Wasn't sure then I was

At first I was wondering if I liked the main character Jack. At one point I was actually rooting against him. But as the movie went on, I realized this was by design; to take you to your lowest esteem of someone as unlikable, petty and irritable, then watch them take an honest look at their faults, missteps and ultimately fragile mental health, work himself back together as someone who found purpose and I was rooting for in the end. It's a great movie that touches on the complexity mental health and how we respond to the stresses and expectations of life.

I recommend and love the courage the filmmakers showed taking on a heavy topic as mental health and how it affects the relationships with the people closest to us in a funny and irreverent way.

Small movie, big ideas

Was fortunate enough to catch this movie at Dances with Films and the energy in the room was electric. It's a concise and efficient film that punches way above its budget class. It's intriguing and exciting with particular standout performances from both Jack De Sena and Kelly Marie Tran.

Hautekiet really outdid himself telling such an ambitious and important story on such a small scale, and the movie really feels like every resource they had ended up on screen. His clever use of infinite space really opens up the scope beyond the tried and true two-people-in-a-room indie flick.

I would definitely recommend this to others. If you have the chance it's definitely worth the watch.

Poignant and refreshing

Loved this movie! It's poignant, refreshing, and nuanced. Has both humor and heart, and the acting is wonderful! Recommend, recommend!

It hits the stigma of male therapy with grace. I really appreciated the message, and hope it reaches an audience that needs to hear that therapy (especially for men) is okay (and even great).

I can tell this film was made with care. Kelly Marie Tran is a force - I'll always watch what she does. The story is engaging, thought provoking, and reflective. I love the character relationships and levity this film brings about on a (usually) heavier topic.

Really appreciated this watch!
