SuperLuchas.net reports that former WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes had recently tested positive for a banned substance which would see him face a 30 day suspension under WWE’s wellness policy. Cody was however able to provide a valid prescription from a licensed physician proving he was prescribed those drugs and was subsequently cleared.
In the mean time though prior to him being cleared, it was initially expected that Cody Rhodes would in fact face a suspension and is possible reason why he was relinquished of the Intercontinental Title to Christian at WWE Over The Limit pay-per-view.
After the event, Cody sent out cryptic Tweet which read:
Time off
The Tweet obviously led fans to believe that the second generation superstar would be disappearing from WWE TV for a while. However Cody has appeared on various shows since, increasing his feud with Christian and it looks as if his initial failing has had no repercussions.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Lord Tensai will get a complete overhaul and makeover as a character after being dubbed “a flop” by Vince McMahon.
Matt Bloom, the former A-Train and Albert returned to the WWE shortly after WWE WrestleMania 28 and was given the gimmick of a Japanese warrior, which played up the success Bloom had enjoyed overseas since he originally left the WWE in 2004.
Tensai was given a big push upon his reintroduction but the decisive moment for the character came when he failed to impress WWE officials in his pinfall victory over John Cena at the main event of the April 16th Raw SuperShow in London. Tensai’s victory was to eventually build to a Tensai vs Cena feud that would culminate in matches at WWE Over The Limit and WWE No Way Out pay-per-view events but that poor performance led to a change of plans which now...

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The event took place just one night after WWE Over The Limit’s pay-per-view.
John Cena’s music hits and he opens the show, coming down to the ring with a serious look on his face. He congratulates John Laurinaitis on his win last night and the only explanation he can come up with for Big Show’s actions was that he had sold out. Cena says Show shouldn’t have worried as he would have been re-hired by whomever took over from Laurinaitis when he got fired.
Laurinaitis comes out in a handicap scooter with Eve Torres by his side. He gets to his feet with crutches and reveals he was sent to hospital last night because his injuries were so bad. He says if Cena or anyone else ever lays a hand on him they would be immediately fired.

Judging by his mugging of Randy Orton on WWE Raw, it looks like Chris Jericho will spend the foreseeable future battling with The Viper. They will surely produce some thrilling encounters, but that will not detract from Jericho’s fourth failure in consecutive pay-per-views to win a world title.
At Sunday’s WWE Over the Limit, he was pinned by defending champion Sheamus in a fatal four way that also featured Alberto Del Rio and his new nemesis Orton.
Having retired due to injury at the Elimination Chamber, and after losing cleanly against Cm Punk at Wrestlemania and Extreme Rules – this latest loss may signal the twilight of his distinguished 22 year career.
Since coming to the WWE in 1999, the Canadian grappler has come and gone, but has managed to re-invent himself with relative ease. Each one of his returns has been greeted with much fanfare; but he needs to deliver...

WWE Over the Limit Recap. May 20th 2012 from the Pnc Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Pre Show:
Kane defeated Zack Ryder
Kane went from two pay-per-view matches against Randy Orton, to a pre-show nothing clash against Zack Ryder. It was short and it wasn’t surprising, but what do you expect from a pre show? Kane won after reversing the Ruff Ryder into a Choke Slam.
WWE Over The Limit goes live…
Battle Royal for #1 Contender to Intercontinental or Us Title
Christian wins!
After Kane and Ryder ended on the pre show, we got the entrances of mostly everyone on the main roster who didn’t already have a match. William Regal got noticeably larger reaction than everyone else… until Christian returned as a surprise entrant. Weird that they didn’t save it for the main show. Once everyone was in the ring, we went Live to the Pay Per View.

Over The Limit
Pnc Arena in Raleigh, Nc
Don’t be fooled by WWE Over The Limit’s lacklustre buildup, where the PPV itself has been derived of any real strong individual story lines, the matches themselves hold they’re own strengths and intrigue. The WWE title bout itself is said to be an Internet fanboys dream. A World Heavyweight title contest pitting 4 men who have all had their own brush with the Gold against each other. John Laurinitis set to get his comupence from John Cena, while the rest of card is a general affair.
Pre Show – Zack Ryder vs Kane
This will mark the third consecutive show that WWE have aired a teaser prior to their PPV, giving fans a small taster of what to expect and WWE’s last ditch attempt to garner those additional PPV buys.
Over the last year Zack Ryder’s stock has plummeted.

Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
Triple H is walking backstage with his arm in a brace and he walks into John Laurinaitis. WWE.com have announced that recently crowned WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth will be defending their belts for the very first time at the WWE Over the Limit pay-per-view.
They will face the team of Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger in their first defence after winning the belts from Primo and Epico on a recent episode of WWE Raw. Though we should remind ourselves that Primo and Epico (with Rosa Mendes) do have a rematch clause for their belts which they can use at anytime but under the instruction of Abraham Washington they have delayed taking on the match.
As for the pay-per-view match, well if the guys are given time it could be a really great match, one that the tag team division has needed for some time. There’s some excellent workers in this match, though Dolph Ziggler seems to be pushing further and further...

The Big News: Paul Heyman returned as Brock Lesnar’s legal representative and announced that Lesnar had quit the company. Daniel Bryan tortured Cm Punk in the Yes Lock following a handicap victory over his rival with the assistance of Lord Tensai and the aftermath of a tag match featuring Sheamus/Orton vs Del Rio/Jericho led to John Laurinaitis booking a fatal four way title clash between the competitors at the Over the Limit PPV.
In a Nutshell: Legitimacy has come to a grinding halt with John Laurinatis now the main focus of programming.
John Laurinaitis opened the show by claiming that he was an authority figure who refused to be disrespected by John Cena which served as the explanation for why he had lost his temper the previous week. He then said that he would finish what Brock had started at WWE Over the Limit in a match...

Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio vs Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title fatal four way match at WWE Over The Limit PPV was announced on last night’s edition of WWE Raw. The multi-man title match replaces Sheamus vs Del Rio for the World Title that was previously announced on SmackDown.
No indication as to why the match-up was changed just yet, but I’m guessing it might possibly be to prolong a feud between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton into a singles bout at June’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view.
Also added to the pay-per-view card is a WWE Divas Title match between Layla (c) and Beth Phoenix. Phoenix has been due her Divas title match having been replaced at the WWE Extreme Rules PPV by Layla after Beth was injured.
Here’s the updated card for the event;

He says Cena embarrassed him last week by calling his names, so he lost his temper and went into a fit of destruction. Laurinaitis says Brock Lesnar injured Cena’s arm and last week he injured his pride. He will finish the job at WWE Over The Limit and that the WWE Board of Directors welcomed the match as tough but fair. Laurinaitis asked that Cena not be here live tonight so he can have therapy on his injury and no excuses when he loses at Over The Limit.

Del Rio’s victory over the Champion on the April 6th edition of SmackDown guaranteed him a future World Heavyweight Title match and it has been announced that he will take it at the May 20th pay-per-view from the Pnc Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

On last night’s Raw, Daniel Bryan won the “Beat the Clock” challenge making him the Number 1 contender to face WWE Champion Cm Punk at May’s WWE Over The Limit pay-per-view.
Bryan won the challenge when he defeated Jerry “The King” Lawler in the quickest time, beating Randy Orton (who defeated Jack Swagger) who was runner-up ahead of Chris Jericho (who beat The Big Show by countout), The Miz (who defeated Santino Marella) and Kane & The Great Khali (that went to a no-contest when the time expired).
This will be the first WWE pay-per-view contest between the Bryan and Punk after a series of excellent main events earlier this year on Raw and SmackDown when Daniel Bryan was World Heavyweight Champion and the WWE booked several Champion vs Champion matches.
Punk vs Bryan should be an incredible main event, especially considering how over Bryan is with the crowd right...

Last night’s WWE Raw results from Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.
The show opened with a look back at John Cena vs Brock Lesnar from WWE Extreme Rules and Cena’s much talked about post-match comments.
Justin Roberts introduces John Laurinaitis who walks to the ring smiling. He says Extreme Rules changed WWE in one night and he did for People Power. Fans should thank him for bringing in the most dangerous athlete in WWE’s history, Brock Lesnar. Out Lesnar comes.
Lesnar shakes Laurinaitis’ hand and is booed. Lesnar says he brought the pain last night, just as he said he would. Laurinaitis speaks but Triple H’s music plays and out he comes in a suit.
Triple H shakes the hand of Laurinaitis and offers Lesnar his hand and he takes it. Triple H says he is here to do what Johnny doesn’t have the guts to do.

WWE are advertising a triple threat main event match between Randy Orton, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at the May 20th pay-per-view WWE Over The Limit. Lordsofpain.net say the match was advertised during the telecast of last night’s Raw SuperShow in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Obviously it is too early to say this will definitely happen but this is clearly the WWE’s thinking at this point if they are advertising the match. There had been an idea to make a Randy Orton vs Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan triple threat title match at WrestleMania but with Orton’s recent injury and this past week’s events firmly focused on a singles match between Sheamus and Bryan, that is likely no longer on the cards.
