Craig Fairbrass ('Dead Cert'), Jason Maza ('Demons Never Die'), Craig Conway ('Devil's Playground') and Sean Pertwee ('Dog Soldiers') are the fresh faced foursome to new British zombie horror 'Tower of the Dead'. The quartet, who these days between them seem to be placed in every mediocre British horror offering or gangster based project there is going, will be bought together to play members of an Armed Response Team and/or a group of arms dealers who find theirselves teaming up when some begrudged zombie fellas take over a tower block. Sound familiar, then you're likely thinking this sounds very much like 2009's French horror feature 'The Horde'! Brit director Ross Boyask ('Left for Dead') will helm from a script he co-wrote with Paul Reynolds....

There's long been a hidden link between Hollyoaks and horror. Here are 10 actors who've made the jump from soap to gore...
Nb: This article contains spoilers.
There’s a moment in one of comedian Simon Amstell’s stand up shows where he recounts a conversation he once had with the executive producer of Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. Trading on the commonly held opinion that Hollyoaks is “rubbish”, Amstell enquired as to why the producer didn’t try to make it better. The answer came that they did make it better, but people stopped watching.
Even by the not-so-great standards that soaps are measured, Hollyoaks has always been firmly towards the bottom of the ladder. The fictional Chester suburb where the majority of inhabitants are extraordinarily good looking but also extraordinarily stupid has been identified by its often wildly outlandish storylines and impossibly pretty people.

Fresh out of prison and back on the streets of London, Lloyd is determined to stay on the straight and narrow for the sake of his girlfriend, Jemma, and unborn child. However, the lure of some fast cash proves too much to resist, so Lloyd and five childhood friends take on the seemingly easy job of rigging up a pirate radio station aerial at the top of a deserted tower block. Reaching the top and settling down, much to the disappointment of Lloyd, it is clear his friends want a party. Things soon get out of control and when pregnant Jemma goes missing, the group starts to fear that they are not alone. I have problems with revenge tales. Far too often they’re a retread, and I understand that the concept of revenge is universal but there are very few tales that are really good enough to make you care. Carrie is a good example of doing this kind of thing correctly; set up a protagonist and give them a reason to root for her while making the antagonists so deplorable that you’d like to jump into the screen and kill them yourself. Hopefully the upcoming revision with Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore can maintain that sensibility. But while that’s uncertain, one thing is: UK’s Truth or Die is not one of these films.
A game of truth or dare at a high school party results in an outcast named Felix being humiliated, rejected, and beaten up. After some time, for some reason, he has invited six of...

Truth Of Dare
Stars: Liam Boyle, Jack Gordon, Florence Hall, Nicky Henson, Jennie Jacques, Jason Maza, Tom Kane, David Oakes | Written by Matthew McGuchan | Directed by Robert Heath
I find with British horror, especially films with smaller budgets there is a tendency to stick to the mainstream idea of what is popular. Set up an injustice at in the first few minutes of the film then have a character come back for revenge. Its cliché, it’s over used and to be quite honest it’s boring. The ironic thing is though there is always a hidden gem that manages to shine through, down to some clever writing and actor choices. This is what you get with Truth or Dare.

This evening, Ben Mortimer and myself headed out into the swanky part of London to attend the 2012 Jameson Empire Awards which take place at the Grosvenor House hotel in Mayfair. We really love these awards as you’re never quite sure who’s going to turn up! The evening had a whole host of stars including Gary Oldman, Michael Fassbender, Ron Howard, Danny DeVito, Dolph Lundgren, James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston…. the list goes on!
I’ve been up all night editing all the interviews that we got with many of the stars mentioned above so without further ado, here’s the red carpet interviews. Sorry there isn’t much of an explanation next to each but it’s now 3.30 am I need sleep but I’ll hopefully add some text in the morning for each.
The next I’ll be putting up the press interviews which take place after awards have been handed out.

Director/writer: Arjun Rose.
Demons Never Die is a United Kingdom shot slasher that is so very ho-hum. Involving the issue of suicide, this film feels more like a hyper extended music video from first time director Arjun Rose. Detectives are oblivious, blood splatter across multiple walls unbelievably means suicide and characters turn up to a party where a friend has promised a murder spree. Does this film sound dumb? That is because Demons Never Die is a very generic and poorly constructed film.
The story is fairly simple with the first scene involving a crying girl, abortion and a six foot tall killer. She finds herself in a pool of blood and detectives find her and her room covered in gore also. Honestly, the bloodshed is all over the place; yet, the ignorant detectives still put this one down as a suicide. Later, a group of kids form a...

The film focuses on a struggling sports agent who is seeking redemption and Tulisa has been singled out as being being perfect for a part. A source told The Sun newspaper: 'She starred in 'Demons Never Die' last year and Idris thinks she fits the bill for a part in his project. Pick Of The Week
Fright Night 3D (DVD/Blu-ray)
Meet the sexy new neighbour, Jerry Dandrige (Colin Farrell). He’s dangerously charming – and utterly lethal. That’s because he just happens to be a vampire, and out for blood…buckets of it. After high school senior Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) makes the connection between Jerry’s suspicious activity and a steadily rising body count, he vows to end the reign of terror next door. To mark the release of Demons Never Die on DVD 20th February, we’ve been given two copies of the movie to give away. Demons Never Die stars Ashley Walters, Tulisa Contostavlos, Robert Sheehan, Reggie Yates, Jennie Jacques, Andrew Ellis, Emma Rigby, Shanika Warren-Markland, Femi Oyeniran, Jack Doolan and Jason Mazaand is directed by Arjun Rose.
When London detectives Bates and Mason (TopBoy’s Ashley Walters and Reggie Yates) are sent to investigate a series of deaths at a local high school, they soon focus on a teenage gang with a dark secret.
Led by misfit Archie (Robert Sheehan, Killing Bono, Misfits) and school psycho Kenny (Jason Maza, Rise of the Footsoldier) each member is battling their own inner demons – victims of violence, bullying, disorders and prejudice. These motives give each a reason to kill and a reason to die.

Well I’ve already done my Top Ten movies of last year, including a few honorable mentions, so now it’s only fair and proper that I present my bottom ten films of 2011, that is the worst films I personally saw last year… Be they kids movies, mainstream comedies or Hollywood blockbusters, I think there’s at least a few films in this list we can all agree on. Oh, and they are in no particular order. Consider them as bad as each other.
Demons Never Die
A UK horror film that takes the basic concept of Scream, including the big-name cameo in the films opening (with Tulisa standing in for Drew Barrymore) and then adds a chav angle And nods to the found footage/Blair Witch school of filmmmaking. Several years in the making, combining the creative efforts of box office powerhouses Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn arrived freighted with a fair amount of commercial expectation. On the other hand, Hergé's boy reporter isn't necessarily a familiar character for the pre-teen target, so it was hard to predict exactly how the film would perform.

Robert Sheehan is famous in the UK for his role in the sci-fi show "Misfits," but he's quickly sneaking up on U.S. turf with roles in movies like "Season of the Witch" and indie rock 'n' roller "Killing Bono." Get the scoop on this floppy-haired Irish actor who's got folks across the pond swooning.
Age: 23
Hometown: Portlaoise, Ireland
What He's Done: The teens-behaving-badly drama "Cherrybomb," costarring Rupert Grint; "Season of the Witch"; the critically acclaimed "Red Riding" trilogy; and the wildly popular UK television show "Misfits."
What He's Doing Now: Sheehan plays Ivan McCormick, one of two brothers trying to get their rock 'n' roll on in Ireland. Unfortunately, their old friends' band is leaving them in the dust. Oh, and that band is U2. It's a comedy with a little bit of romance, thanks to the adorable Krysten Ritter, and it's got lots of rockin' to boot. It's...

The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn (PG)
(Steven Spielberg, 2011, Us/Nz) Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost. 107 mins.
If you forget Hergé's sacred source material and forgive the occasional creepiness of the animation, there's good fun to be had here. Guided by Spielberg's visual command, it's a boys' adventure with an Indiana Jones/Pirates Of The Caribbean rambunctiousness to it – a fast mix of dazzling action and comedy alcoholism that builds up so much momentum, it barely knows when to stop.
The Help (12A)
(Tate Taylor, 2011, Us) Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard. 146 mins.
The feelgood hit of the Us summer puts a cheery gloss on the civil rights era, as a Mississippi woman scandalously documents the woes of black maids.
The Ides Of March (15)
(George Clooney, 2011, Us) Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Evan Rachel Wood. 101 mins.

New British Horror film Demons Never Die is the directorial debut of Arjun Rose and opens in the UK today.
We spoke to Rose and some of the cast at the HeyUGuys/Who’s Jack night during the London Film Festival and there was a clear sense of pride in what they had achieved as well as an infectious enthusiasm for the film.
Earlier this week I spent a lovely evening catching up with Arjun Rose at the Swanky Soho House and discussed how it feels to have directed his first film, the actors involved and his future aspirations.
Movie Synopsis:
Stylish teen slasher film Demons Never Die follows eight very different London students with one deadly secret: they have all made a pact to end their lives together. However, a mysterious masked killer emerges from the shadows to grant their death-wish in more terrifying fashion than they could ever have imagined.

This genre-bending debut is part emo love story, part urban flick, part slasher
City trader turned director Arjun Rose hedges his bets with his genre-bending debut: part bleeding heart emo love story; part urban Brit flick; part high school slasher. It's a bit like being in a room with a group of stoned people at a YouTube party, replaying the best bits of their favourite movies. Executive produced by Idris Elba, with a last-minute name change from Suicide Kids, this stars a cast of Hollyoaks, Misfits and Kidulthood alumni – a likable bunch but a smidge perky as depressed sixth formers who've signed up to the world's most clueless suicide pact ("What about hanging… from trees and that?"). Just as they're about to follow through – oh, the irony – along comes a knife-wielding psychopath picking them off one by one. The police think they've got a spate of copycat suicides on their hands.

The former So Solid Crew member has a burgeoning acting career. But how much does his portrayal of young black men draw on his own troubled background – and does he worry about being typecast?
Is Ashley Walters afraid of being typecast? In his new film, Sket, he plays a violent gang leader on a London housing estate. In Top Boy, a Channel 4 drama soon to be screened, he plays a drug dealer on a London housing estate. In another new film – because Walters is about to be everywhere – Demons Never Die, he plays a police officer; it must have come as something of a relief. After Bullet Boy, the 2004 film that kick-started his movie career – in which he played a young man involved in gun crime on a London housing estate – it seemed as if he could be in danger of becoming the go-to man for gritty, urban dramas.

Demons Never Die
Stars: Robert Sheehan, Jennie Jacques, Reggie Yates, Ashley Walters, Shanika Warren-Markland, Jack Doolan, Jason Maza | Written and Directed by Arjun Rose
I so wanted to like Demons Never Die, I really did. And I’ll be honest, I didn’t set my expectations too high either – come on, this is a British horror flick, and good ones are few and far between these days. But I don’t think even I was prepared for what was in store as the film spooled out before me and a handful of reviewers at the early evening screening…

Last night was the first ever HeyUGuys event and it went off with a bang! We teamed together with the amazing people from Who’s Jack Magazine to bring you a Q&A with the cast and filmmakers from brand new British horror / slasher movie, Demons Never Die at the Jameson Apartment in Soho which is in place for the duration of the London Film Festival.
Jon did a fantastic job anchoring the Q&A session which was attended by Director, Arjun Rose, Producer Rhian Williams from Exile and cast members, Jason Maza (who also produced), Shanika Warren-Markland and Andrew Ellis. The film was shot in just 18 days and from the trailer, it looks like a slick, gritty and we can’t wait to see the finished article when it’s released October 28th.
Arjun spoke about how John Carpenter movies and the Scream franchise affected his writing of Demons Never Die...

We don't usually do this sort of thing, but hey! It's Friday, it's freakishly hot and it's the last chance we have to enjoy anything approaching summer, so here is a music video from Dionne Bromfield for her song Ouch, which features in - and features footage from - Demons Never Die. brightcove.createExperiences();You may remember that Idris Elba, who's a producer on the film, came along to our Big Screen event to present the film in August. He pitched it as a sort of "UK slasher", so it's a twist on the usual American flavour. Especially since, here, the victims had already made a suicide pact with one another - but find life worth living when a slasher killer appears to hurry them along. This video features Chloe Moretz, who isn't in the film but who is a big fan of Bromfield. The film stars Robert Sheehan, Ashley Walters,...

Anyone with a camera and decent desktop editing software can make a movie these days. And they are. Problem is, when they realize their footage looks like amateur porn they decide to make a "found footage" horror film. This is not a stab at The Tapes, the latest of the genre coming from the UK at all, just an observation as to why I think we're getting a lot of found footage films recently.
Synopsis:
In the winter of 2008, three teenage friends, Nathan (Oceng), Gemma (Sparkes) and her boyfriend Dan (Maza), visited Whitstable, Kent to shoot location footage for Gemmas showreel and her Big Brother TV show audition video. While filming in one of the areas many pubs, they briefly encountered a local farmer and were later informed by the barmaid that the man was a harmless swinger who regularly hosted sex parties at his nearby farm.

Written by Scott Bates and co-directed by Bates and Lee Alliston, The Tapes is a brand new independent British horror film starring Jason Maza (Demons Never Die; Anuvahood; Fish Tank), Arnold Oceng (Demons Never Die; 4.3.2.1.; Adulthood; Grange Hill), Natasha Sparkes (Burlesque Fairytales) and Nick Nevern (Terry; Adulthood).
A gritty, urban teen horror that takes its “found footage” cue from the likes of The Blair Witch Project and Rec, The Tapes adds a rare and chilling sense of realism to the proceedings thanks to utterly convincing performances from its excellent young cast and fine location work that suggests the horror really could happen here.

From thingy off Hollyoaks to whatsit from Misfits, the new British horror flick is awash with household names from the telly
Cinema is full of funny little "what ifs". What would Back to the Future have been like if Michael J Fox had never replaced Eric Stoltz? What would have happened if Tom Selleck had played Indiana Jones? Most of the time, such questions are simply left twisting in the wind.
But, finally, one of the greatest enduring cinematic what ifs has been answered – what would Scream be like if it only starred people who you sort of half-recognise from British television? New British horror film Demons Never Die has decided to find out, perhaps in more detail than anybody really required. Here's a breakdown of the film's plot, according to its new trailer.

…But some people are about to!
Sex, murder, accents… That pretty much sums up Demons Never Die, a UK film directed by Arjun Rose and produced by Idris Elba (The Wire, 28 Weeks Later).
A sort of Scream meets Clue meets the United Kingdom, Demons Never Die wrangles together an impressive ensemble cast of UK actors, including British Independent Film Award winner Ashley Walters, Tulisa Contostavlos, Robert Sheehan, Andrew Ellis, Arnold Oceng, Jacob Anderson, Reggie Yates, Emma Rigby, Femi Oyineran, Jack Doolon, Peter Baladi, Jason Maza, Jennie Jacques, and Shanika Warren-Markland.
The first stills from the film have been released and promise plenty of weapons, blood and boobs.

From the title, I expected this to be some sort of demonic possession flick. Imagine my debilitating disappointment when I discovered it’s just another one of those suicide pact slasher flicks. Yawn. Truth be told, writer/director Arjun Rose’s “Demons Never Die” doesn’t look that bad, though it wasn’t what I was expecting. After all, with a title like that, you really don’t expect to see a movie centered around a bunch of depressed teenagers with suicidal tendencies. I’m just saying. Here’s what the flick is about: When Amber (Contostavlos) takes her own life, Archie Eden (Sheehan) and seven other depressed London teenagers decide to follow her lead and create a suicide pact. As the group begins to die one by one, Archie realises they have all become the target of a masked killer and that his own commitment to death has become...
