Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Batman fights a group of armed anarchy cultists and is shot in the torso with a shotgun at very close range, almost causing him to fall to his death. Selina rescues him but then she is attacked by the same assailant. Batman gives himself an adrenaline shot and goes rampant, beating the man offscreen. He is stopped shortly later.
  • We see a glimpse of a photo of a dead man, but the trap itself is shown on several occasions.
  • A man is seen with a bomb which detonates. There is no blood but there is a big explosion.
  • Bella Real, a political figure in Gotham is shot in the shoulder near the end of the movie. It may look as she would die but she survives in the end.
  • A man wearing a dark mask stands in the shadows of a room and attacks another man with a carpet tucker, hitting him repeatedly on the head (we see him lying motionless).
  • The first scene, where the Riddler attacks the mayor, there is little amounts of blood on his face after the attack.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A face of a dead woman is revealed suddenly.
  • The third act involves Gotham City becoming entirely flooded due to Riddler bombing the dams, the film shows the floods destroying streets and buildings as people become submerged in the water, this is very intense and the stakes are high.
  • We hear a recording of a woman screaming and then being strangled. Very disturbing.
  • A man is seen with a cage around his head, rats biting his hands and duct tape around his mouth.
  • During a scene at the end The Riddler begins singing Ave Maria in a very creepy and eerie manner.
  • The Riddler talks about living in an orphanage and about the rats biting his fingers at night; he also talks about the babies dying from it being so cold.
