On tap right now is a bunch of stuff from writer/director Jesse Dayton’s zombie feature Zombex, including the artwork, several new stills, and even the sales trailer. Start feasting!
From Vmi Worldwide Sales comes Zombex, starring Malcolm McDowell (Halloween), Lew Temple (Halloween), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), Corey Feldman (Lost Boys), and Pierre Kennel.
Synopsis:
Zombex tells the story of a post-Katrina New Orleans as it deals with a second disaster: a zombie apocalypse. Gone are the depression and post-traumatic stress of the hurricane thanks to the revolutionary new anti-depressant called "Zombex," which is manufactured by a nefarious corporation. Are citizens of the Big Easy on the path to happiness, or is Zombex working its dark magic? It is. Just as quickly as the city recovered, it plunges back into madness. Only this time, instead of deadly water filling the streets, Nola is flooded with the walking dead.

It’s been awhile since we reported on writer/director Jesse Dayton’s zombie feature Zombex, but that all changes today with a first look at the new one-sheet for the flick as well as word from star Lew Temple on the production.
“I star in it along with Malcolm McDowell and Sid Haig,” said Temple, who currently can be seen on Season Three of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” as "Axel" (look for an extensive interview with the actor coming soon), of Zombex.
“It’s about a conspiracy in which the government is using New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina as a test zone for post-traumatic stress medicines,” continued the actor, whose previous genre turns include Trailer Park of Terror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects and Halloween, among others.

Musician, actor, writer, director...there is surely no end to this guy's talents? Jesse Dayton is currently hard at work in post-production on his new horror project 'Zombex'. The movie heralds the debut feature from the Texan in which he both wrote and directed. In addition to the interview they were also good enough to reveal some great new looking production stills, which you can check out below. Lew Temple, David Christopher, Malcolm McDowell ('Halloween'), Sid Haig ('The Devil's Rejects'), Corey Feldman ('The Lost Boys'), John Doe, Tom Araya and Kinky Friedman all star....

Musician Jesse Dayton may be best known to genre fans as “Captain Clegg,” the front man to the psychobilly band seen in Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, as he not only performed under the moniker in the film but also was the opening act on Zombie’s music tour that kicked off later that year as well.
Now Dayton is gearing up to show his fans out there another side of himself as the writer/director just wrapped production on his first feature film entitled Zombex, a zombie flick that explores the concept that maybe pharmaceutical companies could actually be dastardly enough to be responsible for creating a zombie apocalypse through the distribution of their medicinal products.
Starring Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), David Christopher (The Sinner), Slayer lead singer Tom Araya, Emily Kaye...

As if New Orleans didn't have enough problems, now they have zombies to contend with. In the new zombie flick, Zombex, currently in production, Singer/songwriter-turned-writer/director Jesse Dayton brings us this tale about a new anti-depressant created to help Nola residents deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Problem: this new drug seems to have the side effect of turning people into zombies. Personally, I wouldn't take a drug called Zombex, but hey, that's just me. Dayton has assembled a cast of horror greats, including Sid Haig (House of 1,000 Corpses), Malcolm McDowell (Halloween), Corey Feldman (Lost Boys), Lew Temple (The Devils Rejects... notice a theme here?) along with...

Indie director Jesse Dayton, released some info today on his official website regarding his current horror musical named, Zombex. Zombex is a throw-back zombie horror film set in historic New Orleans, using a pharmaceutical company as the culprit for the outbreak,…...

Zombex tells the story of a post-Katrina New Orleans as it deals with a new disaster, a zombie apocalypse. Gone is the depression and post-traumatic stress of the hurricane, thanks to the revolutionary Zombex, a rogue, yet "clinically-proven" anti-depressant pharmaceutical manufactured by a nefarious organization.

Where most zombie movies centre around people trying to kill the zombie hordes, Jesse Dayton's Zombex might have something else on up its sleeve. Here's the official synopsis:
Zombex tells the story of a post-Katrina New Orleans as it deals with a new disaster, a zombie apocalypse. Gone is the depression and post-traumatic stress of the hurricane, thanks to the revolutionary Zombex, a rogue, yet, "clinically-proven" anti-depressant pharmaceutical manufactured by a nefarious organization. For the residents of the Big Easy everything is just now turning around for them. Or, is it just the anti-depressant Zombex talking. It is. Just as quickly as the city seemingly turned around, it turns again. Only this time, turning Nola's inhabitants into the city's walking dead.
Reading that, I can't help but think that this "nefarious organization" is out to create a zombie horde. For what purpose is yet to be revealed.
As cool as this story sounds,...
