Loved it as a kid, still love it now
I have always loved Christmas, not only was it a time for family but it also meant singing carols and watching Christmas specials and films. Spot's Magical Christmas was one of my favourites, and still is. For me if a Christmas film makes me feel warm and cuddly inside, it means it has done its job. Spot's Magical Christmas did exactly that. Just for the record, Spot the Dog was a big favourite when I was a toddler and I admit I still have a soft spot for it now. The animation is somewhat basic, but it is also quite colourful and nice for the eyes. I especially liked the animation with Spot and the Reindeer in the sky. I also loved the music, more the incidental music than the Reindeer's song admittedly, but it is very memorable. The writing has everything for both kids and adults, not too childish for adults and not too sophisticated for kids, it is a perfect balance really, while both the story and characters are engaging. Same with the voice work, which is expressive enough without going overboard or feeling underplayed. Overall, I love it and I recommend it for the family. 10/10 Bethany Cox
