After having turned producer with Chalo Dilli, Lara Dutta Bhupathi is now all set for her second film as a producer. This time round, the said film will be based on the true story of the Chhattisgarh Women's Basketball team that made national news last year after winning every possible title in India. Lara, who has now bought the rights to the story, will be producing under her banner of 'Bheegi Basanti Entertainment'. At 'Bheegi Basanti', when we were looking for what we can consider as our second subject, this fantastic story suddenly popped up in our search. Vinay Pathak is easily known for tickling our funny bones. His happy-go-lucky characters in films like Bheja Fry series, Chalo Dilli, Dasvidaniya, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and others have always delighted us. But now shifting his gears, Vinay will be seen in an altogether different role. He plays a freedom fighter in Ananth Mahadevan directed biopic Gour Hari Dastaan.
Though it's quite surprising to see Vinay in such a role, Ananth feels this is a very significant film for the actor.
Ananth on choosing Vinay for his film, says, "Vinay always stays true to the subject. He is vulnerable and has great sense of humor. He is very intelligent and has strong persona. I wonder why he is not given enough roles. He is trying and performing best.. Vinay is sorted as comic actor but I think there's more to him which is unexplored. My film...

It seems Vinay Pathak is in a mood to shift gears!
We have seen him in the most whimsical roles (Dasvidaniya, Chalo Dilli, Bheja Fry series, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Mithya and many more) and throwing away some amazing dry humor punches, but of late the actor is treading the path of doing serious and soul shattering roles. Last he was seen in Varun Dhawan starrer Badlapur, a dark unflinching film, where he portrayed the character (Nawaz's partner in crime) with grey shades.
And now for the first time in his acting career Vinay Pathak will be seen in a biographic film. His next Gour Hari Dastaan - The Freedom File would have him playing a deep and intense character. Besides, he is also playing an 80-year old man for the first time on-screen.

While Amy Jackson replaced Kriti Sanon as the leading lady, yet another actress has been signed for the film. New Delhi, Nov 22: Actress Lara Dutta unveiled her second sari collection Friday in association with Chhabra 555 and says the new range is much more "traditional" compared to her inaugural line.
"I launched my first collection last year, but the unique thing about this range is that it is bit more traditional than the initial one. My whole idea was how different can a sari get in the modern way and this is what I have tried to do," Lara, known for her roles in "No Entry" and "Chalo Dilli", told Ians.
"The designs are not something that we choose to wear once in a blue moon, but it is something that we want to bring out.

That Bollywood is starving of a good comedy is no breaking news. Between ‘strictly adult’ tagged sex comedies and the slapstick ones, it’s been a while since we’ve had a good clean laugh-out-loud film. With the promos look as promising as ‘Bajatey Raho’ did, does the movie deliver as promised?

An avalanche of movies is arriving on screens this weekend, what with as many as four notable releases in the anvil. Primarily word of mouth films, one expects a better start in the multiplexes for Bajatey Raho whereas Nasha should open better in the single screens. As for Issaq, it does look like an interesting film and good reviews coupled with quick word of mouth from audience could give it a chance at the box office. Between these three films, Bajatey Raho has been the most visible of the lot and since it is backed by a premium production house (Eros’ Raanjhanaa is still running in theaters), the release would be widespread as well. A comedy, it could well be a Chalo Dilli moment for director Shashant Shah since the Vinay Pathak-Lara Dutta starrer too had released amidst as many as six films and still emerged victorious. “Mere paas Ma hain!” This iconic line once defined an a whole age of cinema (mainly the 60s and 70s) which was dedicated to upholding the mother’s wishes but is one which – according to actress Dolly Ahluwalia is deteriorating in this new era of film, where the focus is at times on the ‘item’ numbers of a film rather than the actual plot itself (Tees Maar Khan anyone?).

For anyone familiar with the Razzies concept of Hollywood, the ‘Ghanta Awards’ (‘ghanta’ being the slang for ‘rubbish’) is its desi version to celebrate and recognize the worst that Bollywood offers in terms of films, actors, technicians among some other categories.

In a year that boasted some huge family friendly blockbusters and multiple films from some of the biggest stars, it was pretty easy for smaller films with tiny budgets, no big name stars or controversial subjects to fly a little under the radar. Here are ten of the best films that may have been appreciated by the critics, but failed to catch fire at the box office.

Based on British “mockumentary” It’s All Gone Pete Tong, Soundtrack takes a premise that was a source of humour in the original film – a superstar DJ going deaf – and turns it into a touching, surprisingly subtly handled story of a man overcoming his demons and his disability. With a fantastic soundtrack (naturally!), as well as some inventive storytelling, Soundtrack has sex, drugs and rock’n'roll covered, as well as a compelling performance in the lead role from Rajeev Khandelwal.

We not only polled our team we also took into account the scores the films got on IMDb!

After co-producing the well-received Chalo Dilli, Mahesh Bhupathi has now moved on. His next production will be an independent production and that too with Raveena Tandon in the lead. The comedy that Bhupathi will produce with Raveena in the lead is being described as a "Delhi Belly without the expletives but still with the anything-goes mood speed and dialogues." The film goes on the floors later this year and will be directed by Neerav Ghosh whose debut film Soundtrack featuring Rajeev Khandelwal as a deaf DJ, is on release. Neerav's film that Bhupathi has asked Raveena to do is an absolute antithesis. Says a source, "Mahesh has known Raveena for the longest. When he read Neerav Ghosh's script he fell in love with it. It's madcap zany crime caper comedy and requires a housewife as its main protagonist. Mahesh and his director thought Raveena was perfect for the part.
