There's no word on who he will be playing, but Variety has learned that Alex Meraz has joined the ensemble cast of David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Meraz played werewolf Paul Lahote in the Twilight series, and starred as a warrior in Terrence Malick's The New World. The actor also appeared in Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown and the final season of CSI: New York. Production is underway on Suicide Squad, and recently a fan posted a picture of himself with Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) as she was...

A new promo video came out yesterday that gave us our most comprehensive sneak peek yet of what Glee’s fourth season will look like when it premieres on September 13 — and it gave us a really good look at the show’s newest stars, Kate Hudson, Melissa Benoist, Jacob Artist, Becca Tobin and Dean Geyer. We’ll get around to talking about the others soon enough, but today we wanted to learn a little more about Dean, the Nyada student who appears to be a big threat to Rachel and Finn’s long-distance relationship. Before Finchel fans start throwing things at the guy, let’s learn a little more about this easy-on-the-eyes actor.
The 26-year-old actor/musician was born in Johannesburg and moved to Australia when he was 15. He didn’t start playing music until he was 18, but by the time he was 20, he blew away the judges with his...

It’s the start of another week, so you know what that means – more DVD and Blu-ray releases to swallow up all your hard-earned cash! So here’s the rundown of what’s available to buy from today, September 12th 2011.
Pick(S) Of The Week
Take Me Home Tonight (DVD/Blu-ray)
Starring Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler and Teresa Palmer, Take Me Home Tonight is a raunchy, romantic and ultimately touching blast from the past set to an awesome soundtrack of timeless rock and hip-hop hits. Recent MIT grad Matt Franklin (Topher Grace) should be working for a Fortune 500 company and starting his upward climb to full-fledged yuppie-hood. Instead, the directionless 23-year-old confounds family and friends by taking a part-time job behind the counter of a video store at the Sherman Oaks Galleria. But Matt’s silent protest against maturity comes to a screeching halt once his unrequited high school crush,...

After a bit of a wait, Michael Jai White’s directorial debut “Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown” is finally scheduled to kick martial arts fans directly in the face when it arrives on September 13th, 2011, courtesy of Sony Pictures. White stars as an ex-mma fighter-turned-trainer who takes four up-and-coming scrappers under his wing as they prepare to enter a tournament known only as The Beatdown. Alex Meraz, Dean Geyer, Ufc fighter Todd Duffee, and Mma fighter Scott Epstein co-star. As far as DVD extras are concerned, I wouldn’t hold my breath for anything overwhelming. Unless, of course, you love trailers for other features from Sony Pictures. In case you missed the trailer, it has been embedded below. function getVideo() { var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/yo033.swf?pid=byhw013&siteId=243&videoId=296515&autostart=false&file=http://cms.springboard.gorillanation.com/xml_feeds_advanced/index/243/3/296515/&pageUrl="+escape(document.

I’ll get this out of the way: “Never Back Down” was an incredibly punk-ass fight flick. I think I spent the majority of the film rolling my eyes and sighing audibly, which is always a good sign that I am not impressed. When I heard someone was crafting a sequel, I think I may have laughed a little, that is, until I learned that Michael Jai White would star and direct the flick. Needless to say, I’m definitely on-board now. The teaser trailer for “Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown” has finally arrived, and I must say, it’s pretty badass. Not only do you get to see White doing his thing, the feature also stars Ufc Fighter Todd Duffee, Mma Fighter Scott Epstein, and Ufc Champion Lyoto Machida. Wow! Check out the clip below. While director John Hyams is currently filming Universal Soldier: A New Dimension, a follow-up to his surprisingly great Universal Soldier: Regeneration, with Jcvd, Dolph Lundgren, and Scott Adkins, one long-standing rumor which still hasn’t been denied or confirmed is that Michael Jai White will co-star in A New Dimension (here). Scott Adkins posted a new pic on his Twitter (via Twitch) that shows himself, Larnell Stovall who choreographed the fighting in Undisputed III and Never Back Down 2, and Micheal Jai White.
Does this mean White will get his revenge on Jcvd who killed his character in Universal Soldier: The Return back in 1999? Or was he just visiting the set?...

The Mma sequel Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown has a new trailer, and it's got everything: Topless young men getting sweaty in the gym, winsome love interests who may or may not be strippers, at least one slo-mo jump-punch, and plenty of Michael Jai White, who co-stars as an aging Mma veteran-slash-mentor and makes his directorial debut. "Why exactly are you in this thing?" asks a comely young lady. "I need this," answers Beefy Never Back Down 2 Ingénue #4. Don't we know it.

It has been a few years since the modest hit in Never Back Down came out, and since then, has gathered a solid little following. Twitch has the new trailer for Never Back Down 2, directed by and starring Michael Jai White (Mortal Kombat: Legacy), and stars Ufc Fighter Todd Duffee, Mma Fighter Scott Epstein and Ufc Champion Lyoto Machida.
Something tells me this sequel will be very hard-hitting. No word on a release date yet.

I didn’t see Never Back Down, and I can’t say that I’ll be rushing to see Never Back Down 2; though it’s good to see Michael Jai White stretching himself and trying his hand at directing.
Never Back Down 2 will be White’s feature-film directorial debut.
The first film in what may become a franchise was released in 2008, and co-starred Djimon Hounsou. It was poorly reviewed by critics, and managed a $41 million worldwide box office gross. Sony Pictures will release Never Back Down 2 next summer, June 10th 2011, says IMDb, which is a Friday; meaning, a theatrical release is likely planned.
White reportedly promised, a “darker installment… with a more of a ‘The Dark Knight’ feel…,” and less of a “Melrose Place vibe.” I guess the first one had more of a Melrose Place vibe? Like I said, I didn’t see it. Zero interest.
