A show like Legends is sometimes tough. With a cast like this, all the stories that need developing, and all the tones the show cycles through, sometimes you get an episode that feels confused. This week was one of those, and despite the tonal whiplash, it ended up beng pretty good. It helped that both halves focused on different strengths: Mick Rory, and being completely ridiculous.

Maybe you like finding new international talent like I do. The ones who are fluent in English are the upcoming talents for U.S. hits, whether indie or studio. So you want to meet Amit Masurkari, writer and director of ‘Newton’.
India’s submission to the Oscar’s foreign-language category, Newton is an indie that in India has achieved box office numbers comparable to mid-range mainstream films. Its Roi was 3x the production cost.
Drishyam Films produced the Hindi-language film, about a rookie poll officer who overcomes the odds to conduct free and fair elections in a remote tribal area, on a budget of 45 million rupees ($692,000). It opened September 22 in India and grossed $4.8 million.
I interviewed Amit Masurkari about his film which premiered at the Berlinale Forum and won the Cicae Award. The Cicae Award is given by the international association of art house exhibitors.

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, Arnold is going to finally meet his parents. At least, that’s what the new “Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie” trailer promises viewers. On Thanksgiving, the answers that ’90s kids have been waiting decades for may finally be revealed when the movie premieres on Nickelodeon. And a new teaser, which dropped Wednesday, is already giving fans a taste of what’s to come. The short clip shows almost the entire gang back together again (with almost all of the show’s original voice actors reprising their roles) and ready to pick up where things left off when the.

Chris Evans‘ dog Dodger is a star, but the adorable pooch found himself upstaged in his own video on Tuesday.
While the focus was meant to be on the adorable pooch, all fans and followers could notice was a familiar female voice: the actor’s rumored on-again girlfriend Jenny Slate.
Evans, 36, shared a new video of his four-legged best friend on Twitter, proudly showing off Dodger’s singing abilities as he played with his stuffed lion toy that played classic “In The Jungle The Mighty Jungle.”

Read even just a couple of interviews with him and you’ll realize that James Gray — in his humor, candor, self-effacement, knowledge, and general kindness — is better at the process than almost anybody else. So I’d experienced twice over, and now a third time on the occasion of his latest picture, The Lost City of Z. Although I liked the film a whole lot upon seeing it at last year’s Nyff and found it a rich source of questions, our conversation proved too casual and genial to be intruded about with a query about sound mixing — which I, of course, just knew I’d ask before entering a hotel room and sitting at a tiny table, complementary chocolate cake between us, and realizing that my muse then and there was instead a question about Steven Soderbergh’s Twitter account.

Since it debuted on the festival circuit last year, we’ve had our eye on The Dreamed Path, Angela Schanelec‘s first solo directing effort since 2010. While it’s still seeking U.S. distribution, if you missed it at Nd/Nf in NYC here last month, it’ll be playing at Locarno in Los Angeles on April 22 and the first trio of teasers have now arrived. From the first few shots, one can glean Robert Bresson’s influence, but it looks to be a wholly original work, something we hope the rest of the country will get to see soon.
“Angela Schanelec’s The Dreamed Path is so beguiling that we, the audience, have to take comfort in pointing out its one clear structural point: it’s split into two halves, each about a different couple in separate time periods,” we said in our review. “Our first is Kenneth (Thorbjörn...

When a few hundred films stop by the 41st Toronto International Film Festival, it’s certainly impossible to cover everything, but we were able to catch over 120 features — and, with that, it’s time to conclude our experience, following the festival’s own award winners. We’ve rounded up our top 20 films seen during the festival, followed by a list of the complete coverage.
Stay tuned over the next months (or years) as we bring updates on films as they make their way to screens. Note that we didn’t include films screened at other festivals in our “best of” round-up, but you can see Venice, Cannes, Berlin, and Sundance wrap-ups at those links, which feature some of the most-praised films of the festival, including La La Land, Arrival, Manchester by the Sea, Certain Women, Elle, Things to Come, Nocturnal Animals, and many more.

Angela Schanelec’s The Dreamed Path is so beguiling that we, the audience, have to take comfort in pointing out its one clear structural point: it’s split into two halves, each about a different couple in separate time periods. Our first is Kenneth (Thorbjörn Björnsson) and Theres (Miriam Jakob), who we see arriving on vacation in Greece in 1984; the film is quick to divert our attention to a protest about the nation’s place in the European Union, and here already feeling the weight of democracy and mythology. A young, attractive couple (easily the film’s liveliest sequence is when they busk “In the Jungle”), circumstances suddenly drive them apart when Kenneth’s parents in England fall sick and Theres gets a teaching job back in Germany.

Here's the thing about Naked and Afraid: the show is really, really hard.
There are bugs. There's horrible weather. And if you're really unlucky, there are huge spiders.
And there's something else that goes almost unnoticed on the show. Not only are the contestants naked, but they're barefoot. In the jungle. It's seriously the worst part of the entire experience. (People reporter Steve Helling experienced Naked and Afraid last February, and his feet are still jacked up.)
Now imagine dealing with all of it – the bugs, the weather, the nudity – when you're about to throw up.
That's what happens...

Amazon Prime has announced that Prime members will now get a nice discount toward all newly released video games! Find out more below!
It looks like Amazon Prime is expanding their reach farther than just delivery and great TV, including Mozart in the Jungle, Transparent, The Man in the High Castle, among others. Starting now, Amazon Prime members can get 20% off all new video games upon release. That's roughly about $12 off a $60 game! Pretty cool, right?
How does it work? First off, this only applies to physical games, no digital downloads. Next, you have to pre-order the game or buy it within the first two weeks after its release. The last is obvious, be an Amazon Prime Member.
If you're worried about trusting Amazon to deliver your game on time, you can rest easier in knowing that all pre-orders are expected to arrive the day of release.

As I mentioned, I’d written four Trailer Trashin’ columns to be released over the time I was gone, covering four of the biggest trailers that dropped in the later part of April. But I had some computer troubles with this last one, so I’m presenting it to you now. With that said, let’s take a look at the official global trailer for Jurassic World.

A slew of classic Disney movies are hitting for the first time on Blu-Ray, including one double-pack release, and you’re going to want to make sure to pick these up. You haven’t paid attention to some of these titles for a while, and it’s about time you got the chance to catch them on Blu-Ray. The best part is that there’s a great mix of releases hitting. Bedknobs and Broomsticks is all but lost in the cultural consciousness, and it deserves a return. The Academy Award-winning movie from the year I was born is filled with a lot of fun and adventure, and like most Disney films, holds up well for a whole new generation.
The rest of the group covers a great spectrum, including two animated “big” titles, and a 10th Anniversary release. There’s a lot to expose your family to here, so check out all the info below,...

It's hard to believe, but next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the childrens' book adaptation Jumanji. And while the film starring Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, David Alan Grier and a young Kirsten Dunst isn't exactly a modern classic, it certainly holds a nostalgic place in the hearts of many children of the 90s. Though many of the special effects in the film are laughable now, mostly the terribly crafted computer animated monkeys, they were state-of-the-art at the time, and helped make this jungle adventure fun for the whole family. And now you can commemorate your love of the movie, or the book, by purchasing an incredible handcrafted replica of the board game. It's truly a remarkable piece of woodwork. JoBlo called our attention to prop maker Gemma Wright, who is offering this for sale: In the jungle you must wait until the dice read five or eight... And...

Towie star Joey Essex was the favourite to win the jungle crown in this year's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! - but he was swiftly evicted to the plush Palazzo Versace in a shocking double eviction at the weekend. We catch up with the reality show icon to find out about his jungle experience…
How are you feeling, Joey?
"I'm feeling really good. The jungle was amazing, but it's really weird to be out. It's great to see my dad again. I've really missed him. I can't wait to have a shower, though."
How much weight did you lose on the jungle diet?
"I lost just under a stone and a half, but I've been eating ever since I left the jungle. I had three meals before I got to the hotel! I had a full English breakfast, a bacon and egg sandwich and a curry. It was reem.

Exclusive: The X Files creator Chris Carter is close to a TV return with his first pilot in more than a decade. I’ve learned that Amazon Studios has moved forward with a pilot order to The After, Carter’s project with Georgeville TV. Carter wrote and is set to direct the thriller, which takes place at the moment of apocalypse. Georgeville TV, founded by Marc Rosen and Reliance’s Motion Picture Capital, first teamed with Carter for The After last fall when the project was taken to Mipcom by Sierra/Engine TV. The After joins another Amazon drama pilot, recently ordered Bosch, as the company is looking to launch its first hourlong series. Amazon also has Jill Soloway’s comedy pilot Transparent starring Jefferey Tambor, and football comedy The Outlaws, written by Jeremy Garelick and Jon Weinbach and executive produced by Ice Cube, also is gearing up for a pilot shoot.
