Glorious Ending
SHU_Movies10 November 2023
Here we are. After two great seasons, Marvel Studios' Loki has seemingly come to an end... And it's beautiful

This episode, almost an hour in length, provides us with possibly the best episode in Marvel television. It gives an incredible conclusion to the series, and the stories and characters within it

I'm honestly feeling lost for words after finishing it. It's just a perfect episode that's amazing in aspects all across the board, and puts the rest of recent MCU media to shame

In contrast to the majority of Phases 4 & 5, this episode left you with a lot to think about, and I really hope the responses this series has had from fans motivates the Studio to do better

Perfect ending to a fantastic show. This is art.

One century later...
Trey_Trebuchet11 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What more can be said that hasn't already been said about this finale?

Loki is perhaps the show that should not have worked or felt so original. Disney announced all of these new MCU shows and stated they planned a show for a character who seemingly had his run already. This proved me completely wrong. Loki's arc wasn't ever over, it was just getting started.

He's by far one of Marvel's best on-screen characters. I was a bit worried early on this season that he wouldn't even be the main focus, but the second half proved me wrong and may have even made the earlier episodes better. His ending is very satisfying from a writing point of view.

This whole season was just excellent. It didn't at all feel like an MCU property, it wasn't weighed down by references to other properties, and the screenwriting feels like it was made with so much care and planning ahead. I have no idea if or when we'll see Loki again, but if this is the last episode of his series, I'm content.

Also liked how Mobius's arc closed. I have a feeling we may see him again, as well as Hunter B-15. And I must once again state how much I adored O. B.!

Tom Hiddelston in the best he's ever been as this character. He sells every second of screen time and a couple of his moments this season brought me close to tears. That man deserves all of the recognition he gets.

Owen Wilson was also really, really good. I loved seeing him do something off-kilter again. I miss the weird Owen Wilson.

And Jonathan Majors was excellent too. I was expecting a more Kang-centric season, but I'm not mad about it. It's hard telling where Marvel will take that character, if they even do take him any further, but the odds are we'll be seeing him again, Majors or not.

I was also happy to get more screen time between Loki and Sylvie this season. I was expecting more, but I still love what we got.

But it's really the writing and world-building that make this series as good as it is. It's a great mcu show, but it's also just some dang excellent television. Non-Marvel heads would probably really like it just as much as converts. Some great chilling, haunting imagery that I loved.

I sort of thought Loki would take over the TVA, so imagine the look of my face when he basically became the God of Stories, Overseer of the Multiverse. He found his Glorious purpose, but how happy did that make him. He's sort of made a sacrifice for the sake of saving pretty much everything and his friends, and he gained a throne after claiming he didn't even want one.

This is some truly gargantuan storytelling and by far Marvel's best finale, and probably their best series. High-end production, writing, directing, music and very memorable performances and finale.

Phenomenal.

Glorious Purpose!
arvinjanasis10 November 2023
Season 1 was amazing, season 2 was "out of this world"

With the whole timeline dying and its branches at risk of being erased forever, Loki will make the hardest choices and that specific decision will change the course of their time forever.

This series proves that this is the BEST of Marvel in the small screen and even yet one of those top tier projects that they have throughout the course of their cinematic universe. The whole season 2 is full of more possibilities and more questions looming as to what Marvel can still offer. The ending and the whole "Glorious Purpose" of Loki has finally come together in the season finale.

Hoping for season 3 and to seeing Loki again in any future Marvel projects.

Loki Season 2 is 9.5/10 for me.

#LokiSeason2 #Loki.

The burden of sacrifice
tardezyx10 November 2023
To be honest, the season started a little weakly and I initially suspected that the writers would lose the thread and get lost in countless confusions. But with the last 3 episodes and a finale in which all the threads (including a small detour into the first season) come together, they have achieved a masterpiece. The motivation of the One and Loki's decisions, which go against his original intention but ultimately lead him to his desired fate, build a formula that goes beyond Spock's sacrifice in Star Trek II: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few - or the one". While Spock (from his point of view) basically didn't change his own fate (he acted completely logically), we observe something completely different with Loki: We witness a comprehensible, heartbreaking character development of a misunderstood, even pitiable would-be villain whose own mirror image leads him to the ultimate self-sacrifice.

What a ride!

I am speechless because, in one word, Glorious...
olcare10 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is why I followed the MCU, for achieving this level of quality and satisfying comic book readers visually. However, in the last four years, they were 80% off track. With the recent delays following protests and this incredible episode of Loki, my hype is back.

We saw everything falling into place, understood the depth of He Who Remains' plan, and they conveyed it to us beautifully. Without exaggeration or unnecessary explanations, we witnessed Loki not sacrificing himself entirely but imprisoning himself - it was incredible. I truly didn't expect it to end so amazingly.

From now on, I believe Marvel can handle the Kang storyline, especially with the excellent explanation given for Kang in Earth-616 (Ant-Man Quantumania) in this episode. For now, we are waiting to see if Marvel has a chance to clean up the mess they've made.

Update: I am talking about the extra few more things in the finale of Season 2. One of them is the explanation of Loki's Glorious Purpose being essentially an ouroboros, which I think is a fantastic example of storytelling, truly incredibly well-done. The second point is that this 2-season series contains the simplest and clearest character development I have witnessed in a long time. Loki is unquestionably one of the best-executed characters by Marvel, no doubt about it.

"Let's go Marvel, you can do this. You were like that before."

What a great ending

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I was not expecting this.

Marvel had not come out with an ending let alone a project this great is years. Loki finding his glorious purpose was the best character arc in all of Marvel.

This ending has a great story, amazing development and plot twists, and the best main character conclusion in all of marvel.

I like how marvel took a twist for Loki. Up until now, it felt like marvel was making the same movie/show over and over again. But my one criticism about the ending, is it feels like the kang dynasty setup was ruined. Even with my feeling's towards marvel, I felt like they where setting up Kangs storyline to be one of the best in marvel. Anyways, 10/10 episode.

Absolutely Glorious
acharjeeca10 November 2023
A whole 50 minutes of thrill ride and what can I say, it was just mind blowing Loki is undoubtedly MCU's best show and it delivered one greatest finale I have ever seen.

Tom Hiddleston absolutely shines as Loki and provides us with the best character arc for any comic book character ever put to film.

Visual effects "woah" mind blown I don't know if any show has better Visual effects than this.

Owen Wilson looks as amazing as he always is and Sophia Di Martino was great.

Undoubtedly Tom Hiddleston steals the show.

Totally loved his performance.

I don't know what the state of MCU is currently but I will say, it is the best.

Warning: Spoilers
There is no words to fully describe how amazing this finale was, but it by far was the best single episode and overall the best tv show put out by marvel so far. Loki is given the trolly problem in which he either kills slyvie to let he who remains live and keep the sacred timeline safe, or keep slyvie alive which in turn results in the collapse of the sacred timeline. Loki realizes in the end his glorious purpose is to protect who he loves, and that all along purpose was more important than glory. Hands down the best character arc i've personally watched and i hope to see loki again sometime.

A step in the right direction for Marvel.
Avwillfan8910 November 2023
This episode was excellent. It not only brought home high stakes and made me feel scared for the characters involved, but there was also highly strong themes of controlling one's fate, the power of friendship and sacrifice.

Loki goes through such a brilliant character development, akin to Doctor Strange. From someone selfish and tyrannical wanting to control everything, to a loving God willing to do the right thing for everyone.

After the bland, samey awfulness that was Quantumania, and the lacklustre nonsensical, underdeveloped travesty of Secret Invasion, it was very nice to see a Marvel project with a long-lasting returning character live up its hype and deliver a moving finale.

If Marvel can focus on character develepment, a good story and great action set pieces, instead of creating bad movies and TV shows just so you can look forward to future projects, that would be brilliant.

One of the best episode by far the MCU has offered. 10/10 episode for me.
kiranstha-7366311 November 2023
"The Glorious Purpose" marks a triumphant conclusion to Loki's second season, weaving together a tapestry of intricate plotlines, profound character development, and stunning visuals. Tom Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino shine as the titular characters, their chemistry palpable and their performances captivating. The episode masterfully tackles themes of free will, destiny, and the repercussions of our actions, leaving an indelible mark on the character and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the aftermath of Sylvie's fateful decision, Loki finds himself in a pivotal moment of self-discovery. Haunted by the consequences of his past actions and the vastness of the multiverse before him, he grapples with the weight of responsibility and the potential for redemption. Hiddleston portrays Loki's internal struggle with nuance and depth, his portrayal evolving beyond the mischievous trickster of the past into a complex individual grappling with his own identity and the potential for change.

Sylvie's arc mirrors Loki's, as she confronts the echoes of her own past and the burden of carrying on the legacy of He Who Remains. Di Martino imbuesSylvie with a fierce determination and a vulnerability that resonates deeply with the audience. Her journey from a solitary variant to a reluctant leader is one of self-acceptance and the recognition of her own power, culminating in a poignant decision that seals the fate of the multiverse.

The visuals in "The Glorious Purpose" are nothing short of breathtaking, transporting viewers across the vast expanse of the multiverse and into the intricate workings of the Citadel. The time-bending sequences are seamlessly executed, showcasing the boundless possibilities of time and the consequences of altering its delicate balance. The episode's aesthetic is a visual feast, blending the fantastical elements of the MCU with a touch of surrealism that complements the narrative's exploration of existence and the nature of reality.

The script, penned by Eric Martin, is equally impressive, delving into philosophical questions of free will and determinism while maintaining the engaging action and humor that have become synonymous with the Loki series. Martin skillfully weaves together the complexities of the multiverse, the intricacies of the TVA, and the personal struggles of the characters, creating a cohesive narrative that resonates on multiple levels.

Love it masterpiece

Warning: Spoilers
The final episode crossed all the expectations. Loki's glorious purpose is just wow, the true multi verse exists now, The TVA will do their best to prune kangs, as HWR said there's too many, I don't think loki controls the Multiverse, because that's the point, he sacrificed himself, Loki is not preventing Kang he is giving people to Live and fight for themselves eventually, Is loki permanently stuck there? Now we have to think about what will happen after the Secret Wars, Hopefully we see more of him in coming projects since this is one of the best Marvel TV Show endings i've seen, For All Time.

Weird, contradictory, messy, but also fun
namob-4367310 November 2023
This TV show, especially the second season, is almost completely dependent on its actors. It is the actors and their magnificent acting which sell the story and keep us in the audience grounded and invested. Without such a great cast, I cannot see how this show could work.

This finale is even weirder, even messier and even more out there than previous episodes and it almost fails. But again it is the acting that saves it.

The storytelling has also, for the most part, been excellent. Dialogue works great, and the directing has been on point. The problem with this show is that it tackles the weirdest, and always contradictory, topics of time travel and alternate time lines and multiple worlds. Such topics are heavy, seldom works, and automatically demands a lot of everyone involved, including the viewer. In Endgame for example it did not work at all, and it was one of many reasons as to why that movie is atrocious garbage.

In this finale Loki time travels and flip flops between worlds and scenes more or less constantly. It is fun, and greatly handled by the cast as usual, but it also make zero sense and in almost every scene I need to roll my eyes my brain is filled with questions and objections.

Consequently I was not completely sold. But, with that said, this was still a fun watch. 6/10.

"Reincarnation, baby"
daisukereds16 November 2023
Let me preface this by saying... I did not like this ending or season as a whole, and I understand exactly why. There are stories that leave you satisfied without necessarily understanding why they work, but they do! And there's no need need to delve into it further. They are satisfying! This one has not been the case for me. It felt like a toy I was given, being told it's fun, yet I'm struggling to put it back together and finding "its purpose" after taking it apart.

I find infinitely more rewarding critiquing it.. Trying to find the enjoyment out of my time investment, which is the highest compliment I can give this show! Putting more time into it than it's giving back.

The promise, the extensive and unique worldbuilding effort, and the notable execution from almost everyone involved (Major's over-acting not notwithstanding)... just to ultimately have a frost-giant God, physically holding the Sacred Timeline with his hands, and preventing them from branching with his Deceit-Frost-Time Magic!? HAHAHA. It's absurd and idiotic. What are Loki's powers again?

There are too many mixed ideas, wasted episodes of narrative that chases its own tail for no purpose, too many questions left unanswered, and there is just nonsense that spoils it all for me!

(What was the plot on Season One?) An organization that prunes branching timelines according to an algorithm written by a man that oversees time. One that prevents an infinitely scaling plague of supposedly world-ending conquerors from appearing. And we have to take his word for it! He is "terrible" because Loki says so (and not because Ant-Man easily whooped his ass). So, when he is killed nothing should change as long as the TVA continues to do its work. He isn't necessary (even if the show tells you otherwise)... but Loki's effects on the TVA make sense. They stop pruning. Outside of oversight, new Timelines are allowed to exist for a brief time until the Loom explodes... once (what happens after that? Doesn't matter). But still, good enough for a start. Plenty of character development, captivating mysteries and plenty of fun comic-book references to other Lokis and moments throughout many releases.

(What happened in Season Two?) We are given 6 episodes where our characters try to understand what is going on with the Loom, with an unexpectedly conclusion that is delivered without reason or a satisfying explanation.

My biggest problem is that we get a Loki that is now capable of time-bending without anything to back it up. One that has now replaced "He Who Remains" in his "role" (more like the TVA), by magically preventing branching(?). What does the TVA do now? Look at monitors? Why is Sylvie okay with Loki "giving us a chance", when he is basically doing the thing she didn't want to see happen? Instead of an organization taking control over freedom, it is one individual. What changed? Why didn't we see them fighting and losing against other Kangs, and feel their desperation? Why not have them understand the reason for the TVA and to ultimately realize their mistake? Why not see the threat of this plague and setup what was to come? Are we to believe some rogue Kangs will now cause a few problems, when timelines should INFINITELY branch out of control into a mess that is unrecoverable in a couple of seconds? It all feels like a band-aid solution to a problem that didn't need to happen... and if it did, it was terrible managed and written poorly.

Can't recommend it to anyone, as I feel is a waste of everyone's time, no matter what comes after. A Martyr Loki means nothing to me, at least not in the way it was all delivered.

Specially when people only take details such as the "1922 NY Giants Baseball Cap" in Episode 6 (making a reference to Short Round in Indiana Jones) and getting excited over it. Meaningless content.

WOW!!!!!! Best series finale in MCU history
snorrebrekke10 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Where do i even start? I'm mindblown.

After this series finale i can conclude that Loki has had the best character development in the MCU. He might be the most developed character. The series finale was just so perfect. I rarely give 10s out when i watch episodes but this was just mindblowing. The score, the amazing shots, the build up, the emotions of Tom.. i have no words.

The finale offers so much. It gives us so much closure for his character but opens up so many doors for the future. Loki season 2 was great but this finale was even greater. Hands down one of the best finales ive watched. I still can't believe what i've just watched. Loki has finally turned into a true god.

Hats off to Marvel. After so many medeocre shows and movies, this truly warmed my heart.

I swear my heart started reciting 8th century Nordic sagas, the moment Loki, my all time favourite Norse god since I learned the mythology in grade 4 CREATING THE YGGDRASIL

As you do.

I tried very hard not to make any assumptions about this episode and yet that visual, which deserves a million Academy Awards for accuracy, just completely blew me away. I am without words. My brain shorted out the moment those medieval chic horns sprouted, and then the costume department decides to show us what kind of shoes Loki has been wearing this whole time as he descends an invisible staircase. I wanted to pinch myself.

Best thing the Disney company has ever made
rexraven1912 November 2023
Visually this episode was beautiful. The Audio mixing was perfect. The writing was captivating and interesting. The acting will bring on a series of emotions. The episode succefully completes an character arc in a way that makes it final but at the same time opens a mulitverse worth of endless possibilities. How this series will affect the rest of the MCU is going to be fun to follow. Most things in the MCU phase 5 has been a let down, this series however does no such thing. If you like a detailed show that will give you hours of water cooler conversations this is the show for you. 10 out of 10 and this should win ever award there is.

THE PURSUIT OF PURPOSE
SlummyT10 November 2023
Season 1 was incredible how does one top a first season like that..... but season too o What a 'glorious' ending

My how this episode was beautiful not only but it's cinematography but the writing and direction. This episode will go down as one of the greats.

Loki has been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and I am so glad I spent my time watching this. I can't see where I'll be in 5, 10, 20 years from now but for now I am just glad I had the opportunity to watch and admire this remarkable episode

This whole series has been breathtaking right from the start to its finish thank you Kate Herron.

One of the peaks in the MCU
Mindtruster10 November 2023
Overall, the season was fun and entertaining. I have learned well, however, that Marvel Studios can't really land their Disney+ endings. Boy, was I surprised by this finale!

No point going into details. It's all pure emotion and empathy for all the characters involved. Also, Loki basically went full Rick & Morty here. Great fun.

The one thing that really bothers me now, however, is how incredibly diverse in quality phases 4 and 5 have been. The Loki finale released almost exactly at the same time as The Marvels. The last few entries caused so much hate that nobody seems to remember that stuff like No Way Home, Werewolf by Night, Guardians 3 are all post-Endgame.

I genuinely fear that the audiences will ignore content like Loki 2 from now on and we will not have the opportunity to witness what kind of awesomeness this series could possibly be followed by, and what kind of fruit we could eat from this new World Tree.

Also, Jonathan Majors is so_damn_good in this. I cannot imagine this man to possibly be recast. What. A. Freaking. Shame.

The Ultimate Character Arc
mehussey-3150112 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I have to say I loved this episode. I really enjoyed the roller coaster of time loops, spins and the inevitable twist to reach its final destination.

I also appreciated the moments of levity in the musical choice watching Victor Timely die over and over again, felt very much like watching The Edge of Tomorrow. But by the time that stopped you felt the bleakness of Loki's options closing in on him.

And I'm not gonna lie, I balled my eyes out at the end of this episode. Imprisoning himself on a throne, sacrificing himself on the altar of loneliness to fulfill his glorious purpose and protect his friends is the ultimate character arc. I felt utterly devastated and proud of his growth and evolution. And in the end embracing his "losing" destiny so that those he cared about could win. Brilliant conclusion to a wonderful series.

Thank you for treating one of all our favorite characters with the dignity and nuance he deserved.

Loki's Grand Finale
sanadalsalt3 December 2023
After two amazing seasons, Marvel Studios' Loki seems to have come to a close... And it's stunning

This nearly hour-long episode may be the best in Marvel television. It delivers an incredible conclusion to the series and its characters' stories

I'm truly at a loss for words after watching it. It's a flawless episode that excels in every aspect, and outshines recent MCU content

Unlike much of Phases 4 & 5, this episode leaves you with a lot to ponder, and I hope the positive fan response motivates the Studio to strive for even better

A perfect conclusion to an outstanding show. This is art.

Warning: Spoilers
The God of Mischeif The God of Stories The God of Time Guardian of the Multiverse

The TVA Loki variant is different from the other Lokis in that, although he enjoys causing chaos, he also understands the need for order. When he and Sylvie meet He Who Remains in episode 6 of last season, he realizes that He Who Remains' approach is all wrong, but the need to protect reality from the dangerous Kang variants is legit. He isn't sure how to proceed, and he suggests to Sylvie repeatedly that they should "take a minute to think about it." This starts a theme going into season 2 of Loki continually saying he wishes he had more time to think. Sylvie knows exactly what she's going to do, and she won't change her mind, so Loki is forced to decide whether to kill Sylvie, or fight for her. The God of Time decides that his Glorious Purpose is now to protect the multiverse and activates the God of Stories power, and becomes, The Guardian of the Multiverse.

this is what's wrong with Marvel overall
nerrdrage25 November 2023
Marvels movies and series are flopping, and I think I know why. I enjoyed Loki S1 but this current season just left me cold.

Their formula: inane maguffin chase. The stories are, find maguffin A to solve world-ending problem, Oh no maguffin A didn't work! Find maguffin B and use it in a different way. Repeat indefinitely until something works, usually at the last minute.

I honestly don't care if a made-up organization like the TVA is going to destroy the universe with their made-up time loom and the solution is a lot of made-up maguffins.

The actors were trying their best - very good cast. Excellent production values. Love the music! But it's all in the service of nonsense.

Glorious nothing
georgiaasimoglou10 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The first positive about this last episode is that is the last one The second is that actor that plays Kang improved his acting Third is Loki is more important and Sylvie was put in the background where she belonged. Loki was the one who understood what he needed to do and he did it without thinking himself but everyone else is like he became that boy again who wanted to make his father proud .

Forth is that no romance was involved in any form and everything that happened in all the other episodes meant nothing to the plot.

Those are the positives and I give 5 stars cause in the whole series was a huge mess and I couldn't stand watch it again.... As for Loki being the God of time instead of God of mischief.... .. I cant say anything about it .... cause i couldn't care less .anymore.....

Loki is literally holding the MCU together
hensonbattier10 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Here we are, one day before the dreaded "The Marvels" is set to bomb in the movie theater amidst all of the controversies of multiple failed TV series, and only a couple hit movies since Endgame (No Way Home, GOTG3). Not to mention the reshoots, strikes, and overall uncertainty. Suffice it to say, these past few years of pandering have brought my faith in the MCU to an all time low.

Until now.

Loki is pretty much the only thing that has me hanging on to the franchise, and I'm sure I'm not the only person in that boat. This episode of television has opened the door Marvel (Loki) to wipe the slate clean and start over. With Loki as the new "He Who Remains" and "God of Stories" he can pull any character from any universe (dead or alive) together and I believe marvel will use this as their way of bringing Sony, Fox, and Disney characters onto the same screen.

Anyways, thats big picture. Pertaining to the series, I thought that this was a wonderful ending. Loki's new "HWR" suit looks badass and he finally gets his throne! Mobius gets a taste of the real life, and Sylvie (who was unbearable until the last episode, I must say) can now be content that all of the branched timelines are back to life. I also really liked Jonathan Majors' performance as his more primal form. If his variants are like him, I believe that he will make a formidable enemy, or enemies. After extended conversation with Loki and himself, it is clear to me that there was merit to his reason despite Sylvie's hatred. I hope Marvel sticks it out with him, but if they decide to recast him, I think they can still make it cool. They can pretty much cast anyone because they will all be variants. Matter of a fact, I think it would be awesome if all of Kang's variants were played by different actors.

In conclusion, this episode completed the fruition of Loki's character development in the best way possible and in my opinion, opens the door to some sunshine into what has been a gloomy, dark, and boring 4 years since Endgame.

Season 2 review
eoinageary10 November 2023
Loki And we are back, this is right off the bat of the finale so my god, this series is just so damn good.

Loki is back in action for Season 2, displaced in time he must find his friends and prepare the TVA for the coming of Kang. Loki and Mobius team up to jump through time and reality to find the solution to fix the branches in the timeline and set reality back to normal.

That is the least descriptive way I can describe this season without spoilers, I am impressed I must say, the formula in the show is something goes wrong so we need to find a thing or person to fix that thing to fix another thing to fix the universe, after a bit that all seemed a bit tedious to me but with some great scenes it pulls you back in.

Loki and Mobius their relationship is what I love so much, they make me smile and I root for them.

OB is a terrific new character and Ke Huy Quan is so loveable and he is a scene stealer for sure !!!

Again he who remains in this season is really good, Jonathan Majors is so good at diversifying the same person

Sylvie is not for me this season, her whole attitude is just plain annoying, there is a scene where she SNAPS at Mobius and it's so unjustified, they we're waiting and could do nothing at the time, also her high and mighty stance is beyond annoying and repetitive all season.

Sylvie and the formula is my only complaint as it causes it to lag in some parts for me but with the end I feel like this is a close to the show, a nice end, a good end for Loki himself that affects the whole universe, no spoilers but it's not at all what I guessed but I'm happy with where it went

The direction of marvel seems to be strange, kind of hit and miss the past few years BUT in saying that with all new announcements and R rated projects I believe they are listening to the fans !

Overall I give season 2 a solid 8/10

Finale is 9/10.
