Open to feel it

I don't have much to say but I know if you watched this whole serie up to now it wasn't just to analyze it in a technical way. There are moments when you just need to feel it. I cried like a baby today. And that's fine if you didn't. But I have a suggestion for you. Be open. Things change, seasons change, people change and if you want to experience it in a better way just be prepared to open up. It may work.

I have watched since the beginning and Beth's entire story wrapped up this episode was BEAUTIFUL, one of my favorite episodes of maybe the entire series.

Worst writing of entire series

Warning: Spoilers
I love this show but this wasn't anywhere near up to the standard I have come to expect from TIU

Aside from being slow, I just can't get behind the Beth dancing story arc.

Beth was a dancer up to the age of 17. The writers introduced her undying "passion" for dancing quite far into the series and it hasn't washed ever since, on top of that Beth was a failed dancer who never came close to dancing at a high level. So why are we now expected to suspend our belief that she holds any credibility assessing and training & coaching world class ballet dancers. It's silly. Almost as silly as her having a full blown conversation with a dancer on stage in front of hundreds of people about how she feels her pain and some. Come on writers, you are so much better than that!

The episode was slow and I'm starting to feel frustrated that the pace isn't moving us to the final destination in a way that feels satisfying. We know where the show is heading and that this is the final series, with that it feels like these kind of storylines feel meaningless. I would prefer to see more flash forwards and present day scenes to understand how each of the beloved characters ends up in the final scene and how their relationships with eachother evolve/ fall apart. I know this is happening more subtly than that but to me it feels to slow right now.

Hoping the writer have stepped up their game for the rest of the series because this was the worst written episode yet in an otherwise flawless show.

Getting Worse

Warning: Spoilers
Hate a lot of things about the episode, but I'm tired of the Madison Elijah BS. Who the heck takes their kids away from their father on their first Thanksgiving when his mom is declining in health and memories. I've never been a Madison fan, but this just cemented it for me.

Stupidest episode of the entire series

Warning: Spoilers
Once a big fan of this series, it seems to be grinding to a halt lately, with lazy and unrealistic writing. 3 cases in point:

1) Beth as the ballet coach: The scene at the showcase recital when the dancer falls down. How ridiculous that Beth comes running onstage and proceeds to have a slow dim-witted conversation with the girl about what she should do. The audience is still present! You would think they were out for coffee! Beth as a character was obviously a failed dancer, because as any performer knows, if you fall and you are not injured (the girl told Beth she wasn't), you immediately get up and continue where you left off. You don't have a summit about it onstage with your ballet instructor right in the middle of the recital! To top it off, Randall in the audience tells his girls to always remember how great their mother was!

2) As others have noted, it was very wrong of Madison to want to take the twins for Thanksgiving dinner to Elijah's. Kevin and Madison may no longer be "together," but they are united as a family by their twins. Elijah is nobody's father. He is not even engaged to Madison. Madison has always been my least favorite character. Her selfish and superficial nature was evident right when she was introduced in the series as befriending Kate, while being very mean to her. Even Kate was on Madison's side. Is this really the moral message that the writers are sending?

3) The former Miguel--Rebecca--Matt triangle is getting very "tired" already. As a writer, you never want your audience to get ahead of the characters' intelligence. It is so obvious to everyone that Miguel is in love with 'Becca, and the only character who seems not to notice is 'Becca!

I am trying to make it to the last episode, but I may not make it. Time for some new writers. The characters seem to be getting dumber and dumber each week.

It is getting worst

Warning: Spoilers
There is a notable change from the first two seasons to these last two. We can see that the writers are not working on the characters anymore, but rather on the message they want to give. This is an important change. When you focus on this story and the characters, they guide you. But this episode is a clear demonstration of an effort to adequate the story and the characters to the message the writers are trying to preach. This is an episode extracted from motivational speeches and social media empowering memes. Beth was never well built, but this episode ruined her. It seems that all Jack's children are going too far from the tree. Jack died as a real human being, not being able to resolve his issues with his mom, his dad and his brother, but yet doing the possible with his life, dying heroically. His children, well, they are millennials trying to resolve all their psychological issues believing this is the only way to true happiness. They need to talk to people in the past, they need to confront, they need to spend all their energy and time trying to change the people see them. They rarely change themselves, rather they want the world to change and accept them.

Also, it is annoying how they are trying to force a reason to Kate leave Toby. He was able to support her through all her countless hard moments, but she is now frustrated because he works too much.

So, well, this was a good journey with two or three good seasons, but it is over now.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, i really love this show, or at least how it were in the beginning.. the last couple of seasons i have only loved 1-2 episodes/season and only "liked" the rest.. but this one? This episode really sucked..

How can the writers take the whole Madison-taking-the-kids-for-thanksgiving-with-new-random-guy-who-she-only-dated-for-a-couple-of-weeks and make it out to be righteous on her part? You really made it seem like Kevin were in the wrong for wanting to spend Thanksgiving with his twins for the twins first big holiday.

You better stop this terrible writing or i will stop watching..

"Dont let me keep you" were the best episode so far in the whole show, but just because you made one legendary episode in this season doesn't mean that you can flush the rest down the toilet..
