I know that HDNet already had Inside MMA on for a few years prior to MMA Live debuting on ESPN. But this was the first time on a network where the majority of cable viewers had access to.
Jon Anik who later on went on to be the play by play host of fight events taking place on FX and FUEL as part of UFC's new FOX television deal is the anchor of the show. Mostly his analysts on the show were Franklin McNeil and various fighters with it primarily being Kenny Florian, but with occasional appearances on the show by the likes of Stephan Bonnar, Miguel Torers, Brian Stann, Chael Sonnen and Mo Lawal.
The problem with the show is that ESPN didn't put a lot of effort behind the show and was usually stuck late on a Friday night and a lot of times the show would start 10-15 minutes later then normal if a game on ESPN went over.
It was a good starter show for MMA on basic cable but UFC Tonight the new show on FUEL perfects the idea.
