It's time to wrap things up and go home...
This review is never going to be seen but I have to get this off my chest.
The ending is beautiful and a cameo fest.
So it turns out that they had been searching for a red herring all along and all of it is revealed by Starkus who may be from the future or may not. The way he words it, he is just chilling in space.
Also we discover that the mask was indeed created by the arkanians in the past to "imprisson/house/give refuge/kidnap" all the people from the strata? But why would you make prison? The arkanians must have learned that force fixes everything.
Finally, and I don't understand this: the people from the prison mask is somehow tied to every character we met in the strata. Don't know, they just transform into them and it's empty because characters who are supposed to be emotionally reunited get ignored because the episode is about to end.
The only thing that I thought I would be angry about makes more sense: the people who have become energy beings can turn their bodies into energy and the orachite is basically a ship that can take them and their sun to space with Starkus. They basically evacuate the entire strata and go to space.
Now if you ask me: the first season is better than the second. I watched that season pretty quickly. It took me a long time to finish the second because so much of it is filler.
The basic ideas of season 1 seem to have been forgotten for this Sci fi changes where science is so advanced it is not discernable from magic. It's a shame because the first season implied war, economy that drilled the planet, genetic mutations and so on that were the consequences of abuse of power.
It's a shame that the writing teams couldn't write a great story between these ideas. It has something that almost looks like a great story but it needed a lot more polishing in season 2 and they rushed through it.
I would like to see a full remake of this series. It could be interesting to see what they would write.
