This episode doesn't have much of a plot other than Android 17 and Piccolo fighting. Cell does manage to appear at the end. It's great to have an episode devoted entirely to two evenly matched characters like this. We even got to see a good preview of their fight in the previous episode, so I was afraid this wouldn't be as focused. I was pleasantly surprised. As someone who is quite familiar with the manga, I recall the exact parts of their fight. Cell has a great voice in this form.
This really does harken to what the series is all about: intense fights. It's obviously more than that as it features interesting and unique characters with great animation. Bulma does manage to find the weakness of the Androids. It's nice to have other important things going on. We get to see two popular characters really shine. ***1/2
