- Host Alison Sweeney tells the remaining 12 contestants that they will all be on one team this week - the blue team - and they will all have immunity if they beat their weight loss from the previous week. But first, there's a pop challenge in which they have to prepare delicious, healthy, low-calorie meals in under 30 minutes. Chefs Curtis Stone and Lorena Garcia will decide who prepares the best dish, with the winner getting a coveted prize. Later the blue team meets at a rock quarry where they'll have to uncover a buried rope attached to signs with trivia questions. If they answer the questions incorrectly, they will be led in the wrong direction, something all the players want to avoid since the winners get a huge advantage at this week's weigh-in. Later, Dr. Huizenga drops by with impressive medical updates, including the news that one contestant has already reached their goal weight. Then it's time for the weigh-in, when players found out if they all get to stay at the ranch another week - or if they'll be sending one contestant home.—NBC Publicity
- After the latest weigh-in when Sarah was voted off the ranch, Alison tells the remaining contestants that they will now be one team - the blue team - with the only common enemy now being the scale. After that latest weigh-in, Alison informs them that they lost a combine total of 64 pounds. If in this upcoming weigh-in they lose more than a combined 64 pounds, everyone will receive immunity for the week. Dr. Huizenga provides an evaluation for some of the contestants, and has good news for most, but especially good news for one who has already reached goal weight only half-way through the season. As a pop challenge, one person from the old black team will pair with a person from the old red team to cook a dish - any dish - in 30 minutes that will be judged by chefs Curtis Stone and Lorena Garcia. The team that prepares the best dish will win the Biggest Loser Meal Plan from the time they leave the ranch to the finale. The first workout of the week provides the first opportunity for some to train with Bob and Jillian, and some to train with Cara and Brett. The team challenge is one of speed, strength and trivia knowledge that must be completed within 90 minutes. If it is completed within the time limit, the team is rewarded a 5 pound advantage at the weigh-in, but if they don't complete the challenge within the prescribed time, they are given a 5 pound penalty at the weigh-in. The contestants like the week for the common goals and the lack of game playing for the first time this season. At the weigh-in and the aftermath, emotions run high as they get closer to the magic total weight-loss number.—Huggo
- Open after last week's vote. Alison brings the Red team in and tells him this week they will be combining to one single team. One more thing: If the 12 of them combine to lose more than 64 pounds (what they lost last week) nobody will go home this week.
A few of the contestants sit down with Dr. Huizenga nine weeks later. He tells Courtney her body fat is down a reasonable percentage. Marci has no more risk factors and is at her ideal weight. She will now be looking to convert fat to muscle instead of losing weight. Moses has slashed his risk for stroke and diabetes and has extended his life expectancy by several decades.
Alison has a Pop Challenge for the new Blue team. They will be broken teams of two and must make the best meal they can in a half hour. Curtis Stone and Lorena Garcia will be judging based on calories and taste. The winning team gets chef-prepared meals until the finale.
The teams are: Hannah & Ken, Moses & Olivia, Jennifer & Kaylee, Justin & Irene, Austin & Courtney and Marci & Rulon. The top two were Jennifer & Kaylee's turkey tostada and Moses & Olivia's baked cod, with Moses & Olivia winning the challenge.
The trainers learn about the final 12 being condensed to one team and the contestants all having a chance to be safe. The trainers decide Brett & Cara will work with the girls and Bob & Jillian the guys. Bob is excited about finally being able to work with Rulon. Rulon tells Bob his goal is to have a long life with his wife and Bob tells him balance will be the key. Hanna talks to Cara about finally thinking she deserves a full, complete life. Marci enjoys her time training with Cara. Austin has a rough go of it with Jillian, who does her best to motivate him.
This week's challenge is for five pounds. Work in pairs of twos the team will be following a rope underneath the ground to various trivia questions. If they answer correctly they move to the next question and pair of contestants, but if they answer it wrong they have to start over. There is a 90 minute time limit: Under 90 minutes and they get a five minute advantage, over 90 minutes and five pounds are added.
Marci and Rulon take 20 minutes with the first question. Hannah gets hurt after the second question and at the hour mark they are only two questions in. The third question comes at the 1:02 mark. The fourth question is answered with only 20 minutes left. With ten minutes left they are 100 yards away from the finish line. They end up completing the challenge with six seconds to spare.
Next up we see the last chance workout. Brett talks how tough it for the girls to drops weight as they get smaller. Bob takes a special interest in Austin.
Weigh-in time: Alison reminds us of what is at stake with the total team goal of 60 pounds and immunity. Jen is up first and she's lost five pounds (to 191). She's happy. Hanna has lost four pounds (to 176) and is not overjoyed. Olivia is down three pounds to 185 and is emotional. Justin has lost five pounds and is down to 249. He's not thrilled. Rulon did a little bit better, down seven pounds to 335. After five people the total is 24 pounds lost.
Ken has a solid week, down seven pounds to 270. Halfway through the tam has lost 31 pounds. Austin had an even more successful week than his dad, having lost eight pounds and now at 275. The five remaining players need to have lost just over four pounds each.
Courtney is six pounds away from having lost 200 pounds since she started her journey. She comes up just shy, having lost four pounds this week (to 237). Irene hast lost only two pounds (to 178) meaning the final three competitors have to have lost 15 pounds between them.
Moses is up next. He's down six pounds (to 303), which doesn't seem like enough with two of the lighter contestants left. Not surprisingly based on her earlier meeting with the doctor, Marci has not lost any weight. She is still at 162 and starts talking as if her run on the show is over. Kaylee confirms that it's over when she registers a two pound weight gain (to 176). She starts tearing up immediately and says she's shocked. That means someone will have to be voted off this week.
Marci stands up and tells everyone that "It's my time." She grabs Kaylee and tells everyone that she needs to stay on the show. Marci gives her daughter words of advice and (other than Ken) there doesn't seem to be a dry eye in the house.
Courtney says she can't write her mother's name down (huh?) and votes for Kaylee. Moses votes for Marci, but Jen also tells us she simply can't bring herself to write Marci's name on a piece of paper and votes Kaylee. The next four votes are all for Marci and she is eliminated.
During the at-home vignette Marci talks about the message of health.
