WrestleMania 31, the WWE’s biggest event of the year is over and we arrive at Extreme Rules, the pay per view that WWE claim is their time once a year to “go extreme”. The PG era has meant that “extreme” in the current WWE climate is very different to what it meant back in Ecw or during WWE’s TV-14 run, but there’s still some interesting stuff booked for this PPV, so let’s see how it all plays out.
On paper this is a mixture of rematches and feuds we’ve seen before, but that doesn’t mean that the matches are going to be bad. The PPV opens with the Chicago crowd popping for Neville, who wrestles Bad News Barrett on the “Kick-off Show”. Daniel Bryan was pulled from the show, so his Intercontinental Title defence against Barrett never happened. Neville got a good reception from the fans and had a decent,...

This Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV main event is something WWE bills as the only night of the year where things go extreme. It’s their way of saying that pretty much every match has a stipulation, but it’s not like it is the only PPV like that. The last TLC PPV had a lot of stipulations too. That’s just typical WWE where they like to forget things.
As diehard wrestling fans, we don’t like to forget things. We want to do things and watch things to remind us of why we are watching in the first place. That’s why whenever there’s a PPV event it’s fun to take a look back at some matches from the past that are good to check out (on WWE Network, of course) as a way to preview the matches that we’re going to see on Sunday.

An officially released promo for WWE’s May pay-per-view WWE Payback has led to speculation online that it could be Seth Rollins defending his World Title against Randy Orton and Roman Reigns.
You can see the promo for yourself below, which certainly hints towards Seth Rollins successfully defending his title against challenger Randy Orton at this Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Dave Meltzer from F4Wonline.com had speculated on a recent Wrestling Observer Live podcast that the creative direction at one point was for Roman Reigns to work a program with Kane after he is done with the Big Show this weekend. Those plans look now to have been switched to putting Reigns back in the main event picture.
Meanwhile, as reported earlier, it looks like a feud between Bray Wyatt and Ryback is the planned direction for both of those upper mid carders. It was...

In a little over a week Randy Orton will face off against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a steel cage at WWE Extreme Rules. Another interesting stipulation for their match is that Randy Orton’s crowd favorite finisher the Rko will be banned from being used. That puts Orton at a disadvantage for sure.
While Seth Rollins is still in the future for Orton at Extreme Rules he has plenty of history to build off of. This Pay-Per-View event has been around for 6 years and The Apex Predator has had a match at every event. He’s fought in a variety of stipulations including Falls Count Anywhere and Last Man Standing while facing off against elite competition such as Batista and Cm Punk. Orton has a split record at the event: 3 wins and 3 losses.

Though they were few actual extreme rule stipulations at the 2014 Extreme Rules Pay Per View, there were certainly extremes when it came to the quality of the matches. Stuck right at the beginning of the no man’s land between Wrestlemania and SummerSlam that inevitably finds the WWE effectively presenting the PPV as the hangover after the big Mania blowout, Extreme Rules was an evening of highs and lows.
Starting with those lows, John Cena facing off against Bray Wyatt in a steel cage might have seemed the next logical step after their Mania lock up, and to be fair to WWE Creative they’d tried to pull out all the stops to build it up in the weeks prior to Extreme Rules, but the reality of the match was that it was dull. After trying numerous times to escape the cage, only to be thwarted by continuous interference by...

WWE Extreme Rules 2014 see the action from the Izod Centre New Jersey, where John Cena continues his feud with the Wyatt Family taking on Bray in a steel cage match. Extreme Rules Pre-show Match – WeeLC Match – Hornswoggle vs. El Torito (a DVD/Blu-ray Extra)
What the hell is a WeeLC match, you may ask. Well, I asked the same damn thing. Is it a match in which combatants can use chairs, ladders and urine to defeat their opponents? No, it isn’t, though that sure would have been a spectacle. The WeeLC match is WWE’s way of amusing itself with puns. This is a midget TLC match in which no holds are barred.

Extreme Rules 2014 was the first proper ‘special event’ of the new WWE era, a night in which the new generation of stars had their chance to shine, and in most cases, this proved to be what happened – Cesaro, Paige, Rusev, Bray Wyatt, The Shield and Daniel Bryan all proved successful. WWE is all about ‘in with the new’ and ‘out with the old’ right now, which made for an entertaining night, although this was hardly an event that we will still be talking about a year from now. Extreme Rules 2014 was solidly in the upper-mid region of event quality.
The opening match in New Jersey was Cesaro vs Rob Van Dam vs Jack Swagger. Previous to this, there had been a pre-show on the Network of Hornswoggle vs El Torito in a WeeLC match. As you would expect from a midget contest, it was ludicrous, made more so...

Seth Rollins lived up to the ‘Extreme’ moniker of last night’s WWE pay per view, diving at least ten feet off an arena balcony!
The crazy leap on to Triple H, Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose was the ‘Oh my God!’ moment of the night.
No doubt about it, Rollins will be feeling the repercussions this morning. The velocity of crashing through three men would have been sore in itself, the resulting impact with the arena floor also offering up a world of pain. The only thing protecting his bones from the concrete was a very thin rug!
This spot was reminiscent of the crazy balcony dives we used to see Super Crazy do back in the old Ecw. By recreating the spot, Rollins ended up being the one true star of the Extreme Rules pay-per-view who really embraced the event origins as a hardcore show. There was...

The WWE Extreme Rules event is likely going to feature some crazy moments simply because with several stipulation matches on the card that’s what they’re promising the fans. It’s not going to be as wild as some WWE events in the past, though. That’s because the company’s PG rating has forced them to be a lot more careful in terms of the wild matches. There are still some physical brawls in WWE, but nothing compared to what it was.
What we’re here to look at today are some of WWE’s wildest matches ever. What makes a match wild? A number of things do like the uses of weapons such as ladders, tables, chairs, kendo sticks and whatever else a wrestler can get his hands on. Blood certainly helps. Visible pain comes to mind too.

In the 4 weeks since WrestleMania 30 the WWE has been steadily travelling on the road to its next pay per view, Extreme Rules. Of course the whole concept of ‘Extreme Rules’ is a façade in the current WWE PG Era. Extremes of one sort or another are strictly forbidden. Evidently, apart from the namesake of ‘Extreme’ in ‘Extreme Rules’, the pay per view is not likely to feature any hardcore violence, blood or for that matter anything but PG friendly wrestling.
While this would ordinarily be disappointing for many fans looking for the WWE to get in touch with its extreme side, it would seem that in 2014 the WWE has made an attempt at appeasing them by compensating its lack of extremity with a well developed PPV show featuring interesting and exciting confrontations. From the reunion of Evolution and the re-masking of Kane to the resurgence of women’s wrestling and...

WWE Extreme Rules is the first pay-per-view or “special event” after testing the waters with the WrestleMania XXX with WWE Network. Now, most cable providers aren’t even carrying the event, so it’ll be interesting to see how WWE handles this event. Certainly the urgency isn’t exactly the same as viewers through WWE Network are already locked into a monthly plan. Historically, Extreme Rules has always been one of the better shows throughout the year and the hope is that the trend is continued.
El Torito Vs. Hornswoggle (Pre-show ‘Weelc’ Match)
The play on the acronym “TLC” and turning it into “WeeLC” is just so absurd. With that said, this should be a very entertaining match regardless of how meaningless it is. Extreme Rules is a seven match card that promises to be WWE’s ‘hardcore’ event of the year. Emanating from New Jersey this May 4th, the main event of Evolution versus The Shield is being pushed hard as the main event. That’s the match which will sell the pay per view, the bout people are going to tune into the Network to see. Throw in Cena vs Wyatt in cage, alongside WWE Champion Daniel Bryan against Kane in an ‘Extreme Rules match’ and we have a very intriguing night ready to unfold.
Previous years have ended up being very good, despite WWE limitations on blood and violence, the event does often live up to its ‘extreme’ billing. Most memorable was the epic encounter between John Cena and Brock Lesnar in 2012. Could anything this year compare to that level of brilliance? With some of the stacked talent in the big matches,...

How do you follow an event like WrestleMania XXX? After a show that gave us so many emotional highs and lows, shock and elation, it’s best to go another way entirely. An extreme way.
While I enjoyed the idea behind the Backlash PPV – tying up loose ends after WrestleMania, in less of a pressure cooker than the Grand Daddy of Them All – I think the Extreme Rules idea is even better. It doesn’t need to compete with the energy of WrestleMania, because Extreme Rules exists on a different plane entirely. We turn to Extreme Rules for hard-core wrestling thrills. Gimmicks and violence that are more rarely showcased, trotted out for our perverse pleasure.
While this year’s card looks less hard-core, more intense, everyone is talking about the changing of the guard. The Shield, Cesaro, Rusev, and Wyatt. Bad News Barrett and Paige. All highly-lauded by the fans,...

Extreme Rules promises to be a night of unpredictability, a ‘special event’ with several teases built up over the last few weeks on Raw. The drama will unfold this weekend from New Jersey, with the main event set as Evolution Vs The Shield. The co-main events are John Cena vs Bray Wyatt (in a steel cage) and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan defending against Kane (in an Extreme Rules match).
The rest of the card is made up of Big E defending his Intercontinental title against Bad News Barrett, Paige defending the Divas title against Tamina Snuka, Alexander Rusev vs R Truth and Xavier Woods (2 on 1 handicap match), and finishing off the undercard is Cesaro vs Jack Swagger vs Rob Van Dam.
There are numerous questions circulating around the internet wrestling community - who will walk out winner? What will happen? Who could return? Is John Cena going heel?...

The final edition of Raw prior to Sunday’s Extreme Rules Special Event (or Pay-Per-View) saw WWE finalize the card by adding a couple of matches to the card. We have known the top three matches for several weeks now with Raw devoting plenty of time to all three of them in the build up to this event.

The Shield (Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins) vs. Evolution (Triple H, Batista & Randy Orton) – There is no stipulation announced for the match. Ric Flair appeared on Raw on Monday. We don’t know if he’ll be there on Sunday night.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship (Extreme Rules Match): Daniel Bryan vs. Kane – Bryan defends the WWE Championship against his former tag team partner.
Steel Cage Match: John Cena vs.

When WWE Extreme Rules takes place on May 4th from East Rutherford, New Jersey it’s going to be a show that will continue the theme of WrestleMania 30 as WWE continues to push its younger stars to the forefront. We saw the likes of Daniel Bryan, The Shield, Bray Wyatt and Cesaro in prominent roles. What’s next for them?
Now that the Extreme Rules lineup is set, there are questions about what may happen and more importantly what we hope to happen. As wrestling fans, we just want the product to be exciting. We’re not used to WWE staying stagnant with their programming. They always have to keep going forward.
Daniel Bryan is now the man, so we want to know how they’re going to keep him strong and book him as a credible World Champion. Then we want to see who the next big thing is.

Triple H has announced Evolution will take on The Shield at Extreme Rules, making the match official during the opening segment of this week’s Smackdown taping. Hunter went on to talk about Evolution reforming on Raw, touting the group as WWE’s most successful faction ever.
The news of the Shield vs Evolution becoming a main event for Extreme Rules was expected, this was internally a long term plan going back before WrestleMania 30. What was under question was if Daniel Bryan would be added to the match, with the conclusion to the April 7th Raw hinting he could be included along with Kane to make the clash a four vs four.

The first official match has been announced for the Extreme Rules Special Event (Pay Per View) on May 4th in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Cena challenged Wyatt to a match at Extreme Rules. It wasn’t just any match, though. It was a Steel Cage Match. Wyatt accepted.
It will be interesting to see how they book the match. Cena won clean at WrestleMania, so he really doesn’t need another win unless they want to end the feud there. In this week’s Wrestling Observer newsletter, it was stated that the term “pay-per-view” will be no more in WWE since the network is firmly in place in the United States now. We have used the “PPV” term for nearly 30 years now, but now they’re going to be called special events.
The next special event on the WWE calendar is the annual Extreme Rules show. It’s an event that in the past has seen every match on the card use some kind of stipulation while other years only the top matches had a stipulation. While there’s no telling what WWE might plan for the May 4th event in terms of stipulations, we do know enough about current feuds to try to put together a lineup for the show.

The Shield (Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose) vs Evolution (Triple H, Orton, Batista) has been pitched as one potential main event for Extreme Rules. The source of this information, F4Wonline, adds that it will depend on who challenges Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship.
There’s further speculation that the Shield vs Evolution match will take place inside the War Games environment. This was a WCW gimmick which had two rings inside steel cages with a roof on top. The F4Wonline discussion commented that this probably won’t be the case. The idea of bringing back War Games has been mentioned several times over the years, usually being shot down by Vince McMahon.
Despite this, with Triple H now driving creative and being an old school wrestling aficionado, there does seem more chance than ever that a War Games revival could happen. It would also coincide with May...

The first pay per view following Wrestlemania, Extreme Rules is the one PPV of the year that sees the WWE let their performers loose in matches that are hyped as some of the most dangerous and exciting of the year, with an “anything goes” attitude and all weapons, objects and nefarious means legal… Yeah WWE, go tell that to someone less gullible. What it actually means is that the WWE allows the use of chairs, tables and cages in their PG rated show.
Stipulations in this years Extreme Rules matches include a Steel Cage match (Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar), a Last Man Standing match (John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar), a Strap match (Mark Henry vs. Sheamus) and an I Quit match (Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger). Other matches feature a laughable one on one between Fandango and Chris Jericho, Tag Team Championship Match: Team Hell No vs. The Shield,...

WWE Extreme Rules was going to see a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Jack Swagger, former World Champion Alberto Del Rio and the current champion Dolph Ziggler in what promised to be an interesting showcase of the three superstars talents. The anticipation for the match, compared to some Whc bouts in recent memory was quite high as the superstars would no doubt have some time to strut their stuff with the absence of people like Cm Punk. However soon it became clear that due to a concussion Dolph Ziggler would not be able to compete in the match and the bout was changed to a #1 contender’s match for the title between Del Rio and Swagger with an ‘I Quit’ stipulation and with that the interest waned.
Many people believe that the ‘I Quit’ stipulation is a waste of time and has no place in...

WWE Extreme Rules airs live on PPV tonight, with several hardcore matches. Here are our predictions on tonight’s festivities.
Chris Jericho vs. Fandango
These two will have a rematch of their Wrestlemania match and it will be hard to see Chris Jericho lose clean to Fandango twice in a row. No stipulations are set for the match, so expect some sort of botched finished for this match. That way, Fandango can stay hot and Jericho won’t look weak. Call me crazy, but I have a hunch sometime down the road, these two men will team up and both be good guys. After all, WWE would love to sell some Fandango T-shirts and more iTunes song downloads. Fandango showed off his aggressive and sneaky side this past Monday night on Raw and this Sunday, Chris Jericho will win via disqualification. We’ll go with a stereotypical low blow being caught by the referee.

With Extreme Rules on the horizon, it seems kind of strange to have a show title that conjures up ideas and visuals of blood and violence in an age of WWE programming that is so opposed to ethos. So, I wanted to take a look back and talk about some of the best and most extreme matches from the vaults of the WWE, and most of them you can find on You Tube or various DVD box-sets.
To be clear, I have excluded many gimmick matches like Cage, Hell in a Cell etc. They can compose a number of different lists all together. But, I have opened this up to include hardcore, falls count anywhere or anything else that involves weapons or outside area spots, as these matches are often very much the same idea. And, the list is drawn from the WWE/WWF product not Ecw, WCW etc. If...

Post Wrestlemania season is often an interesting time in the WWE calendar and this year has seen a number of surprising developments. We’ve seen a new World Heavyweight Champion crowned and then injured; the Intercontinental and Us title have changed hands and the rise of ‘Fandango-ing’.
Extreme Rules is often the culmination of Wrestlemania feuds and this year is no exception though we have seen the rise of some interesting new feuds, most notably in the tag team division. Ryback and Cena will also meet for the first time this Sunday in what promises to be a brutal encounter.
Here’s my predictions for the events matches…
Pre card match: The Miz Vs Cody Rhodes
For a long time now WWE have been airing matches on Youtube prior to the airing of PPVs. Most of these matches have been of little interest to fans but at least there has been some reasoning behind them.

It is that time of year again. Wrestlemania season is over and it’s time for the WWE to get extreme. Many fans look forward to this event each year as we are currently still stuck in the PG era meaning we don’t normally get this type of excitement often enough. Ladder matches, Tables matches, Cage matches are all in play and all on the same pay per view. Extreme Rules is an event that raises the bar for a superstar’s reputation. This yearly pay per view has the potential to take a wrestler who may be thought of as soft and toughen him up by giving him the chance to show he can hang in the land of hardcore.
Now being a long time fan I am well aware that the origin of Extreme Rules came from the idea of the Ecw One Night Stand pay per views.

Come on everybody. WWE has given you a nice 6 week break between their PPV’s so it’s time for you to return the favour and cough up your hard earned wages and invest in what is shaping up to be an underwhelming event with a fair to middling card.
If you’re still in two minds as to whether or not you’ll be ordering the event live on pay-per-view this Sunday then let us help you to make up your mind once and for all as we dust off our new and improved crystal ball. The last one gave up the ghost after one horrible Wrestlemania too many so let’s see if this one’s any better.

WWE.com is reporting that WWE Champion John Cena has suffered an injury to his right Achilles tendon whilst performing on the current European tour.
The injury occurred during a match with Ryback, his scheduled opponent for his forthcoming title defence at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view on May 19th from St. Louis, Missouri. That match must now be in doubt given Cena’s injury but the biggest loser in the situation could be his current challenger Ryback, whose push may need to be halted.
WWE revealed the news with the following statement;
WWE.com has learned that WWE Champion John Cena sustained an injury during WWE’s European tour. The WWE Champion injured his right Achilles tendon while battling Ryback.
WWE.com had no further update on the injury at the time of writing but one must consider it to be a serious one if they have publicly revealed it in this manner.

After an explosive week in the WWE, fans can now sit back and try to figure out just what is happening in wrestling. Ryback turns on John Cena, Mark Henry gets a possible title shot, The Undertaker and Kane re-unite once more, The Shield have a new target, Randy Orton and Big Show is set for Extreme Rules, several stars are missing, Dolph Ziggler cashes in and wins, The Rock is injured, Cm Punk is left out of the picture and Brock Lesnar and Triple H isn’t really addressed, the creative team are pushed to produce a show and it just turned out to be amazing… and that was in the space of 48 hours!!
To try and make sense of any of this is almost impossible, but with some many superstars getting a push, here are three matches that will happen at Extreme Rules:

Mexican wrestling publication Super Luchas Magazine reports that Ezekiel Jackson recently failed the WWE Wellness Policy. Jackson reportedly failed for testing positive for high levels of synthetic testosterone.
However, Jackson avoided the usual 30 day suspension for a first violation as he was able to provide a valid prescription from his doctor for taking the unnamed banned substance.
The report from Super Luchas claims to solve the mystery of the third WWE superstar who failed the WWE Wellness Policy in quick succession after Randy Orton (who is currently serving his 60 day suspension for his second violation) and Cody Rhodes. Although in the case of the latter, just like Jackson, Rhodes was able to provide a valid prescription from his doctor for the banned drug he was taking and he also avoided suspension, though was forced to drop the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Christian at WWE Extreme Rules when it looked certain...

As ever in pro wrestling it is hard to know where “the shoot” starts and “the worked angles” begins…
F4WOnline reports that sources in both WWE and Ufc are skeptical over just how bad Brock Lesnar and Ufc President Dana White’s recent meeting went. White claimed last week that the recent talk with Lesnar was one of the worst they had ever ever shared and was not part of a Ufc/WWE agreement to further Lesnar’s current “quit” storyline with the WWE.
Sources within WWE almost universally agree that Vince McMahon has an iron-clad contract with Lesnar which rules him out of fighting for Ufc until after WrestleMania 29 on on April 7, 2013. Ufc officials however are suggesting that Lesnar’s limited dates deal with the WWE is non-exclusive and that he and Dana White were discussing a potential fight, perhaps for the Autumn after WWE SummerSlam in August,...

In a further update to Brock Lesnar having “nuclear heat” with WWE officials for attending the Ufc 146-pay-per-view and meeting Ufc President Dana White without any prior notice, F4WOnline.com has shed more light on how Vince McMahon reacted to the situation.
Reports are that McMahon was so furious that it took his son-in-law Triple H to talk him out of “doing something drastic”. As to the nature of what that would be, it is unknown, but it would probably mean firing Lesnar and going through all the complications of what that would bring.
As for why Triple H talked McMahon out of “doing something drastic”, it may not have just been for the good of the company as many insiders are being led to believe that Triple H is going over in the planned Lesnar vs Hhh match at August’s WWE SummerSlam 2012 pay-per-view. Brock Lesnar reportedly has “nuclear heat” in the WWE stemming from his much publicised appearance at the Ufc 146 pay-per-view.
Vince McMahon had no advanced knowledge that Lesnar was planning to visit the event and speak with Ufc President Dana White and it was a surprise to everyone in the WWE when he turned up at the show. Even before Ufc 146, Lesnar had been a pain in the ass for McMahon to deal with behind-the-scenes, which all started at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view backstage after John Cena cut a promo to the crowd instead of being stretched to the back after a Lesnar beating, as scripted.
In truth, Lesnar was always difficult to work with on his first run ten years ago but with him making far more money and working less dates, he’s almost impossible to work with now. He still hates wrestling and prefers real, competitive sports...

WWE may switch the expected Brock Lesnar vs Triple H WWE SummerSlam match in August to June’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view instead, according to F4WOnline.com.
Their sources within the WWE suggest that officials are “in a panic” over the Lesnar/Hhh storyline and that they are really concerned about how long they can keep the momentum and interest in the feud going without Lesnar making any appearances until late July, just weeks before SummerSlam.
Last week, WWE brought back Lesnar’s former on and off screen mentor Paul Heyman and thrusted him into the storyline as Lesnar’s “legal advisor” with the idea being that he could be the mouthpiece that would keep the feud going with Lesnar off TV because WWE don’t want to use up all his limited dates his contract. WWE bringing back the No Way Out pay-per-view name is designed so they can once again host a gimmick filled event, similar to the recent WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Originally the idea was for No Way Out to be a card full of Steel Cage matches, but now the thought is they will extend the gimmicks to other matches that have no escapes or are extremely tough to escape from.
So as well as the obvious Cage and Hell in a Cell matches, the current plan is to include a Strap Match and a Lumberjack Match and other creative bouts of that ilk.
PWInsider.com reports that the current plan for the Strap Match is an end of feud match between Big Show and Cody Rhodes for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. That would likely be their fourth straight pay-per-view match as they fought each other at both WWE WrestleMania 28 and...

This is the second time this week that an ‘injured’ WWE superstar has been seen fit and healthy out in the public. Last Monday night on WWE Raw, John Cena played up an ‘injured’ angle after being destroyed by Brock Lesnar in his WWE Extreme Rules match. Cena said live on Raw he would be ready to fight in weeks even though the doctors had encouraged him to stay away from wrestling for months.
After Raw went off the air, John Cena came to the ring and in a dark match fought and beat Kane. This isn’t the first time this week that the WWE have messed up on injuries.

Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio vs Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title fatal four way match at WWE Over The Limit PPV was announced on last night’s edition of WWE Raw. The multi-man title match replaces Sheamus vs Del Rio for the World Title that was previously announced on SmackDown.
No indication as to why the match-up was changed just yet, but I’m guessing it might possibly be to prolong a feud between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton into a singles bout at June’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view.
Also added to the pay-per-view card is a WWE Divas Title match between Layla (c) and Beth Phoenix. Phoenix has been due her Divas title match having been replaced at the WWE Extreme Rules PPV by Layla after Beth was injured.

More details on Brock Lesnar’s tantrum backstage after WWE Extreme Rules on Sunday (which we reported on Here) have been revealed by F4WOnline.com.
Brock Lesnar’s camp are under the impression that WWE were testing Brock Lesnar by misinforming him on what was going to happen post his main event match with John Cena on Sunday. As we reported earlier, Brock was happy to lose to Cena on the night because he thought he would be put over as a monster during the match (which he successfully was) but post-match he would be kept strong by being able to walk to the back whilst Cena would be the victor, but would need to be carried back on a stretcher and totally incapacitated.
That of course never happened and instead Cena was able to stand-up and deliver a speech to the crowd whilst Lesnar faded into the background.

Brock Lesnar went ballistic backstage following his match against John Cena at WWE Extreme Rules.
PWinsider reports that Lesnar was screaming at company officials and started ripping apart the locker room after being pissed at Cena’s post-match speech and promo at the pay-per-view. T
The original plan was that Lesnar had beaten up Cena to such a degree that he would need to be stretchered out of the building, whereas Lesnar, despite defeat, would be kept strong by being able to walk off to the back. Instead Cena was on his fight and giving a speech to the crowd. Lesnar perceived this to be a big double cross by WWE officials and John Cena. There is now said to be legitimate heat between Lesnar and WWE/Cena.

WWE.com posted an article after Monday Night Raw revealing that The Bella Twins had been fired from the company.
In a “WWE.com exclusive” video that accompanied it on Youtube, the Executive Administrator to John Laurinaitis, Eve Torres, fired the twins due to the “bad economy” as their contracts were up. You can watch the video, hammy acting an all, below;
The storyline of The Bella Twins being fired from the WWE is their reason for leaving the company. The twins contracts are actually expiring and they have declined offers to extend as they want to pursue other interests outside of wrestling.

In a “WWE.com exclusive” video that accompanied it on Youtube, the Executive Administrator to John Laurinaitis, Eve Torres, fired the twins due to the “bad economy” as their contracts were up. She gave her the “Best of luck with your future endeavors” speech as the pair responded with “Good luck in finding twins like us!”.

So John Cena’s apparent “retirement” esque “taking time off” speech after he defeated Brock Lesnar in a bloody and brutal brawl at WWE Extreme Rules was for nothing after all…
On last night’s WWE Raw, John Laurinaitis announced that he will face John Cena at the WWE Over the Limit pay-per-view for May.
It initially looked like Cena’s opponent for the PPV was going to be Lord Tensai when his music played and he came down to the ring with Sakomoto but Laurinaitis instead hit Cena to the back of the head with his microphone and said; “your opponent at Over the Limit is Me!”.
It goes without saying however that Lord Tensai and Sakomoto will be at ringside for the contest or will interfere at some point and hopefully this isn’t just building to a John Cena vs Lord Tensai feud over the summer as...

WWE Extreme Rules is the time of year where stipulation matches take centre stage, so what better time to look back at some of the strangest gimmick matches in wrestling history.
Kennel from Hell
Watch It Here
So a retired prison guard steals your dog, invites you over and tricks you into eating him. How do you get revenge? Challenge them to a, “Kennel from Hell” that’s how! On paper it sounded intimidating. A cage surrounding the ring, a hell in the cell surrounding that and in between those rabid dogs. The only way to win was to escape both cages and outrun those angry dogs. Sounds exciting. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
The first (and last) “Kennel from Hell,“ took place at WWF Unforgiven 1999, between Al Snow and the Big Bossman. Unforgiven was already an odd event before the Kennel even came out. The first match of the evening...
