Al Trahan
Some people are holding a private entertainment and Al Trahan comes on. He does some eccentric piano playing and slapstick, mutters nonsense to himself in several languages and addresses the audience.
Mr. Trahan never hit it big in the United States, although he did appear in several revue musicals. He seems to have been far more popular in Great Britain, where he appears in shows with the likes of George Robey and where vaudeville -- there called 'music hall' -- lasted a lot longer than in North America. His physical clowning is excellent. His verbal gags are grown hoary -- but then, this was ninety years ago, so the audience might have found them not so stale as I did.
