Just a filler episode
When Inoue Konoha notices that Amano Touko is chewing paper, she makes him join the lonely Literature Club. Even if that sounds fascinating, you would be sorely disappointed if you were hoping for a narrative or even a hint of one for the next film that you would declare this to be a dull filler episode.
You're absolutely correct-this is just a filler episode. It's not only beautifully done, but its endearing characters kept me enthralled the entire time. Naturally, this one is probably not for you if you get bored easily (especially with slice-and-life games), but for others, it's a great treat.
This is a treasure trove of the kind of casual, lighthearted slice-of-life content that I've always appreciated. It was lighthearted and completely easygoing; consider any series that demands too much mental effort or engagement, such as a compelling mystery series with ominous visuals. Consider the complete opposite now. Bungaku Shoujo (at least the preview) is most likely an anime that is a little too carefree, laid back, and maybe too delicate.
And kudos to the artist; it was truly amazing. It hadn't surprised me all that much, but it had done enough to get my highest praise. It appears that Production I. G. has made a special effort to provide some excellent content here.
Not to mention, the soundtrack is excellent. It's not amazing, but it's also not awful or out of place. I thought this used every component beautifully, but the beginning and finishing pieces stood out to me the most.
The central plot of this narrative is around Amano Touko ordering Inoue Konoha to write about her food, which involves a love tale and a few random items. Touko continues to talk while he writes on the Russian author Sergeyvich's story, First Love, which she was reading. She is disappointed by the poor outcome when he eventually finishes and allows her to eat it. It's not exactly a deep tale, is it?
