Charles Band’s company Full Moon has been delivering wild, crazy, entertaining films for almost thirty-five years now – and on the latest episode of his YouTube series Full Moon Universe, Band has revealed that 2024 is going to be another big year for them, as they’re launching a new production label called Pulp Noir with a slate of ten films. The plan being that all ten of those movies are going to be filmed by the end of this year.
Here’s how Band explained it: “I’ve been thinking recently about how to create a new brand of movies. Movies that are still deep in the sci-fi, fantasy, mainly horror sub-genre, and do it differently than what we’ve been doing with Full Moon. So I thought it was time to make a series of features that would be darker, edgier. (There are) a lot of concepts I’ve...

Critically acclaimed novelist Mark Allen recently revealed the cover photo and a Friday October 06, 2023 release date for his upcoming novel, Just Before Dawn. This novel, Allen’s third, is a direct sequel to his debut, Nocturnal, and picks up five years after that book’s events. The Vampire Eddie Marx has returned to his quiet existence, removed from “the affairs of man”. His great, great grandson, Reggie, along with Reggie’s friend Nick Castle, have continued their careers with the San Diego Police Department and received major promotions.
But a serial killer stalks the city’s vampire Goth scene, leaving kills that mimic vampirism. Reggie once again enlists the Vampire’s reluctant help. Simultaneously, a dark, powerful force from the Vampire’s past arises in the present to destroy him and his descendants, severing his bloodline.
“I had had always envisioned Nocturnal as a one-off,” Allen explains. “But everyone kept asking,...

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is officially upon us, but with a new year (and month) comes brand new horror and sci-fi films arriving on VOD and various digital platforms to get genre fans through the winter doldrums. On the 2nd, the year kicks off with a bang, as we have a handful of movies making their digital debuts, including Mickey Keating’s Psychopaths, No Solicitors, Bigfoot Country, Cannibal Farm, The Rizen, and Death Island: Paranormal Retribution.
Both Day of the Dead: Bloodline and Devil’s Gate are being released on the 5th, and for those who missed playing his game in theaters this October, Jigsaw makes its digital bow on January 9th. The Inside remake is coming our way on the 12th, Happy Death Day brings home some unique slasher-fied fun on January 16th, and both Mom and Dad as well as Delirium are being digitally released on the 19th.

Fox released the pilot episode of Delirium, a series it passed on last fall, for a limited time on Hulu, and fans are absolutely obsessed with it. I’ve only made it to page 20 in the first novel in the trilogy, so this review will in no way be commenting on how the episode holds up to the book (feel free to let us know in the comment section), but the pilot offers plenty of material worth discussing all on its own.
Delirium is set in a dystopian society where love has been branded a disease. Through advancement in medical research, the private sector has developed a cure which the powers that be have determined is a necessary evil toward keeping the population “safe” – along with fences around every city.
Naturally, with any form of oppression, there is a resistance. In this case, it is comprised of those who believe...

The Delirium pilot, based on the best-selling Ya series written by Lauren Oliver, was rejected by Fox last year, but it looks like the project may be getting a second chance. Instead of going down quietly into the failed pilot vault (or wherever pilots that don’t get a series order end up), you can watch Delirium on Hulu during its 24-day run this June/July, courtesy of the network.

In May, Fox chose not to pick up Delirium, a sci-fi pilot starring Emma Roberts. Normally, that would been the last thing we heard from the series, but Fox is leveraging a pair of its properties to ensure that Delirium sees the light of day. The pilot is currently available on Hulu, where it can be viewed until July 14. The Delirium pilot was directed by Rodrigo Garcia, co-founder of the Wigs YouTube channel. Delirium has stylistic similarities to many other Wigs series, including a well-known female lead and a thematic focus on love (Delirium takes place in a sci-fi world where love is outlawed.) Garcia told The Hollywood Reporter that Delirium, which is based off a young adult novel, has "a big captive audience. It has a humongous following." This potential audience helped convince Fox to keep Delirium afloat." Since the target audiences [for Wigs and Delirium] were such a great match, it made...

Fox Entertainment and Wigs, a web-channel designed to appeal to female viewers, have teamed up to air "Delirium," a pilot that was never picked up, on Hulu. Directed by Rodrigo Garcia ("Albert Nobbs"), the "Delirium" pilot introduces us to a dystopian world where love has been made illegal. The pilot stars Emma Roberts and Daren Kagasoff ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager"). Kiliaen Van Rensselaer, Fox's head of multi-platform programming, explains the reason behind the sudden interest in the doomed project. "We have a fully-finished piece of material that's great. There wasn't room for it on the air at the time, but because it has been made, and we do believe it's a great piece of work," he said. "It made sense to allow consumers to see what was made."In addition to this, Wigs was drawn to the project for obvious reasons: "high-quality, scripted dramas with a female lead,...

Hot off The Rover, a dystopian thriller for which the actor is earning raves, Guy Pearce has joined the cast of another futuristic indie – this one titled Equals. Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult were previously announced to be leading the cast for Like Crazy director Drake Doremus, so it’s expected that Pearce will take on a supporting role.
Equals, which is billed as a stylish sci-fi romance, is “set in a world where there is no greed, no poverty, no violence, and no emotion. But a new disease is threatening everyone: Sos, or Switched-On-Syndrome, activating depression, sensitivity, fear, love — and once a person is overtaken, they are sent away and never seen again.” The IMDb summary for the film expands on that, though take it with a grain of salt until an official full synopsis is released:
A futuristic love story set in a society where emotions have been eradicated.

Every year, TV networks typically order about a dozen pilots, then later decide which shows should be made into a series. These networks never have more than a handful of timeslots available, which means the majority of pilots ultimately never see the light of day. Last spring, “Delirium” was one of those pilots. It starred Emma Roberts as a 17-year-old girl who lives in a dystopian future where love is outlawed. Her character, of course, winds up falling in love. The show was based on the young adult novel by Lauren Oliver and it was rejected by Fox in favor of “Sleepy Hollow” and “Almost Human.” However, if you've been curious to find out it looked like, six minutes worth of clips have landed online. With graduation from Grant High School came a lot of decisions. And I can only imagine that longtime fans of The Secret Life of the American Teenager are going to have really strong opinions on "Thank You and Goodbye."
For weeks, months, seasons and years it was always about who Amy would choose.
In the end, I guess she chose herself. She didn't stay with Ricky, but she didn't definitely end up with Ben either. She choose to see where the next chapter of her life would take her... without her son. I can also imagine there will be a lot of strong reactions to that part of her decision.
Elsewhere, Grace and Jack finally broke up. Henry and Alice got back together. Omar came back for Adrian. Honestly, there's not much to say about a finale that was 80% filled with flashbacks. The one major scene was the break-up between Amy and Ricky.

If you’ve ever seen Scream 4, you might’ve seen Emma Roberts in a new light. She perfectly portrayed the kind of person who would be a normal teenager in one scene and a psychopath in another. The people behind American Horror Story: Coven must have watched her performance because she’s the latest to join the cast of the FX series’ third season. As with previous seasons, Roberts stands an equal chance of playing either a killer or a victim and it’s anyone’s guess which type of role she’ll land on. You could make assumptions based on her character’s description, but that won’t be enough to predict the insanity that is American Horror Story.

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the second announced yesterday. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on Fox.
While "The Following" proved a breakout winner, Fox had few success stories last season. So, it is going a bit more ambitious this year with numerous dramas, comedies and one-off "event series".
Several pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen including the family of government-sanctioned assassins drama "Boomerang," the adaptation of Lauren Oliver's book trilogy "Delirium" about a world where love is illegal, the legal interns workplace comedy "To My Assistant," the U.S.S.
Lexington-set "The Wild Blue," and "The List" about the hunt for a thief who stole a file containing the secret identities of people in the Witness Security Program,

My favorite time of year is upon us, when the networks announce the new additions to their fall lineups. It’s exciting to see, out of all the pilots that have been developed over the last few months, which are getting the order to series and will be given the chance to capture the attention of audiences across the country. But for every pilot that gets picked up, even more are left behind and completely forgotten. Fox has come out as the first network to give out its fall drama pickups. One or two are surprising, but otherwise it looks like a good bunch of shows.
The new dramas coming to Fox are, according to Entertainment Weekly, Almost Human, Gang Related, Rake and Sleepy Hallow. Almost Human is the latest series from producer J.J. Abrams, as well as J.H. Wyman (Fringe). Starring Karl Urban, Michael Ealy and Lili Taylor, it...

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the network opted not to pick up the program, which would've starred Emma Roberts as the leading Lena Holoway, for reasons unstated. The pilot for "Delirium" was filmed between late March and early April, directed by Rodrigo Garcia. Castmembers of the would-be show have had mixed reactions to the news, ranging from a "win some lose some" take on the matter to being outright "devastated" by the decision. Fox has picked up four dramas, including Greg Kinnear's "Rake," for the 2013-2014 season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Rake" is Kinnear's broadcast TV debut, with Miranda Otto and John Ortiz co-starring. According to Deadline, "Rake" is being considered for a midseason launch in the vein of "The Following," one of the few hits of last season. Kinnear will play a "House"-esque criminal defense lawyer named Keegan Deane, described as "brilliant and frustratingly charming ... whose chaotic and self-destructive personal life often gets in the way of his professional one. He takes on the cases that nobody else will touch, ruled by a resolute optimism, belief in justice and dogged determination to defend those who seem beyond redemption -- much like himself." Sam Raimi directed the pilot, and the show was created by Peter Duncan, who came up with the original Australian version.

This year’s pilot season has claimed its first online fandom victims.
Fox has decided to not move forward with Delirium, an ambitious sci-fi novel adaptation starring Emma Roberts as a 17-year-old in a dystopian future where love is outlawed. Billy Campbell also starred. The pilot was based on the bestselling young adult novels by Lauren Oliver. Instead Fox ordered J.J. Abrams’ robot cops drama, a Sleepy Hollow series, and two others.
A second project with a notable following that was rejected Wednesday: NBC’s adaption of the comic book series The Sixth Gun, which is based on a best-selling...

We've been following progress pretty closely here on the on-going movie adaptations of Veronica Roth's "Divergent," John Green's "The Fault In Our Stars," Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters," James Dashner's "The Maze Runner," Markus Zusak's "The Book Thief" and Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game," and we've also been keeping tabs on the TV shows spawning off of Lauren Oliver's "Delirium" and Kiera Cass' "The Selection." However, there are still gobs upon gobs of Young Adult novels out there which have been optioned for production by film studios and/or producers which are still in movie-making limbo land or being scripted or waiting to be cast. Some might not ever seen the light of the big screen (sad face), but a lot of 'em will, and if you want to be one of those Ya Fics & Flicks lovers who's tot ...

Making for a fun date night out, Emma Roberts and Evan Peters attended the premiere for their upcoming film "Adult World" in New York City on Thursday (April 18).
The 22-year-old actress looked stunning as she worked the red carpet solo in a figure hugging purple dress before later slipping into a sexy black frock while posing with her co-star beau.
Sure to cause some laughs, the comedy follows a recent college graduate who believes she's destined to be a great poet but instead winds up working for an adult book store.
Keeping her schedule jam-packed with work, Emma recently just closed the book on another one of her projects. Taking to her Twitter page earlier this month, Miss Roberts wrote, "Last day on #Delirium! Had so much fun on this one."

Director Rodrigo Garcia has the heavy burden of trying to make the book-to-small screen adaptation of Lauren Oliver's "Delirium" series well enough that Fox will pick it up, but even so he was able to have a little fun with the pilot project during filming.
