I really like it, although I watched it without understanding it. But I drew out a lot of what was going on. Although Ashenputtel (her name is Marie, but called Ashenputtel later on) only has 1 stepsister and not 2, she's treated more unfairly than in other adaptations where she has 2 stepsisters (which of course is the original number). Even though Marie's father knows (he should know, otherwise he doesn't know his daughter very well) that Marie is a good girl, he believes almost everything he's told by his new wife and stepdaughter (remember, I don't understand it. It's German, so I may not be telling the entire truth as for THIS paragraph). He seems bewitched.

I LOVE the dresses she wears to the 3 balls. Mostly the second one, as well as the hairstyle. And seeing that the stepmom and her daughter recognized Marie from the second to the last ball, I was afraid they'd do something right there, which they did only on the next day at home. Oooh, I love the end. Marie locked into a room, unconscious. She wakes up when there's a fire, and the Prince goes in (after the shoe is revealed to not really fit the stepsister). When he unlocks the door, he picks up Marie and they kiss, and he brings her out. Ohhhh, this was so unexpected. So romantic.

Anyways, Marie riding a mice-turned-into-a-horse to all the Balls may be just what it'll be like in the 2015 adaptation, as the picture shows her riding a horse. And I find it a bit cute, because it's quicker. You can't go as fast when you're in a carriage that weighs a lot.
