- An unreservedly matter-of-fact look at two young women who consider prostitution an adventure until reality catches up with them.
- At the beginning of the film are the two Viennese students Hanna and Lea. Both come from the countryside , both are new to the city and both keep afloat with temporary jobs in the catering trade . Since there is not enough money from the waiters at the back and front, they decide to consider the job offer of an escort agency. The agency is operated by Mario and his wife Sissi. The agency is small; the manners accordingly informal. Sissi teaches the basics of the pay sex industry in a rather casual way. Sissi's advice to Lea: "You have to give the customer the feeling that he is something special. If you can do that, you are something special for him, understand? " And: " Perfume and body lotion must be from the same brand . A smell, a story, remember that. More confuses the men . " This was the first rule. Rule number two is loud: cash in beforehand.
The balancing act between studies, pay-sex business and private life is initially rather unspectacular. Lea meets Claus, an old acquaintance from the village, in the disco . When she is about to get involved in a tech deal with him, she is ordered to a customer. Meanwhile, art history student Hanna befriends Harald ( Adrian Topol ), whom she met while studying, but leaves him in the dark about her part-time job. The meetings with the escort customers are presented as rather casual, incidental, sometimes banal. There is the old man wearing women's underwear under his clothes. There is the alert young manager who wants a special kick and likes to have sex in the elevator . The nice family man who steals away from his family for pay sex. The inhibited, dependent sprout from a good family. At first glance, all of these meetings remain on the surface - whereby the new job not only comes up with situation comedy, but also with uncomplicated, generally pleasant meetings. Joy and suffering: Pay sex - a job just like any other.
As the film progresses, the different worlds become more and more confused. Lea, who wants to study acting , fails the entrance examination at the drama school . The escort meetings are more and more about the substance. Subtle but ubiquitous border crossings are increasing, as is the increasing estrangement from studying. Step by step notice Lea and Hanna: The two worlds are not easily compatible with each other - they are not even clearly separable. A key experience is the unexpected meeting of Hanna and Harald again - this time in the form of a customer date for which she was ordered. An experience that forces both women to make a decision is meeting a businessman who starts in a pleasant atmosphere and ends in massive border crossings. The end of the film: Lea gives up the pay-sex job and returns disillusioned to the country. Hanna calls herself Lea and continues. However, the friendship between the two has irrevocably broken.
