pay. The lawsuit was filed in 2019, but what made Oscar-winning filmmakers Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine get involved in the project? “As we started looking into it, there’s decades behind this lawsuit, there’s a lot of history,” they tell Gold Derby in our Meet the Experts: Documentary panel (watch the exclusive video interview above). “It’s pretty compelling when you find out what they’re doing. And really what we unveiled was this was a huge David and Goliath story.”
Sean continues, “While it plays out in the press, the underlying aspects of it aren’t really understood. The emotional toll it takes on the players, really the reason they’re doing it, and also the facts themselves are quite disputed...

A24 is producing a documentary about the transition of power in the American government from directors Sean Fine and Andrea Nix, IndieWire has learned. The Oscar-winning filmmakers were in Washington, D.C. filming as a violent insurrection swept through the Capitol last week. The film — focused on the big picture of transitions of power rather than just this most unusual one — has long been in the works. But the filmmaking team happened to be in Washington last week and were able to capture some of the chaos and violence as Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an effort to interrupt Congress’ certification of Joe Biden’s electoral college victory.
The Fines are producing the documentary through their recently launched social impact studio Change Content with A24. The husband and wife team’s “Inocente,” about a homeless and undocumented California teenager, won the 2013 Oscar for best documentary short. Their most recent movie,...

Over the weekend, a person with a desire to stir up chaos in the middle of a pandemic deemed it an opportune time to rehash one of the most annoyingly lengthy feuds in celebrity history. To do that, this unknown party leaked what appears to be the full, infamous phone call between Kanye West and Taylor Swift about his song “Famous.” That person is now my nemesis.
Basically, the whole phone call leaked, revealing Taylor Swift never consented to being called “that bitch.”
She never lied or was a “snake.

Chicago – With the success of mystery shows like “C.S.I.” and “The Mentalist,” why not try and bring back a staple of the ’70s and ’80s TV scene, the mystery movie of the week? Such is the thinking behind TNT’s programmers, as the network will debut a whopping four stand-alone mystery movies in the next month, starting with tonight’s debut of “Scott Turow’s Innocent,” starring Bill Pullman, Marcia Gay Harden, Alfred Molina, and Richard Schiff. Despite the stellar cast, this is a limp, dull effort that will only serve to remind viewers why they don’t make TV movies like this often any more.
Television Rating: 2.0/5.0
Twenty years ago, Turow made waves with the book and film for the tight mystery of “Presumed Innocent.” In Alan Pakula’s film, Harrison Ford memorably played Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor who watched his life turn upside down after his mistress ended up dead.

While original TV movies continue to struggle on broadcast TV as evident by the underwhelming ratings for the Hallmark Hall Of Fame film on ABC last night, the genre’s resurgence on basic cable continues. TNT has decided to extend its Mystery Movie Night franchise into the spring, greenlighting today the original movie Hornet’s Nest, an adaptation of the Patricia Cornwall novel that will star Sherry Stringfield and Virginia Madsen. The green light for Hornet’s Nest comes ahead of the debut of the TNT Mystery Movie Night, which features original movies based on popular crime novels. The franchise is set to premiere tomorrow with Scott Turow’s Innocent and continues Wednesday with the Sandra Brown novel Ricochet, starring John Corbett, Julie Benz and Gary Cole. The series will feature six movies this month and in December before returning in the spring with Hornet’s Nest and three other movies to be announced.

Let's start the weekly round-up with Grimm.
Grimm's ratings dropped a little this week, but the show still won the 18-49 demo in its timeslot, finishing ahead of CSI: NY, Fringe and Supernatural, and rising by a full frakking ratings point (1.8) after Chuck (0.8). Wake up, Chuck.
Hitfix visited the set in Portland recently and posted a lengthy report. Here is a snippet:
Sasha Roiz on how his character will develop later in the series: "I’m not a Grimm descendent, but I'm a descendent of a long line that dates back just as Grimm does and we have a bit of a history and a past, so my line is a royal line and that will slowly unfold throughout the series."Collider has a longer interview with Sasha and Reggie Lee (more at the link):
It’s nice to see your character – like the main character – has the duality.

Scott Turow is seeing another of his best sellers adapted by television, but he admits he doesn't watch many law-and-order series.
