Sex & Nudity

  • Two characters talk about never going "all the way." Slightly suggestive but more humorous than anything.
  • A girl gets her thin top wet and it is see through and she calls a man a pervert for looking at her.
  • No nudity in the anime. No sex scenes either
  • In episode 11 they show both Kurisu and Mayuri nude from the back, just a few frames.
  • A man plays an erotic video game in episode 18. It is brief, only lasting a couple seconds, but you can see women in their underwear compromising positions.
  • In the last second of the ending there is a girl who is fully nude but her hair is covering her breasts
  • A confused man touches a young woman's hair out of confusion. She accuses him of sexual harassment, but in truth, he was just confused.
  • A few double entendres from a perverted character.
  • A young man accidentally refers to a young woman as "wood-inducing".
  • A man accidentally walks in on a young woman and teen girl showering together, though nothing whatsoever is seen.
  • Much tamer than other tv shows around this time like devilman crybaby and others
  • No fanservice in the anime. A man accidentally grabs a girl's clothed crotch.
  • A man, while scuffling with a woman, is forced to kiss her to prevent any suspicion of shadier behavior.
  • A couple of innocent kisses in a somewhat romantic, but mostly emotional context.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman hangs herself. We only see this from the back, mostly in the form of a silhouette.
  • A character throws up (nothing is seen)
  • A character lies dead face-down in a pool of blood. We briefly see this a few more times later on.
  • A male character is moderately beaten by a gang before they flee. We see his rather bloodied face shortly.
  • A teen girl dies repeatedly in many ways. She's shot in the head next to a man, who screams upon seeing this, and some of her blood on his face. She's then accidentally thrown in the path of a moving train and dies offscreen.
  • A man and woman get into a scuffle, wherein the man tries to steal her phone. He's then forced to punch her in the face to get her phone, and she violently panics, pleading for him to return it (hitting things, yelling loudly, throwing stuff at him, etc.). He's then forced to kiss her to avoid suspicion, in which she bites him and some blood is seen in his mouth.
  • A woman is shot dead in the chest, some blood is seen. The shooter then shoots himself in the head offscreen.

Profanity

  • In the Japanese version, a few uses of 'boobs', 'shit', and 'asshole', and 1 use of 'bitch' and 'son of a bitch'.
  • Swearing is less frequent in the English dub, and there are no uses of the f word, but "shit" is used occasionally later on. Likewise, the word "chod" (which is slang for male genitalia) is uttered twice. Goddamn is used about 8-10 times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A character makes a statement about drinking something, and another character asks if he means alcohol. He replies that he means a type of soda and has no use for drinking alcohol.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In the first 10 minutes of the first episode a girl is shown lying in a pool of blood after a man hears a scream.
  • Some of the violence might be intense.
  • A picture of a bloody doll head is briefly seen twice.
  • We see pictures of corpses covered in a jelly-like substance from failed time-travel experimentation in a brief scene.
  • The second half of the show is VERY suspenseful and quite intense.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A girl is stabbed in the chest, she drops dead. In a later scene, a man lets himself get stabbed in the chest and puts his hand in the wound to let out more blood on purpose.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A character continuously dies over and over which may disturb or frighten some viewers
  • The second half of the show involves the main character slowly losing his mental composure and, to some extent, his sanity. This adds to what is an already intense second half.
  • A main character keeps dying constantly while the main character keeps attempting to save her. This is very emotional as the main character suffers emotionally from this.
