- With Farther than The Trees, Filmmaker Ed Greenberg has created a haunting and intriguing piece of cinema that has utilised real dreams, experienced by real people to construct the narrative of his film. Every image captured on camera has been experienced in some form by someone, somewhere. As such Farther Than The Trees has a strong sense of the 'uncanny' and is open to a plethora of interpretations based upon the viewers' experiences. The film focuses upon the plight of a young woman, Dianna, as she struggles to escape from the dense forest that surrounds her after she awakens, half drowned, in a secluded stream. As she travels onward however, she is haunted by various visions and images that appear to be from her past, present and future. Scenes of teeth pulling, midnight burials and bizarre rituals are just some of the events she encounters. At the heart of these visions is the Mysterious Dakota 4:15, a beautiful yet ghostly figure that ultimately holds the key to Dianna's escape. Farther Than The Trees is a journey into the fantastic, an engaging and intriguing glimpse into the nature of the dream and a testament to what filmmakers can achieve with a zero budget and a lot of imagination.—Anonymous
