What a Beautiful story of a beloved character. I adore Miguel and Rebecca's love story. Kevin really has grown so much as a man and has stepped up and done so much for this amazing family. These writers are incredible. I love them.

Thank you Miguel.

Warning: Spoilers
It was a decent, well-crafted episode in the life of a major supporting character. The entire cast was pretty and Mandy Moore's performance is always amazing.

Also, as the show goes on, the makeup always surprises me every episode, lots of timelines are shown, and it's pretty accurate of how all those different decades look. This episode ends with the reason for Miguel's absence in the future, and I think we're all glad they did.

I also firmly believe that the last three episodes of this show will be a roller coaster of emotions. I can feel that each storyline will be closed to a satisfying and realistic ending. I won't say "perfect" because this series has taught us that everyday life isn't always lived like a fairy tale, and I consider that to be the most perfect way to end this beautiful story. I can feel it in the air, the big ending of THIS IS US is coming and...

I Can't. Wait.

Thank you.

"Love is giving your heart without expectation"
dolphiea4 May 2022
Miguel's complete devotion to his beloved wife, uplifting...Despite her (and his) declining health . It was nice to (finally) get some of Miguel's back story and his many struggles. In spite of some woeful periods he suffered through his life, he was able to stay so sweet and so patient for Rebecca- and she deserves that. Loved the music that was chosen for this episode, AND the awesome copper El Camino!

I bawled my eyes out. Jon (Miguel) was magnificent, and may I just say I loved Kevin this episode. I cried like a baby. Miguel is so precious. And Mandy Moore deserves an emmy!!!!!!!!

Sometimes you just have to say that entertainment in all its forms can blow you away, to have the ability to both write and act so another person watching is moved is no easy feat. I have loved this show, I couldn't care less if others find it saccharin and overly melancholy. It is the best written and acted network show I have ever seen. I tip my hat to all involved, I wrote a review back in season 5 where I thought Miguel would not make the final curtain call, sadly it has come true but his contribution as a character will now never be understated due to a beautifully written and masterly acted episode from Jon Fuertas.

Quite possibly the best episode this series has ever put out. I'm not sure I've ever felt this way watching an episode of anything. It was absolutely unbelievable.

Finally an episode about migo has come
wisamo-924 May 2022
Since the first episodes of the series, I have been feeling strange about the story of Miguel and his marriage to Rebecca. What a wonderful arrangement of events to show at this late hour as the last episodes of this series that has always been interesting. I am so sad that this show is going to end after a few episodes, And How much will he leave a void inside each of his followers.

Today, details I have been waiting for a long time became clear about the story, sincerity, love and loyalty of Miguel.

Billy Joel "And So It Goes" (1989)
toddgillette4 May 2022
This poignant song is simply perfect as the soundtrack of this touching episode about Miguel. I didn't realize before now that we were missing such a rich backstory for this character - such a caring man, completely devoted to his beloved Rebecca.

Miguel and Rebecca's love was real.
kaypatriot5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Yes. Rebecca and Jack were soul mates but Miguel was also her soul mate. These two were devoted to one another at a different phase in their lives where the timing was right. The first half of the episode's back story of Miguel's life was absolutely incredible from his childhood, marriage, work, divorce, family back home, and then reconnecting with Rebecca. He was an exceptional husband and she was the perfect wife. As the song says, "and so it goes.... And so it goes...." Life goes fast.. Kevin has grown into such an amazing man. What he did to get Miguel's son and grandchildren to that cabin in time was beautiful. The ending with Kevin and Miguel's son Andy spreading the ashes on the baseball field in Puerto Rico really tugged on my heart strings. Who knew that 5:48 of a Billy Joel song could end an episode with millions of people mourning the death of our beloved Miguel. This episode was absolutely brilliant. Bravo to the writers, Jon Huertas, and Justin Hartley. I'm a mess 26 hours later.

Warning: Spoilers
When I started watching the show, I didn't understand Miguel's part in their life. I was slightly annoyed and betrayed how he filled Jack's part in Rebecca's life. However, throught the show's six seasons, he became one of my favorite characters of the show.

We all wanted a partner and a friend like Miguel, who honors his best friend's wishes of being there to his family and help them out when he's gone. Miguel's story wrapped up perfectly-even though sadly, but it was right where belongs and deserves, surrounded with people he loved and cared about.

I also love the part where Kevin went to Miguel's son and told him to come and say his goodbyes to his father before it's too late, before he regrets it the way Kevin did as he was not on good terms with his father when he died and did not have the chance to properly saying goodbye to him.

I love this show and all the characters and I'm not ready to say my goodbyes :(

Stunning Episode
aeslehcevoli6 May 2022
As TV fans we crave for episodes like this, it's all make believe but somehow it is made to be so real. Actors acting to a script that has been beautifully written. The direction, the editing, the way it wraps itself around the viewer emotionally was amazing, it was one for the ages.

There isn't many 'stand alone' episodes of TV I can think of that can match this, it was truly stunning.

#lovemiguel.

We Learn About Miguel
shelbythuylinh14 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It is very sad. And really Miguel was torn between both of his American vs Puerto Rico roots and how that he is seen driving a wedge between the three Pearson grown up children.

He denies he is replacing their late father Jack. But in spite of trying to make his wife Rebecca and second husband of hers, final last days comfortable as possible there.

One of the children feel Miguel is driving a wedge though he is trying very hard and you have to feel for him. In taking care of their mother but still he neglects his own health and it could lead to fatal consequences for him.

As he tries also to make amends with his biological family and how that he speaks Spanish with them. But still it seems that they do not want anything to do with him either. So sad. Very sad episode.

Best episode of television I've ever seen

The name of the song at the end is "so it goes" by Billy Joel. This episode had me crying my eyes out. Best I've ever seen by far. Watch it and you won't be sorry.

I'm not crying, you're crying!
thisbe7775 May 2022
I don't necessarily get emotional over a TV show, but this episode did me in. I sobbed. If this is where this is going, the next 3 episodes just might kill me. I have watched it from the beginning, and enjoyed every single episode - they all have been engaging and emotional. It has been one of the best shows on television ever. I will so miss it when it is over. Kudos to the cast and the writers - close to perfection!

Just beautiful

Warning: Spoilers
I always have to drink at least two pints of water while I'm watching This Is Us otherwise I get SO dehydrated from all the crying!

This episode was absolutely no exception. I'm so glad we got to know more about Miguel, his character is one one of my favourites so getting to know his back story was really good.

I did have a sneaking suspicion he wouldn't be making it to the end when I didn't see him around Rebecca's bedside but I'm still so sad to see it.

A simply beautiful episode, from everyone, but especially Jon.

I haven't cried like this since season 4. I can only wish I had someone so devoted to me. I can hope my neice, who was born in 1992, or my daughter, who was born in 2004.

Simply Sublime
themillsies5 May 2022
Having watched every episode I think this is not only the best episode of this wonderful series, but one on the finest pieces of television I can ever remember. It was in a word "beautiful".

Also, a massive round of applause to the makeup crew. We have always been impressed with their efforts, but last night's show just blew us (my wife and me) away. The ageing of the characters was on a level I don't think I have ever seen before and to go from an eight year old to an almost eighty year old in the space of one hour and remain plausible is a feat in itself worthy of praise.

The best episode ever

I can't stop crying. Miguel was an absolute charachter and turn point in Pearson's life. Conservative for everyone and being understimated by them. The Pearsons finally explored the gem hiden in this character. Couldn't be ended up better than this.

"I loved your father. I loved him so much; but I'm in love with your mother now."
trevorgracie5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Miguel and Rebecca's love story is beautiful and I believe this to be the best episode this season. Miguel has been through so much heartache and disappointment in his life despite working hard and doing the right thing. His smile on his face the moment he reconnected with Rebecca that stayed there until he died was beautiful. Jon Huertas is phenomenal as Miguel Rivas. The subtleties of the episode never disappoint from the Mike Rivers application to Sophie and Kevin's matching wedding bands at the end. Showing Kevin at age 27 having his little temper tantrum at the cabin and storming out with Pilgrim Rick's hat, and then seeing him 20 years later lifting Miguel up after putting on Rebecca's slippers and then finally spreading Miguel's ashes with his son Andy over the baseball field in Puerto Rico shows how much Kevin has grown. The last 5:48 with Billy Joel's "And So it Goes" was the greatest ending in TV history. Goodbye Miguel. You were a great Pearson. You were with this family for a long time. God bless you.

Wow! Simply amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
I was not even going to watch this episode. My expectations for seeing a story about Miguel were so low, mostly because there wasn't much of a story on him throughout the series, I think. But this episode GRIPPED me from the first scene and when it ended, and I'm crying at losing him and the beauty of his life and love and devotion. I feel spent now. There was a nice blend of comic relief woven through the episode and seeing Rebecca together with Miguel, I now find them adorable and inspirational. I hadn't felt like that in all 5 preceding seasons. This episode is the crown jewel of the series.

Well, that hit me like a ton of bricks. Warning: Spoilers
The ending of Lost, the ending of Band of Brothers had me emotionally spent. They were just preparing me for this. This episode was incredible, my mind didn't want me to realize that Miguel was gone.

When it allowed my heart to realize that he was, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't stop the emotion pouring out of me.

The fact it's TV and I shed tears of such magnitude speaks volumes of the acting. Just outstanding and the show does it again.

It's being wrapped up perfectly and I'll miss it when it's gone.

I watch next to no TV, this is it really. As it really makes you feel like, This is Us.

As a 34 year old man, who has added children to his life, lost family members and more since this show started, it's been perfect. I will be sad to see the back of it, but looking forward to the last few episodes.
