As a child, Manit (Jon Foo) saw his parents murdered in front of him before his parent's killers put a bullet in his brain. Against all odds, he survives, but the bullet is still lodged in the part of his brain that feels emotion. He trains for years to learn Muay Thai boxing and waits for the right moment to take his revenge, but to get to the men responsible, he must get through street thugs, corrupt cops, and a sexy girl gang.
Bangkok Revenge has almost no story, but I don't watch movies like Bangkok Revenge for the story. If the fights are good, then the story doesn't matter, and boy, Bangkok Revenge has some amazing fights. Jon Foo might not be much of an actor which is fine considering that Manit isn't supposed to feel human emotion, but I predict that with the right follow-up roles, he could be a huge star.

American distributor Well Go USA are usually pretty good at not tinkering with their titles names, so it’s a little surprising that the latest title (director Nopporn Watin’s martial arts action ‘Yamada: The Samurai of Ayothaya’) is heading for the light of day Stateside under the less than original Muay Thai Warrior. Still, considering it’s a great action flick - and their track record to date - we guess we can forgive them this one transgression. Based on actual events from the 17th century's Ayutthaya period, Muay Thai Warrior combines lush visuals with a cast of Olympic athletes to provide viewers some of the most stunning and realistic Muay Thai techniques ever filmed for the big screen. The cast includes Seigi Ozeki (The Odd Couple), Sorapong Chatree (Bko: Bangkok Knockout, Ong Bak 2 & 3), Winai Kraibutr (Bangkok Revenge), and newcomers Kanokkorn Jaicheun, Thanawut Ketsaro and Buakhao Paw Pramuk. I always thought that Jon Foo, the star of the live-action “Tekken” movie, had potential to jumpstart a pretty decent martial arts movie career, and was somewhat disappointed when that film didn’t immediately lead to some bigger budgeted productions. But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working. Foo is the star of French director Jean-Marc Minéo’s “Bangkok Revenge” (aka “Rebirth”, aka “Bangkok Renaissance”). Yeah, “Bangkok Revenge” definitely sounds more kick ass. Check out a new trailer for the film below. It looks pretty insane. Manit (Jon Foo) witnessed the murder of his parents when he was just 10 years old. The killers shot him in the head, but he miraculously survived. However, the damage to his brain left him unable to experience regular human emotions. A martial arts master saved him and took him in. With so many balls-out crazy action flicks currently on the horizon, it would seem that I’m going to have to devote all of my free cinema time to checking them out. I suppose there are worse problems to have. Director Jean-Marc Minéo’s upcoming martial arts flick “Bangkok Renaissance” (aka “Rebirth”) is yet another fight-oriented endeavor that has recently been added to my ever-growing list of films I need to see this year. And while I’m not overly familiar with star Jon Foo — I’ve seen the movies he’s in, but I wouldn’t know him if I saw him — he definitely seems to know what he’s doing here. Before we continue, please read the following passage: Manit, a boy of ten years witnessed the murder of his parents. Unrelenting, the killers decide to eliminate it. Shot in the head, the child survives miraculously from his injuries,...
