Even though we saw the last Harry Potter movie 13 years ago, the discussions regarding the franchise’s characters and the actors who portrayed them aren’t going to subside in a while. The same is with the first movies’ antagonist, fierce and arrogant Draco Malfoy, who was convincingly played by Tom Felton, the fandom’s favorite blondie.
It can seem that the actor now stays out of the spotlight or is out of acting at all, however, he isn’t. Indeed, after his Hp success Felton took smaller roles in a number of lesser-known projects, but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth a try.
The same year when The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was released, the Draco actor appeared in Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), which gained a lot of hype at the time. The role of Dodge Landon marked a far cry from the role of Harry Potter’s rival.

Ever since Chadwick Boseman tragically passed away at the age of 43, stories about the actor’s kindness and compassion have been making the rounds on a regular basis. Even as he spent four years battling the colon cancer that would eventually take his life, Boseman kept his illness a secret from everyone except his inner circle and continued to make movies, fulfill commitments and live up to the title of the generational icon he had become following the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Black Panther.
The actor had recently moved into producing in an attempt to find the kind of projects that appealed to him directly, and his first two efforts in a creative capacity saw him executive produce little-seen Netflix revenge thriller Message from the King and co-produce biographical drama Marshall, the latter of which found him delivering one of the finest performances of his career.

Producer and writer Logan Coles first met Chadwick Boseman, who died Aug. 28 of colon cancer at age 43, when they were students at Howard University. After bonding over their love of the arts, the pair would go on to produce films like “21 Bridges” and “Message from the King,” fighting hard to promote Black stories right up to the end of the “Black Panther” star’s life. Coles shares those memories here, writing a message to his “brother, friend and comrade.”

Earlier this week, the heartbreaking news arrived that Chadwick Boseman had passed away from colon cancer at the age of just 43. It’s proving hard for his fans to process as the Marvel star had elected to keep his illness private, ever since he was diagnosed four years ago. Of course, social media has been filled with an outpouring of grief for such a talented performer and a beloved figure in the industry, taken from us at far too young of an age.
Some small solace we can take from Boseman’s death though is that he made a huge impact on cinema with several acclaimed roles to his name. His resume is tragically nowhere near as long as it should have been, but we still have a range of movies to watch and rewatch to remind ourselves of how good he was. And if you’re hoping to catch...

Chadwick Boseman achieved an impressive legacy of memorable screen roles, including historical figures Thurgood Marshall, James Brown and Jackie Robinson plus indomitable creations like Black Panther. But which of his roles do you consider his greatest? Vote in our poll below.
After spending much of the 2000s in recurring and guest roles on television, Chadwick Boseman seriously considered quitting acting before landing his breakout film role in “42” as breakthrough baseball star Jackie Robinson in 2013. Boseman received critical acclaim for the role and even landed nominations from the NAACP Image Awards, the Chicago Film Critics and more.
The next year he co-starred with Kevin Costner in “Draft Day” and found his next big biopic role in the form of “Get on Up,” the James Brown story. Once again, he would receive strong notices for his fiercely committed performance. After playing Thoth, the Egyptian God of Wisdom in “Gods of Egypt,...

The first time TheWrap spoke to Chadwick Boseman, it was the fall of 2014 and he had just come off the remarkable one-two punch of playing Jackie Robinson in “42” and James Brown in “Get on Up.” At the end of the conversation, he laughed that he was not looking to do another biopic anytime soon. “Another biopic might pop up that I have to do, but before that I have to do a few other things, if not 10 other things,” he said. “And if we make it that far, I’ve already won anyway.” From that moment until his shocking death of cancer at the age of 43, Boseman made exactly 10 more movies: first “Gods of Egypt”; then “Captain America: Civil War,” the first of four Marvel films in which he played Black Panther; then another biopic, “Marshall,” in which he played U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall; and also “Message From the King,...

Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer on Friday at age 43, made a striking impression in both TV and on the big screen in his too-short time in the spotlight.
Nathaniel Ray, “Lincoln Heights” (2008-09)
Chadwick Boseman had popped in small TV roles in the early 2000s but he had his first major breakthrough role in this ABC Family drama as a member of the U.S. Army who belatedly learns he’s the son of the series lead (Russell Hornsby).
Graham McNair, “Persons Unknown” (2010)
He followed “Lincoln Heights” with a role on a short-lived NBC drama about a group of strangers who find themselves plunked into a ghost town.
Jackie Robinson, “42” (2013)
Chadwick Boseman landed his first lead role on the big screen in Brian Helgeland’s biopic of Jackie Robinson, the first Black player to break into Major League Baseball. He starred opposite Harrison Ford, who played the Brooklyn Dodgers’ general manager.

‘The Night Manager’ Producer The Ink Factory Extends 127 Wall Financing Deal, Ups Rod Henwood to COO
“The Night Manager” producer The Ink Factory has extended its co-financing agreement with media investor 127 Wall Productions until 2024.
London and L.A.-based independent The Ink Factory said the agreement will allow it to increase development funding and production co-financing capacity across both film and TV.
The existing co-financing facility was set up between Hong Kong and London-based 127 Wall Productions and The Ink Factory in 2017, and has supported projects such as Park Chan-wook’s adaptation of John le Carré “The Little Drummer Girl” for the BBC and AMC.
The move comes after The Ink Factory announced a strategic partnership in February with Endeavor Content, which saw the financing arm of Endeavor take a minority stake in the business. Under the deal, the “Killing Eve” and “Night Manager” distributor is to set up a bespoke development fund for Ink Factory. The pact will specifically target the U.S. market with high-end TV series developed out of Ink Factory’s U.S. outpost in Los Angeles.
Endeavor Content will have a formal first-look agreement covering both film and TV to sell forthcoming Ink Factory projects internationally.

Belgian director Fabrice du Welz is known for his extremely violent and gory films, which typically reach a fever-pitch of intensity if they do not start from an already nerve-wracking place. His aesthetic project is one of confrontation, and his interest lies in exploring limit-experiences of intense emotions and sensations, of the kind which produce both psychological and physical pain. Already in his phenomenal 1999 short film A Wonderful Love, he centers on an ordinary and unassuming woman, living in a disgusting apartment, who “falls in love” with the corpse of a male stripper she accidentally murdered. It is gruesome, funny, sweet, and disturbing all at the same time. His early feature films were part of a similar project and share this wonderful, productive collision of tones, Calvaire (2004) projecting the psychosexual hang-ups of its main character onto a brutish fight for survival in a rural hellscape, Vinyan (2008) following a grieving couple...

Adoration
Belgian provocateur Fabrice du Welz returns with Adoration, the third chapter of his celebrated Ardennes trilogy, which follows his 2004 debut Calvaire and 2014’s delicious Alleluia (our interview)—both titles which the director is perhaps best known for in the Us. Having taken recent trips abroad, including the troubled French production of 2014’s Colt 45 and du Welz’s English language debut Message from the King (available on Netflix), du Welz at last returns to the isolated hysteria which has marked his past Ardennes installment by reuniting with his Vinyan (2008) star Emmanuelle Beart. Also included in the fantastic cast are French icon Beatrice Dalle, Belgian actors Benoit Poelvoorde and Peter van den Begin, Haneke discovery Fantine Harduin (the troubled child of 2017’s Happy End), Xavier Legrand’s Custody breakout Thomas Gioria, and excitingly, the return of Laurent Lucas, who headlined the two previous Ardennes titles.…

Exclusive: The Stars in My Soul, a memoir co-written by Hakeem Oluseyi about his life, has just been picked up by Working Title. Chadwick Boseman and Logan Coles are producing the film adaptation after they worked together on 2016’s Message From the King, which Boseman starred in and executive produced and Coles co-produced.
The Stars in My Soul is being compared to the breakout hit Hidden Figures. Oluseyi grew up in Louisiana when his parents divorced and he had to find his own way through life. Through pure will and perseverance, he ended up becoming a Nasa astrophysicist.
The book was scooped up in a competitive bidding situation — not surprising given that the package included Boseman. The actor (also a producer and writer-director) is one of the world’s most recognizable screen stars right now with the back-to-back mega-successes of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Here’s an interesting new company in the TV packaging space… Revolution Films founder Andrew Eaton, who produced Netflix’s The Crown, has partnered with The Fall exec producer Justin Thomson and Tracey Scoffield and David Tanner from Rainmark Films to launch DoveTale Media.
The company was established at the start of the year to help package high-profile TV projects and provide executive producer services to third party producers and broadcasters.
It has already scored its first project – a miniseries called Faceless from Spiral writer Virginie Brac and Oliver Butcher, the writer behind Chadwick Boseman’s Message From The King. Thomson has joined forces with Léonis’ Jean-Benoît Gillig and Gub Neal, his former colleague at Endemol Shine-owned Artists Studio, to develop it as an eight-part thriller, a French-British co-pro that will be set in the corridors of power on both sides of the Channel, involving murder, betrayal, blackmail, high...

With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options — not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves — we’ve taken it upon ourselves to highlight the titles that have recently hit platforms. Every week, one will be able to see the cream of the crop (or perhaps some simply interesting picks) of streaming titles (new and old) across platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, and more (note: U.S. only). Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.
Adaptation (Spike Jonze)
It’s almost depressing to rewatch Adaptation in 2016, because it’s a reminder of how strong an actor Nicolas Cage is when he actually invests himself in good projects. It was soon after this that his career went off the rails, but he’s remarkably impressive here, playing the dual roles of Charlie Kaufman and his fictional twin brother, Donald. As much a mind-fuck as any other Kaufman screenplay,...

Netflix has released a new trailer for Chadwick Boseman's (Black Panther) new revenge thriller Message From the King. This fantastic looking film follows a man from Cape Town, who infiltrates a sprawling network of lowlifes and elites in Los Angeles. Why? Because he's on a quest to avenge his sister's murder.
The movie was directed by Fabrice Du Welz (Alléluia, Calvaire) and it also stars Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, and Alfred Molina. The movie looks like a great and intense movie and it's set to premiere on Netflix on August 4th.

"Whoever you work for, get him! This was a Message from the King." Don't mess with Chadwick Boseman! Netflix has released a new official Us trailer for the hardcore action thriller Message from the King, starring American actor Chadwick Boseman as a mysterious badass who comes to Los Angeles to find his sister. "His pursuit of revenge will lay bare a network of depravity that stretches from the dive-bars of the gang heartlands to the glitz of the Hills." The entire cast includes Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans, Alfred Molina, Tom Felton, and Sibongile Mlambo. This kind of looks like a cool mashup of Taken plus John Wick, with Boseman kicking some serious ass while seeking revenge for his sister. Yes, yet another revenge movie, but at least it's not the typical version of this kind of story. Or maybe it is? I'm still interested. Enjoy. Here's the official Us trailer...

Considering their lack of transparency when it comes to viewership for specific movies and shows, it’s no surprise that Netflix’s release calendar is not akin to a theatrical roll-out. While we often hear of a movie’s release many months (sometimes years) in advance, when it comes to the streaming giant, it may just be a week or two prior we’ll get a heads up that a film is arriving.
Such is the case with a new film led by Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther, 42), the old-fashioned revenge thriller. Message from the King, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival last fall, is getting a Netflix release next week and now the first trailer has arrived. A movie that didn’t really make much of a wave at Tiff last year, “Message From The King” (our review) is now destined to live in the corners of Netflix you probably don’t venture into very often. It’s a shame because Chadwick Boseman is apparently pretty good in the film, but perhaps his status as Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will help draw some eyes to the picture.

We now have the first teaser for Message from the King, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival last fall.
Considering Boseman’s rising star power, it’s peculiar it doesn’t have U.S. distribution yet, but the film will arrive in France in May and the first teaser shows off a genre film with some considerable style. Directed by Fabrice Du Welz (Alléluia, Calvaire) and also starring Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, and Alfred Molina, check out the first teaser below, along with a clip, for the film following Boseman’s character as he heads from South Africa to Los Angeles to get payback after his sister dies. When filmmaker Mel Gibson decided to tell the World War II story of Desmond Doss, a brave soldier who saved 75 of his company at the battle of Hacksaw Ridge in Okinawa, Japan, he made the choice to return home to Australia to do it. In doing so, he also ended up hiring some of Australia’s finest talent, including Hugo Weaving and Rachel Griffiths.

For years, Wales-born actor Luke Evans has been part of bigger action and fantasy blockbusters like Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit and Fast and Furious 6, as well as genre films like Dracula Untold and The Raven. In Tate Taylor’s adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestselling The Girl on the Train, Evans finally plays a more grounded role as a man dealing with domestic issues and a missing wife.
