Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo shared a big NCIS announcement.
The duo stars in a new NCIS spin-off that will air on Paramount+, but now it finally has a name.
Michael and Cote starred as agents Anthony Dinozzo and Ziva David on the long-running drama, NCIS.
While their characters left the main show, they are back to tell new stories. It opens the door for fresh content about Tony and Ziva.
Many folks have simply been calling the new show NCIS: Europe because of where it happens, as the duo and their daughter will be making their way across Europe in the new show.
Michael and Cote are here to set us straight, and to tease what fans will see on the NCIS spin-off.

The NCIS season finale ended on a big cliffhanger for Agent Jessica Knight (played by Katrina Law).
Much of the episode teased a terrible fate for Knight and Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole).
The duo was trapped in a ship that was destined to be sunk as an artificial reef. They had been locked inside by a murder suspect, and nobody knew their location.
Parker became seriously injured as the duo tried to find a way out, leading to Knight taking a swim through a dark passageway to find help.
Just before Knight drowned and Parker bled out, the rest of the team rescued them, ending that particular storyline. But that wasn’t the cliffhanger.
Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) had a job offer for Knight that would take her to Camp Pendleton – across the country from her current post.

Paramount’s Tony & Ziva NCIS spinoff is untitled no more. The two stars of the Europe-set series, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, got on Zoom to unveil the moniker of the offshoot Tuesday.
After referencing a couple of titles that had been floated, NCIS: Europe and NCIS: Trust No One, the duo announced that the official title of their new show will be NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
“It makes it really easy because the fans will know exactly what the show is. It’s about Tony and Ziva in Europe,” de Pablo said.
The action-packed spinoff, which has a 10-episode order, will follow Tony (Weatherly) and Ziva (de Pablo) as they find themselves on the run across the old continent.
Filming on the series — the second extension of the NCIS franchise beyond the U.S. after NCIS: Sydney — is slated to begin this summer in Budapest. John McNamara is the writer/showrunner.

It appears that the NCIS team will look a bit different when the long-running CBS drama returns in the fall with Season 22.
Heading into this year’s season finale, we knew that Director Vance would present Special Agent Knight with a unique opportunity — to be the React team’s chief training officer, based out of Camp Pendleton in Southern California. And while Jess was quick to tell Vance she’d mull the offer, she dragged her heels telling colleague and partner Dr. Jimmy Palmer about the decision before her. As such, when Jimmy got wind of his girlfriend’s possible...

Hey, "NCIS: Hawaii" fans. We truly hope you enjoyed every last friggin minute of tonight's episode 10, especially since it will apparently be the last episode of NCIS: Hawaii that you will ever see forever. Yep, we were very shocked to hear the news, but it is true. Not only was tonight's episode 10 the finale episode of this current season 3, but it was also the series finale episode. According to the folks over at Deadline.com, the cancellation was most likely due to CBS committing to a lot of new shows, and they had to eventually make a tough decision to let NCIS: Hawaii go. It had good ratings and viewership. They just weren't as good as the other top shows they have. CBS has a very rich line up of shows. So, there's some very tough competition going on over there. Additionally, CBS has committed to other NCIS spin off shows.

The NCIS Season 21 finale arrives on May 6, and it’s slated to be a big one.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, we are heading toward a cliffhanger for one of the primary characters.
But some new statements from one of the NCIS stars teased that the acronym for the show (NCIS) stands for “no character is safe.”
“They shouldn’t just be worried about Gary Cole, they should worry about a lot of characters. No character is safe, that’s what NCIS stands for, I think,” actor Brian Dietzen said on the red carpet for CBS’ Fall Schedule Celebration in Hollywood.
“I’ll tell you this, Gary Cole and Katrina Law knock it out of the park in this episode. There are a lot of things that are going to be happening, not just the danger that our characters are put through, but also dynamics that are going to be shifting,...

CBS is blowing the Fire Country franchise wide open.
Coming off a strong backdoor pilot for a Morena Baccarin-led spin-off, the network has officially ordered Sheriff Country.
The network says the show follows the “straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone, who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.”
It’s a compelling logline that expands ever so slightly on the initial conflicts revealed to viewers in the recent backdoor pilot.
News of the series order would naturally make viewers think it earned a slot in the 2024-2025 TV season, but CBS has revealed it won’t premiere until the 2025-2026 TV season.
The decision means we have a long wait before we delve back into Mickey’s storyline. Perhaps Baccarin will make more...

CBS has released its 2024-2025 television season schedule, and the NCISverse is strong.
The bad news is that NCIS: Hawai’i was recently canceled and removed from the CBS schedule.
Many NCIS: Hawai’i fans have signed a petition to resurrect the Monday night show, but the network is moving on without it for now.
The two shows added to the primetime schedule are NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney.
NCIS: Origins is a prequel show set in 1991 that will tell stories about younger versions of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mike Franks.
NCIS: Sydney is a spin-off filmed and based in Australia, which found massive success in primetime during the two Hollywood strikes.
When does NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney air on CBS?

CBS announced not only its fall schedule, but a full lineup for the 2024-2025 broadcast season at a Los Angeles press briefing on Thursday.
As “Young Sheldon” is currently wrapping up its final season on Thursdays at 8 p.m., a headline of the slate is spinoff series “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” taking over that spot, leading into “Ghosts” at 8:30 p.m. Additionally, “Tracker” — not only the No. 1 new series of the 2023-2024 season, but the most-watched series overall — is getting an earlier position, moving from Sundays at 9 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Several CBS traditions remain intact. Tuesdays remain “FBI” night with the flagship series airing at 8 p.m. followed by “FBI: International” at 9 p.m. and “FBI: Most Wanted” at 10 p.m. On Mondays, “NCIS” holds onto its 9 p.m. timeslot, and after the cancellation of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” it’s 9:30 p.m. position will be taken...

Led by ‘Tracker,’ CBS Declares Early Viewership Victory for the Truncated 2023-2024 Broadcast Season
Though the 2023-2024 TV season isn’t over yet, CBS is on track to maintain its title as the most-watched network for the 16th season in a row. Provided it stays on top over the next month, the broadcaster would break its own record for the longest-ever winning streak, which was set between 1955 and 1970.
According to Live + 7 data measured by Nielsen through April 21, CBS is averaging 5.59 million viewers, putting it 580,000 ahead of its closest competitor, which is NBC with an average 5.01 million viewers. ABC and Fox trail behind at 4.29 million and 3.35 million viewers, respectively.
The winning lineup is led by “Tracker,” the Justin Hartley-led drama series that is not only the most-watched new series of the season but the most-watched series overall. Behind “Tracker,” CBS also has the next three most-watched shows: “NCIS,” “Young Sheldon” and “FBI.” The No. 5 series is NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” followed by two more CBS titles,...

It’s time for some “CSI: Nielsen Ratings.”
CBS is set to win the 2023-24 season as the most-watched network — again — it’s now been 16 straight seasons of the same. CBS has now broken broadcast television’s longest winning streak on record, which was also CBS: From 1955 to 1970, when “Gunsmoke,” “The Andy Griffith Show,” and (some of) “I Love Lucy” ruled its airwaves.
Fast-forward 50 years to the current TV season, which runs from fall (September) through spring (May), and CBS has won 21 of the past 22 years. CBS is also poised to win the season among adults 18-49, long-considered the key demographic for advertisers, as well as its own target market, viewers 25-54. It is also number 1 this year among 18-34-year-olds; Super Bowl Lviii sure helped CBS pull those victories out of its football helmet.
How big was the 2024 Super Bowl? Well, 123.4 million total viewers tuned in across multiple platforms,...

The police procedural NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service has been running for 21 seasons, and its new viewers may not even suspect that this show is an offshoot of the previous multi-season television hit Jag, which ran from 1995 to 2005.

Is it time for NCIS: Dallas?
Probably not, based on the events of NCIS Season 21 Episode 9.
It was a bad week for the franchise, with NCIS: Hawaii being canceled, without warning, after its third season.
And right after Sam Hanna of NCIS: Los Angeles fame came on board for an indefinite stay.
It appears his visit will be for only one season. That's a pity since this new lineup was only beginning to hit its stride.
Apparently, the franchise is sticking with sure things. Beyond a second season of NCIS: Sydney, what else is coming is very NCIS-centric: NCIS: Origins, aka the Young Jethro Gibbs Chronicles, and the unnamed adventures of Tony and Ziva.
Besides, Jo, the innkeeper/small-town sheriff, didn't strike me as a character around which to build a spinoff.
Maybe this episode was, to some degree, poking fun at Yellowstone. Then again, maybe not.

The end of the TV season is always heartbreaking.
Not only do our favorites wrap up for the season, but some shows end forever. And the 2024 season is one of the worst ever.
There are at least seven series ending that we don't want to say goodbye to, but the finales are coming up fast.
The 2024 season was more heartbreaking than most. The season was truncated because of the WGA writers' and Sga-aftra actors' strikes.
Many beloved shows had short seasons of 10-13 episodes, and some with even fewer new shows. There have been long hiatuses that seemed to begin almost as soon as shows finally started airing. Worst of all, many series cancelations were announced just as shows began airing.
There was a bloodbath over at many networks, but CBS had the highest number of casualties, with five of the seven shows we're most heartbroken about leaving that network.

NCIS: Hawai’i fans aren’t going down without a fight. They want the show to continue and have created a petition to save it.
The sad news came out late Friday that CBS canceled NCIS: Hawai’i. CBS decided not to order a fourth season of the hit drama.
Many fans are confused about how the show could continuously win its 10/9c timeslot on Monday nights and not earn another season.
Vanessa Lachey said she was “gutted” by the cancelation. It was part of a message she posted on social media after hearing the news.
Vanessa has played Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant through the first three seasons of NCIS: Hawai’i. The character also appeared on NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Maybe we could see Tennant appear on one of the four NCIS programs with new episodes in the next television season.

The Hollywood Reporter shared the news about the cancellation.
Earlier this month CBS renewed the original NCIS series for a 22nd season. NCIS: Sydney was renewed for a second season back in March. They are aiming to introduce a new show called NCIS: Origins for the 2024-2025 season. It will be a prequel series that highlights Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a role made popular by Mark Harmon. Austin Stowell will bring a younger version of the character to life.

It came down to the wire, but NCIS: Hawai’i ultimately didn’t make the cut for next season at CBS. The news comes days before the network is set to announce its fall schedule on May 2 and before the Season 3 finale of Hawai’i is scheduled to air on May 6. According to sources, the episode was not meant to be a series finale and includes a tease for what was to come but fans won’t be left reeling by a major cliffhanger.
The cancellation is not a complete shocker since, as Deadline has been reporting, NCIS: Hawai’i was on the bubble. Still, the outcome is surprising since an effort was made to extend the well performing drama’s run for at least an abbreviated fourth and final season, with producers agreeing to a massive budget cut and open to other concessions in order to keep the show going.

CBS is shutting down one of its NCIS field offices.
The network has canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. The show’s season — and now series — finale is set to air on May 6.
The series, which stars Vanessa Lachey and added former NCIS: Los Angeles star LL Cool J to its cast this season, will likely end up as the most watched show to be canceled this season — topping two other canceled CBS shows, CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd. NCIS: Hawai’i is averaging about 7.8 million viewers in Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings this season, and it hits 10 million viewers over 35 days of cross-platform viewing.
Those numbers would make for easy renewals most anyplace else, but they put NCIS: Hawai’i only in the middle of the pack at CBS. The network will also introduce a new NCIS series in the 2024-25 season, a prequel subtitled Origins that follows a...

“NCIS: Hawai’i” has been canceled at CBS.
The “NCIS” spinoff is currently airing its third season at the broadcast network. The season finale scheduled to air on May 6 will now serve as the series finale.
“NCIS: Hawai’i” was the fourth series in the “NCIS” franchise and is now the third series to end. Both “NCIS: New Orleans” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” ended in the past few years after seven and 14 seasons respectively.
That is not to say the franchise is not still going strong. The mothership series was renewed at the beginning of April. CBS is also prepping a prequel series about a young Jethro Leroy Gibbs, while Paramount+ is readying a spinoff that will see the returns of both Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly. Paramount+ and CBS also air “NCIS: Sydney,” which was renewed for a second season in March.

The NCIS: Origins cast added another big piece of the puzzle.
An announcement was made that the producers added someone to play Gibbs’ dad – and they made a great choice.
The new show from the NCISverse is set in 1991, telling early stories from NCIS that revolve around Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mike Franks.
Mark Harmon played Gibbs on NCIS, but the younger version of the character will be played by someone new.
Some NCIS fans felt that Mark Harmon’s son (Sean Harmon) could do the role, especially with how well he played a younger Gibbs in flashback episodes of NCIS.
Actor Austin Stowell is now playing Gibbs, which might be hard for some NCIS fans to accept.

The final episode of NCIS Season 21 will be airing soon. This season only consisted of 10 new episodes, making it shorter than previous seasons that have aired. Like many other productions, NCIS was impacted by the two Hollywood strikes. As a result, CBS had to cut the number of episodes down. That means the season finale is coming up soon. Here is everything that has been revealed about the finale, plus when you can watch it.

Fans desperately want to know if NCIS: Hawai’i will be canceled or renewed for a fourth season.
As of the writing of this article, CBS has not announced the future of the NCIS spin-off.
The network might not be as sure of the Monday night drama as it once was.
One of the issues that CBS faces is the number of successful dramas that have already been renewed for Fall 2024.
The success of Elsbeth, Tracker, and Fire Country has taken up three hours of primetime slots. And CBS recently renewed S.W.A.T. as well.
In some unfortunate news for television viewers, CBS has also canceled So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas.

CBS has canceled CSI: Vegas after three seasons and So Help Me Todd after two. The news is not surprising as Deadline revealed earlier this week that both dramas were heavily on the bubble and in grave danger.
That despite CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd being solid ratings performers. With the entire CBS schedule doing well this season and three new drama series joining in 2024-25, NCIS: Origins, Matlock and Watson (in addition to a second season of the Australian NCIS: Sydney), the network was faced with painful decisions, and So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas are the least watched CBS drama series this spring in both linear and multi-platform ratings.
In most current linear Nielsen viewership (2/12 to date), CSI: Vegas, which improved its time period, is at #21 among all non-sports broadcast programs with 6.234M viewers and So Help Me Todd at #22 with 6.224M. That is more...

CBS is adding to its already extensive list of series renewals for the 2024-25 season.
The latest pickup for the network is Elsbeth, the Columbo-esque Good Wife offshoot starring Carrie Preston as the title character, lawyer-turned-investigator Elsbeth Tascioni. The series has performed well over its first few episodes, ranking as the second most watched newcomer on the broadcast networks this season (behind fellow CBS show Tracker). It averages about 11 million viewers over five weeks of viewing on all platforms (CBS, Paramount+ and CBS TV apps).

Third in a series on broadcast network series renewals. CBS will have some painful cancellation decisions to make this spring. After being canceled, then un-canceled, then producing what was billed as its final season, CBS’ Swat is getting yet another new lease on life.

NCIS has been on 21 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles lasted 14 seasons, and NCIS: New Orleans seven. NCIS: Hawaii is in its third season, while NCIS: Sydney recently finished its first season. You do the math to get to 999.
So, as the NCISverse's 1,000th episode approaches, would now be the peak for the franchise, with two spinoffs airing this season and two new spinoffs planned for next season?
Not at all, although this certainly could be seen as the golden age of NCIS Recycling, which admittedly is at least in vogue now.

CBS finally made its NCIS Season 22 announcement and it’s all good news.
As NCIS Season 21 winds down, the network had to decide if enough viewers were tuning in to continue ordering new episodes.
Amy Reisenbach, the president of CBS Entertainment, issued a statement in which she discussed NCIS and The Neighborhood.
For NCIS fans who don’t follow The Neighborhood, it is one of the top comedies on television, and it airs ahead of NCIS on Monday nights.
“The Neighborhood and NCIS are the very best definition of a CBS comedy and drama,” Reisenbach stated.
“They embody authentic storytelling with heart, humor and family dynamics. We are proud to bring them back next season,” Reisenbach finished.
CBS also crowed about the success that NCIS continues to have at the network. According to their press release, NCIS has been a top 20 series for 18 of the first 20 full seasons. That’s extremely impressive.

Many NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i fans may be in for a shock. Today, CBS announced that the current seasons are close to ending.
The NCISverse celebrated April 8 with a primetime special about the first 1,000 episodes. This includes content from NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Sydney, and NCIS: Hawai’i.
It’s a huge milestone for the franchise, and many new episodes are still coming- just not this spring.
As a reminder, two Hollywood strikes caused delays in production for most scripted shows. This means shorter seasons for the hit dramas.
NCIS Season 21 has only 10 episodes, with the seventh airing on April 15. That’s the night the franchise debuts its 1,000th NCIS episode.
NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3 also has only 10 episodes, and Vanessa Lachey recently celebrated filming ending.
