If it is meant to be, it will!
rajarshig-3872127 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Six years of yearning for them to find their way back to each other and the writers find an authentic way to deliver it. This episode was as close to perfection they could get, keeping in mind all the challenges they had with the ever changing schedules of the actors involved and the Covid pandemic. Credit to the writers for making it feel natural despite being cliched. Sometimes, in this crazy world, predictable is all we need.

I have watched This is Us to feel all the emotions and I can guarantee that this episode goes into the list of one which succeeded. Being terribly invested in this relationship ever since they were a thing, this was a fantastic payoff. Every thing about the episode was well done, and the acting was fabulous! Kevin and Sophie have a way of looking at each other. That intense chemistry is really rare in on-screen couples. I do wish them a happily ever after, as much as Hollywood "rom-comy" it may be. Kevin is, after all, in showbiz by profession.

Lovely written, not boring at all. This is real love not some fairytale love story.

Glad I was home alone

Warning: Spoilers
... Yeah, I cried.

I half expected Kevin and Sophie to have a grand reunion and rekindling of their relationship, but I figured the writers wouldn't go so expectant with the writing.

Well, they did but they didn't! K&S get back together in the most authentic, sort of messy but absolutely not messy at the same time, sort of way. They each have all this baggage, but as individuals have already dropped that baggage off at the Goodwill and purchased new clothes! (Coincidentally? Sophie loses her luggage in this episode and buys a dress at a dry cleaner. Subliminal? I think so! These writers are VERY INTENTIONAL.)

I felt so drawn into this particular episode. (For reference, I'm not a crier or a fan of RomComs. So for this to move ME...)

A nice and warm episode about endless love.
elliottremblay27 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Love it or hate it. It was a nice and pretty episode about the endless love between our dear Kevin and Sophie. The final scene strongly reminds me of Forrest Gump on the bus with Jenny until the end of their lives.

I must admit that it was full of clichés but deep down I was happy and relieved that Kev had found, for a second time, the love of his life.

I admire the morals behind the two adults they have become. Changes and growth are possible for everyone and I found that really inspiring. Well done love story episode with a bunch of our favorite character.

KEVIN KEVIN OH MY KEVIN! Another fabulous episode from season 6.
CHUDMasterPatriot27 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
These writers are the best in the business. Kevin has always been my favorite character in the story is just remarkable Kevin has finally grown up and and seen what he was supposed to. With the help of his brother Randall and his long speech about the Buffalo Bills losing four Super Bowls and what they do with the printing of the loser T-shirts; Kevin sees that he can't keep going backwards. Rebecca's Alzheimer's actually benefited the situation with helping Sophie see how much Kevin has grown. They were 20 when they got married which is way too young. Sophie's been married again. They both love each other and they've both grown. They have evolved and their love story is beautiful and rare. The sorry behind her dress was also amazing. I love them together !!!

Oh the romance of it - finally Kevin and Sophie find their way back to each other. The chemistry between them is SO heartfelt and genuine. If you've watched This Is Us right from the start like me you surely will have cried too.

I'm just waiting for the emotional overload of whatever the final ever episode will bring, but first I'm looking forward to the next one, focusing on the lovely Miguel.

GREAT EPISODE
debb-3491827 April 2022
Best episode I've seen in a while. I love this series when it 1st came out but the past couple seasons I haven't felt it as much. But this was wonderful, they weren't concentrating on all the c*** going on in our society. It was just about family, love, heartache and happiness and hope. Im bawling...

getting to the end game
dolphiea27 April 2022
Watching the last few very calculated episodes.... Getting to where the writers were going from the beginning. Rebecca saves the day again, besides her deteriorating health. The "Kevin's" will always get the breaks, deserving or not... Good luck! P. S. The T. I. U. Actors are so character identified with this show, it's going to be hard for them to move on to future roles without comparisons. I think after season one they all figured that out! Residuals Rock!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
YES, FINALLY!

I've been rooting for these two to get back together since the very beginning. My heart is full with joy, warmth, and happiness. So glad to see two of my favorite characters get the grand everlasting shattering absolutely never-ending love they deserve! 10/10, one of my favorite episodes, and one I'll be rewatching again the future as a hopeless romantic myself.

P. S. The chemistry between the actors is off-the-charts! I think that also contributed to such an amazing episode.

They were young when they met and too young to get married. They got divorced. They grew apart and learned from their mistakes. I'm so happy that they and everyone is happy. Kevin and Sophie are happy. Cassidy is happy. Madison and Elijah are happy. They're all happy. Let's all dance.

THE MOST ROMANTIC EPISODE OF THE SERIES !!!
dimiaifanti30 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
"Sometimes people need to learn how to love theirselves, before they learn how to love someone else. And they need to grow on their own, before being with the love of their lives." That was Kevin's and Sophie's lovestory. Realistic and epic! They were always soulmates, but the timing was never right for them until now. This episode brought them back together in a way that satisfied even the non shippers of the couple. The whole episode could easily be a mini rom com movie. It was well written and directed, with great acting and music. It was very romantic, touching and funny. The chemistry of Justin Hartley and Alexandra Breckenridge was on fire as it always was on the previous seasons. You could feel the love between them through their heart eyes and longing looks. You could feel how much they wanted to be together again. The best moment of the episode was Sophie's speech at the end! It brought tears in my eyes. Breckenridge's performance was outstanding! I wish she could be more on the show.

CANNOT BELIEVE HOW THE QUALITY OF WRITING DIPPED THIS EPISODE
kalebroccolicelery27 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It was poorly done and unearned. Maybe I'm the only one not getting but can someone please help me understand why this ending makes sense??

Here are my main issues with the ending in no particular order: Kevin has cheated on Sophie. I know TV shows have an effect of making us side with the main character but it's pretty hard to get over that.

After cheating on his wife, Kevin ALREADY received a second chance and blew it again!!! Why does he deserve yet another chance?? Just because everyone says he is "different" now and Sophie has spent all of a day with him, she is ready to believe him and go for round 3???

The better lesson here would have been that although you may grow into a better person, that doesn't erase the mistakes of the old you.

Unpopular opinion: The whole episode when Kevin went to Sophie's funeral is straight up emotional cheating, not only did she know this (she acknowledged it was a bad idea if Kevin joined the wake) but she decides to sneak off alone with him in his car, where they reminisce about the past before deciding to part ways. I believe this also planted the seeds that led to her divorce, which makes the whole thing feel less like destiny and more like 2 people pining for each other while one of them is married.

Let's not forget Sophie has now ended 2 separate otherwise healthy relationships because of Kevin. One of them she got married to the guy without actually letting go of her childhood love and still turning to him in her time of need....

The most realistic moment of the episode to me came when Sophie pointed out the toxic dynamic her and Kevin share. Those two have so much familiarity that regardless of how much they hurt each other they find comfort in coming back together. This feels less like a "true love story" and more like 2 people who can't break their bad habits.

Kevin literally tried to sleep with Cassidy RIGHT after his rejection, I'm sorry in what great love story do we have the person do a "hail mary" confession to someone else moments after failing to get with their soulmate.

Kevin keeping that note throughout ALL his previous relationships retroactively makes them all less meaningful and make him kind of an a****** for "committing" so hard with his other partners (Zoe, Madison) when he always had Sophie in his back pocket, literally.

Sorry if it sounds like I hate this show lol, I do enjoy it and I do want this to make sense. Using Rebecca's very painful condition as a quick fix for Sophie's doubts was in poor taste. There's nothing romantic or healthy about waiting around for somebody to grow up. It's insulting.

I don't see how they aren't doomed to a life of constant self doubt. "Why couldn't Kevin ever get it together for me?" "Gee, I hope this isn't the day I slip up and ruin Sophie's life yet again." "Friendly reminder, if we can't make it work, we've wasted decades for no reason."

Use to be such a great show.
thepaddywagon27 April 2022
Really disliked this episode. Love Kevin Hartley, hope he gets another show, but I feel the writing and story telling in this episode to be very sophomoric. Took a long time to tell what we all kinda knew was gonna happen. Wasting valuable time wrapping up a once great series.

Predictable, Cliche and Disappointing
ilva-9636729 April 2022
This episode completely dragged on for no apparent reason. We didn't need all this back story to just find out Kevin gets with Sophie of all people. It was a waste of an episode. People only like Sophie and Kevin because they are so consumed by the fairytale ending. Kevin CHEATED on Sophie, then ruined the relationship again when they were older. This isn't two childhood lives drifting apart and reuniting years later...this is just a toxic mess. I love the childhood romance trope but this IS NOT IT.

This was one of the first episodes to really disappoint me. Completely cliche, predictable and underwhelming. I was really hoping they threw me for a loop.

And don't even get me started on how that Valentine undermined every single relationship Kevin ever had after Sophie. That wasn't romantic, that was weird and disrespectful. It also made no sense on how it even survived. Also didn't they meet at the birthday party??? Or how a Kevin was about to try and hook ups it's Cassidy right before? PLEASE HAVE SOME SELF RESPECT.

Sophie deserved better. End of story.

This Episode is the Heart of "This is Us"
rainey-offield9 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have not cried over an episode of "This is Us" THIS INTENSELY since the episode Jack died.

I have been waiting, wishing, and hoping for the episode that Kevin finds the love of his life. As soon as Rebecca stumbled upon Sophie, up until the end of the episode, I was uncontrollably bawling like a baby.

This is exactly what this show it about. I watch it to cry, to feel, and to long for a family, similar to The Pearson's, of my own one day.

The writers did good by us viewers who have been fans since season one. Thank you, for giving our Kevin the Happy Ever After he has always deserved.

Undeniably heartfelt. Absolutely incredible. 10/10.

ETA: To those saying "Team Sophie"... she has been in love with Kevin her entire life. Wouldn't you root for her to be with the man she loves if you were really "Team Sophie"?

Yes, Kevin cheated and MADE MISTAKES when he was very young. He literally spent his whole life regretting that. With that being said, it's clear that no person will make Sophie happy the way Kevin does. Stop being bitter and trying to make the episode into something it's not.

Team Kophie!

I'm not crying, you're crying
akaash-4734329 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Top 3 episode of the season and one of the best payoffs of the whole show imo. Big props to the writers for the last 7-8 min starting with Rebecca and Sophie's convo. Kev had the storybook romance he's been searching for all along, he just wasn't ready for it before. And that's how real life works: true love isn't perfect and timing is just as important as anything else. Some of the greatest love stories are when 2 people find each other again when they're the best versions of themselves.

This episode truly reminded me how much I love this show and how I am just not prepared for it to be over soon.

This is what THIS IS US is supposed to be
kryptosmaster27 April 2022
After last season and all the PC BS that was shoved at us; this is one of the top episodes of this series. I saw a review calling it boring. Have you been watching since episode 1? I loved it! I hope the series finale is at least as satisfying as this episode.

It's pretty obvious that the show will end with Rebecca's death as all the foreshadowing future scenes have alluded to. It will be sad but hopefully a happy ending as well.

What a romantic episode😍. Best ever 💥💯
wisamo-9227 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is the sixth and final part that increases the radiance and beauty of this series. It contains the best sad episode ever which is the episode of Jack's mother's death and Jack crying for the first time in 4th episode. This episode is also the best romantic episode.. It is impossible to describe the feeling of how wonderful the presentation of the events of the mighty series is... Directing, acting, and appropriate and pictorial music and songs . Kevin and Sophie in the last scene. It is the most beautiful romantic scene in this show.

The ending Kevin and we deserved
melon102630 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I laughed, I cried, and I literally squealed with joy that Kevin and Sophie got their happy ending! It was beautifully written to show true love can win out in the end and in Kevin's case it had always been Sophie. Loved how it showed Kevin has grown and was finally the man that could earn her mother's ring. Seeing Rebecca drive it home to Sophie with that speech was really meaningful and I think convinced Sophie it really was the right time for them finally. And Alexandra Breckenridge stole the show with her two speeches first in the hotel room then at the end. So happy she was able to come back and complete Kevin's story! And that Valentine? Not a dry eye in my house. Maybe my fave episode ever!

I smiled, I cried and then I smiled and cried some more. Kelvin and Sophie really share some intense chemistry. When I saw the previous episode, I liked it but still thought it to be a filler anyways. Now, seeing this, it all makes sense. These writers better stop toying with our emotions, making grown men cry over TV. If anyone had walked in on me and seen my tears, my excuse would have been 'onions'. THIS IS US remains one of my favorite shows of all time.

UHM WHAT? This is no love story.
pm890129 April 2022
Toxic. Toxic. Toxic.

A REMINDER TO NOT CALL YOUR EXES. Talk about an episode disrespecting women left and right.

The Valentine completely invalidated every relationship Kevin was in up until this point. Completely disrespectful to them. Sophie deserved to be with someone who never hurt her, let alone more than once.

TEAM SOPHIE DESERVED BETTER.

Kevin Needs to be Happy
shelbythuylinh14 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Yeah Kevin needs to be happy. And really needs to very much find someone that can really understand him and vice versa there. Someone that can make him happy.

As really Dementia is a pain and beyond. As the three try to make Rebecca's last days to be as comfortable as possible there. But that it could really have to take all three of them.

As that my mom had to deal with her own parents. While they had and sadly succumb to the disease. Doing it about alone while her other four siblings were busy with their lives they helped some. But my mom was the one who led everything as it has to be on all sides.

Really I have grown on Philip and really he is a better and decent man. Toby just really still IMHO wants to be with Kate. But in his case, it is too little too late!

Enjoy the last remaining episodes there.

I was really looking forward to the next episode but this was boring and not the usual eventful heartfelt episode. Is this series ending? I hope not and if it is, I hope not like this.
