It is tragic that more than halfway through Death and Other Details. It emerges with its best episode yet.

The show has decided that it has treaded water for too long. Now it is either sink or swim.

There are deaths in this episode. Several reveals, some sadism and truths are told. Viktor Sams might be the big bad, but there are a lot of murky secrets.

You find out just how did Rufus Cotesworth went on to become the world's greatest detective.

Until then the show has kept some of its cards close to its chest. Now it has unveiled some of its tricks.

I think it is still too little too late. The show might not be a total dud though.

Lauren Patten has been great in this role and a real standout week to week and we finally got to see her unleash a true villainous personality in her confrontation with Imogene, including some very choice words. That is the one area of that character's arc that has been missing, with her not really going full throttle business woman and being the friend for too long.

I don't know if this was a particularly memorable episode, but we are now more than halfway through the run and I am still invested in seeing how it all wraps up, something that is not always the case with murder mystery programs like this.
