A worthwhile historical moment, but underperforms on some levels.

As a Revolutionary War period docent for a local site, I am always interested in new information about the era. I was unfamiliar with the Ludington story and I am glad to know of it now. However, as a film, I found that the acting was underwhelming and the dialog was often forced and stilted. Certain features of the supporting characters and events also seem a bit superfluous and unlikely.

The period clothing was well done, but a bit too squeaky clean to really feel of the time.

But I am pleased to know of this event, and it drove me to investigate more. So I appreciate the effort.

The story of Sybil Ludington is an interesting and often overlooked one. I love that this film puts the spotlight on a figure that history has often overlooked.
