Ana Paula Arósio and Fábio Assunção were originally cast as the series' romantic leads. However, Arósio was fired after constant delays and absences, while Assunção left for rehabilitation. They were replaced by Paolla Oliveira and Gabriel Braga Nunes respectively, and all their scenes were reshot. Nunes and Arósio would then star in The Moving Forest (2015), her first role in a major production after leaving Brazilian television.
As ordered by Rede Globo and for unknown reasons, a scene of Eduardo and Hugo's gay storyline (the couple's love encounter at a motel) was cut and re-shot at Hugo's house. The storyline itself was hence reduced in the series.
Ana Paula Arósio abruptly left the series during filming, as well as Brazilian telenovelas. She has sporadically starred in movies since then.
During the filming of this soap opera, Giovanna Lancellotti was only 18 years old and still a virgin. However, the actress had to shot the first time for the character Cecília, even without having any sexual experience in real life.
"I was very nervous, because I didn't know how to do it since I had never done it. I panicked," she says. "It was a scene with Jonatas Faro, who is my partner, and I explained to him, and he was a super gentleman. He was not a virgin, he already had a child", the actress recalls.
Paloma Bernardi and Petrônio Gontijo's brief credits on Globo TV before they went back to Record TV dramas. Bernardi, however, took a little longer: she also guest starred Brave Woman (2012) and Seize the Day (2009) before leaving Globo for Record.
