In John McPhail’s gorehound musical “Anna and the Apocalypse,” one of the standout world premieres at this year’s Fantastic Fest, our high school heroine (Ella Hunt) sleeps through the start of a worldwide zombie attack, slips on her headphones, steps out her front door, and begins to sing. “It’s a beautiful day!” belts Anna. Is the world ready for a zombie Christmas musical!? We'll find out! The first trailer has just been released for a new horror comedy called Anna and the Apocalypse.
Do you remember the guy who made all those "Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal" videos? His name was Ryan McHenry and the film is based on his BAFTA-nominated short film, Zombie Musical. He tragically passed away of cancer before the movie could enter production, but it did end up getting made, and it looks like it will be a wild and fun flick. Here's the synopsis:
Teenage Anna’s life is typical enough. Chafing against the narrow horizons of her small town, she dreams of bigger things. It’s not so much that she doesn’t love her friends and family — she does — it’s just that they’re all so… familiar. So typical. So predictable. Her childhood best friend...

Hey girl: Even if you think you’ve hit Ryan Gosling Meme exhaustion (the cure? Watch Drive, then you’re good to go again) you’re going to want to check out what the entire Internet has been obsessing about for the past 24 hours: Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal Vines. But they also had a bit of spring in their step, or at least their potential victims did as McHenry's entry into the zombie canon was a full-on singing and dancing musical. The short film - titled simply Zombie Musical - won it creators a BAFTA while also landing them a feature film deal and with that feature now getting closer to the end of the development process the full short has been released online. So put on your dancing shoes and check it below!...
