Recently, it seems like large corporations just can’t help investing in media companies. British broadcasting and television company ITV is now following suit by investing in New York-based Believe Entertainment Group. The digital entertainment company produces many popular shows, including The LeBrons (an animated series for Xbox starring LeBron James), In the Booth (a behind-the-scenes series on YouTube hosted by DJ/musician Tiësto), and Money Where Your Mouth Is (a game show on Hulu hosted by Jay Mohr). Specializing “in developing premium entertainment with A-list talent and matching them with global brands,” Believe Entertainment has several new initiatives in development which will be announced in the near future. “As the entertainment industry continues to converge to meet the demands of consumers and how they want to view content, this partnership offers both companies a distinct competitive advantage,” said Dan Goodman and William H. Masterson III, co-founders of Believe Entertainment Group,...

This story first appeared in the Sept. 12 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. With his high-profile move back to the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, LeBron James is realigning his Hollywood priorities. The NBA superstar has pulled back from several entertainment projects, including the animated web series The LeBrons (in its third season), the Starz comedy Survivor's Remorse (set to bow Oct. 4) and Kevin Hart's Ballers movie for Universal. "Basketball and turning Cleveland into a winner is first, second, third and fourth priority for LeBron," his manager and business partner Maverick Carter tells THR. James, 29, announced July

Update: Espn has posted on Twitter writing, "LeBron sources refute Deadline report, there's no Space Jam 2 or Warner Bros. project in works." While the tweet is rather definitive, this could also just mean James hasn't yet agreed to the project. The Deadline report didn't necessarily say James had signed on as it was more about how Charlie and Will Ebersol were writing the screenplay. Original post follows... The first Space Jam was junk. Sure, I was 19 at the time and well outside the target demographic, but I can't pretend it holds any place in my heart and I'm saying this as a life-long basketball player and fan. The only good thing that came out of the film were the Air Jordan XIs, which were easily one of the most comfortable pair of basketball shoes I ever wore. Now, 18 years after Michael Jordan starred alongside Bugs Bunny, it appears LeBron James...

Lebron James' popularity is at an all time high. The Miami Heat superstar, who just won his fourth Mvp award as he continues to lead his team through the playoffs, has almost completely reversed the public's opinion of him since his 'Decision' PR disaster back in 2010. That being said, there's no time like the present for James to debut a second season of The Lebrons, the animated web series where he voices a number of different characters. James plays four characters, each one representing a different side of his personality. From the look of the recently released trailer, LeBron will continue to teach moralistic lessons to children in an attempt to remind the kids of the world that you don't need to be 6'8" and 250 lbs. to live a full life (though it certainly helps). Also, it's animated in 3D instead of 2D this time around, for some reason.

Google has released a new filter on its endlessly fun Google Trends tool that allows users to only see results for YouTube searches. Thus, the filter serves as a time capsule of YouTube, displaying what was popular from 2008 up until now. You could spend hours drawing conclusions based on the search volume for your favorite YouTube videos, but here are four trends I found particularly interesting. 1. Smosh can thank its Smosh Games channel for making it #1. Smosh were at their yearly low point when the Smosh Games channel hit YouTube last September. After the release of that channel, Smosh's traffic skyrocketed to an all time high. Weirdly enough, the traffic has dipped back down since Smosh became the most subscribed channel on YouTube. Do YouTube searchers have hipster taste? Do they not like things when they become too cool? 2. People have learned not to search for porn on YouTube. Good work,...

It's the stuff legends are made of — or just everyday life for dance-music icon Tiësto.
So it should make total sense that the Dutch Edm star is now set to share his globetrotting adventures with his millions of fans around the world. Premiering Thursday, "In the Booth" is a 10-episode digital series that will bring fans closer to the man born Tijs Verwest than ever before.
Tiësto first revealed the series to MTV News when we caught up with him while headlining Boom, Belgium's Tomorrowland Festival. "It's more for the people to get to know a little more about what I do," Tiësto said. "Not just the DJing, but also going backstage and stuff.

There’s something unique about the NBA that allows us to expect more the league’s superstars. Maybe it’s the fact that it is the only professional sport where you can sit close enough to hear every word, feel every thundering dunk, and see every tiny movement of a player’s body. Perhaps more than any other sport, basketball allows for more individual creativity from each player (there’s so slam dunking in baseball). People feel a connection to the players almost more than any other sport (witness for the national Crucifixion of Lebron James for evidence). With that in mind, it’s no surprise that superstar Kevin Durant has a web series called Kevin Durant’s 35th Hour where he wants to show he’s just a “regular person.” Related News:LeBron James Picks up Drake for ‘The LeBrons’ Web Series Kevin Rose Launches New Web Series: ‘Foundation...

The The Lebrons is an original web series starring four different animated iterations of LeBron James (who you’re probably familiar with from those Nike commercials) and their pastel-colored, cartoon sitcom hi-jinks, which are intended to, according to professional basketball’s most loved (if you life in Miami) and hated (if you life anywhere else) player, teach young children important life lessons. The last installment of the first 10-episode season debuted last week, which means it’s a good time to look at the numbers. The YouTube channel is up to 51,000+ subscribers with a total view count for all its uploads bumping 8 million (with 1.3 million of those views coming from Episode 1, and the other 6.7 or so million dispersed amongst the other nine episodes and various teasers and trailers). So, the $64,000 dollar question is do those numbers mean the show’s a success? Well, it’s at least successful enough for Believe Entertainment Group,...
