A reporter at the Capitol approached Texas Sen. Ten Cruz (R). Cruz appeared to be in an upbeat mood when the conversation began. However, Cruz turned defensive when questioned about his podcast, Verdict, and the questionable payments surrounding it.
“I understand you have a mission to write an attack piece,” Cruz told the reporter.
The thrice-weekly Verdict podcast hosted by Cruz has raised legal and ethical questions. In March, the Houston Chronicle reported that iHeartMedia gave “Truth and Courage,” a super Pac supporting Cruz’s reelection, more than $630,000. iHeartMedia hosts Cruz’s podcast.
Campaign laws forbid candidates from corresponding with super PACs that support them. While it is not yet confirmed that Cruz has directly supported Truth and Courage, the connection between his podcast and iHeartMedia could raise legal trouble for the senator.
The Campaign Legal Center and End Citizens United have already filed a complaint against Cruz with the Federal Election Commission.

Bigg Boss 17 Winner Munawar Faruqui is again in trouble with the authorities. By now, reports of the standup comedian being detained have circulated everywhere. Police detained Munawar after a raid was conducted at an alleged illegal hookah parlor. But amongst new allegations and rumors, an old clip of Munawar urging fans not to do drugs is going viral, and he is causing the public’s backlash because of it.
The news comes in just days after the reports of another Bigg Boss alum, Elvish Yadav, being arrested spread like wildfire. Faruqui is not a stranger to controversies; he was first arrested in the middle of a comedy show in 2021 for hurting religious sentiments. The office of Former First Lady Michelle Obama has declared that she has no plans to run for president in this year’s election.
On March 5, Obama’s office ended talks of her possible run for president in a bid to silence frequent speculation and wishful thinking about her taking the Democratic nomination from President Joe Biden.
“As former first lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” Crystal Carson, the communications director of the former first lady’s office, declared in a statement. “Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris‘ re-election campaign.”
This statement comes after Republicans like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy publicly encouraged the idea that Obama could replace Biden on the ballot.
Many Republicans and conservative commentators fueled speculation that Obama could come in at the last minute,...

Fighter Box Office Day 2 Vs 26 January Collections ( Photo Credit – YouTube; IMDb )
Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter had a thunderous roar on the second day of release at the box office. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the action-drama collected almost 41.20 crore on January 26, a National Holiday. However, the advance booking did not ensure such a massive number.
But the mood of the nation for this war film was witnessed clearly with a massive jump from the opening day. The film opened at 24.60 crore on day one and jumped by almost 67% on day 2, which was a National Holiday.
The word of mouth for the film, which was brilliant, also pushed the numbers on the second day. The opening day for Fighter was lukewarm, but if taken into consideration the fact that it was a working day, the gaze for the film’s earnings definitely changed.

Jonathan Majors is all set to appear for his first interview after being found guilty of assault on former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. He lost his part as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU owing to his guilty verdict.
In December 2023, Majors was found guilty, and a six-person jury reached the verdict. The actor was accompanied by his family and now-girlfriend Meagan Good. The charges against him include misdemeanor and violation, and he could face imprisonment for up to a year. Majors rose to fame after getting the role of Kang the Conqueror in the MCU,...

This article contains spoilers for The Lincoln Lawyer seasons 1 and 2.
It is a tumultuous time in Hollywood currently. The Writer’s Guild of America has now surpassed 100 days of strike action, and SAG-AFTRA is showing solidarity right beside them. Many television and film productions have been put on hiatus, which begs the question – has The Lincoln Lawyer even been renewed at this juncture?
Ted Humphrey, showrunner for the Netflix hit, confirmed that he and his writing team had already been working on a season 3 before the WGA began their strike action. An official renewal has not been announced, and there may be a delay in production for obvious reasons, but chances still look good we’ll see Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) and his team again. And thanks to the precedent set by the Mickey Haller book series, we have a good idea of what to expect from season 3.

The list includes actors, directors, writers, producers, musicians, executives, artist reps, publicists and below-the-liners such as casting directors, cinematographers, costume designers, film editors, makeup artists and hairstylists, production designers and sound pros.
“The Academy is proud to welcome these artists and professionals into our membership,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said in a statement. “They represent extraordinary global talent across cinematic disciplines and have made a vital impact on the arts and sciences of motion pictures and on movie fans worldwide.”

After giving the green light to Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2, Hulu is all about that cult life. Nicole Kidman is returning to executive produce and star alongside a gathering of new characters. Liv Ullmann, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie-Richardson-Sellers (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), and Aras Aydin star as members of the cast. More actors will follow.
Based on Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty’s book, Nine Perfect Strangers hails from David E. Kelley, and “it takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (played by Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what will hit them.”

Another limited series is getting the ongoing series treatment.
Hulu has officially picked up Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2, almost two years after the freshman season wrapped.
Variety first reported the news, revealing that Nicole Kidman would return to star and executive produce.
This isn't the first limited series with Kidman at the wheel to score a surprise second season:
HBO's Big Little Lies famously returned to tell more stories about the characters from Big Little Lies Season 1.
Kidman will, once again, play the role of resort director Masha.
But the rest of the cast from Nine Perfect Strangers Season 1 is not expected to return.
Instead, the hit streaming series is targeting some more big names for the next chapter.
Variety reports that White Lotus and Last of Us star Murray Bartlett is nearing a deal to star.

“Nine Perfect Strangers” has officially been renewed for Season 2 at Hulu.
Variety reported in May 2022 that the show was nearing a deal to return, though no castings were confirmed at that time. It is now confirmed that Nicole Kidman will return in the role of resort director Masha as well as in her capacity as executive producer.
In addition, “White Lotus” and “The Last of Us” breakout Murray Bartlett is nearing a deal to star in Season 2, according to sources. The role would deepen Bartlett’s relationship with Hulu, as he recently starred in the streamer’s limited series “Welcome to Chippendales” opposite Kumail Nanjiani.
Also joining “Nine Perfect Strangers” for its second season are Liv Ullmann, Dolly De Leon, Maisie Richardson Sellers, and Aras Aydin.

This review contains She-Hulk spoilers
Our She-Hulk: Attorney at Law reviews will be adopting a different format than the one we use for MCU shows with longer episodes; more of a breakdown that we hope will still satisfy regular readers but also help those less familiar with the MCU keep up.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at episode one, “A Normal Amount of Rage”.
The Case: What Happened?
We first meet gamma radiation-imbued lawyer Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) as she is practicing a terrific closing argument for an upcoming case. Friend and paralegal Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) is in cheerleader mode, supporting Jen before they take to the court, while fellow lawyer Dennis is telling her it would be better if he, a man, took over. Men, eh? Tch!
Full disclosure: I’ve seen the first four episodes of this series and there are more heavy-handed “Men,...

[Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Triangle of Sadness”]
Dolly de Leon doesn’t get very far in Cannes without being stopped in the street by enthusiastic fans. The scene-stealing Filipina actor stars in Ruben Östlund’s festival sensation “Triangle of Sadness,” where her every line has so far prompted cheers in press and public screenings alike.
De Leon plays Abigail, a toilet manager on a chaotic cruise ship who gets her own back on her bosses and guests when, well, shit hits the fan. Her story is just one part of Östlund’s searing commentary on privilege, greed and power — but Abigail’s power play, exquisitely brought to life by de Leon’s deadpan delivery, is what audiences will remember.
The overnight success at the world’s foremost film festival, where Neon acquired the movie, is all very new to de Leon, who is still a gigging actor back home in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
